So grateful for this video exactly what I need how to size and position to lay. My mentor unfortunately taught me placing slightly halfway down from the cuticle and the outcome is not as perfect. But this is a tip for sure! Will definitely use this for practice
Thanx Tracy, cleard up some issues i've experienced with "self application". I mean, i've been doing my own nails (tips/full) since i was twelve and could never quite get rid of those bubbles... But i have tried this method, and it is by far the best...
I never realized the fitting problem until trying out glue-on nails. I thought they should be the same width as my nails but I was very wrong... It was uncomfortable and kept popping. Wish that I watched this videos at that time.
I'd like to think you did this video for me, as I asked a few weeks ago if there was any difference between tips and forms as I never see you guys using tips. However i realize this video is a year old! Lol thanks for sharing. You addressed the issue I have when applying tips with this video. I always get air pockets when glueing. Thanks guys much respect.

Thank you for this video. I myself have never used tips on a client. However I have tried numerous times to put a tip on myself in the last 13 years that I have been a nail tech. I have never ever had success for some reason the tips will not adhere. I have used many different nail glue’s but was never trained how to do this. Now I know that the reason the tips will not adhere is because I didn’t prep the nail first before I tried to glue on the tip LOL. Rookie mistake although I was trained to sculpt nails and not to glue on tips. I can’t wait to try this after the holiday merry Christmas to you and yours and happy New Year’s 😊🎄

Are you sixzing the tips so they are fitting without having to press them down with a lot of pressure? If you are pressing a lot then that could mean you are sizing too small and that will lead to pocket lifting. If the nail is between sizes, always choose the larger size and then file to fit.
No, we push back cuticles, remove shine with our e-file, cleanse with swipe and apply the tips. Here is a video for you: ruclips.net/video/aMbRah86HMA/видео.html

Does it really matter if you file the well before or after you glue it on? My school taught us to file the well and the sides before glueing it on so that you save filing time trying to blend it all after.
Can you tell me the technique to merge the nails. Cos when i do even after working hard still when i apply polish it is visible the smile line of the nails
Would those curved tips be helpful for me with ski slope nails? Although I am proficient with your forms (best forms ever) I would like the option of tips sometimes.
With ski sloped nails, we do recommend cutting the free edge as short as possible and sculpting with the forms rather than tips, but if you are wanting to use tips, you can. Since our quarter well tips have a curve to them, they can help to mask that upward slope. However, with any application, you will have to clip them off every so often and re-sculpt to keep them from sloping upward
I did my own gel nails today for the first time and I wish I watched this before because I made error number 2 forcing the tip down and yea I can see the edge of it under the gel and ait under it.. ahh well live n learn right?
I’ve learned so much with this channel with help from this channel and a few others I actually passed my nail tech course and got 76/100 so thankyou ❤️😊😊😊
we put it on after applying the tips. Protein Bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product.
With quarter well tips, you would need some kind of enhancement over them for strength and durability. If they are just applied with no product over them, there is a greater chance of them breaking off. You can use a hard gel over them or if you are just doing a shorter/active set, you can use gel polish/Fiber Gel but make sure to build up the stress area for support.
Hard gel is another product used to make extensions similar to acrylic. It is non-porous so it does not soak off. Here are some videos for you: ruclips.net/video/LFykeb6GC2Q/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mQamX1VMwqs/видео.html
Any advice on how to avoid applying a crooked tip? Or what about when the person's finger is slightly curved to one side, which seems to be common? How should I apply the tip? Go with the curve or try to make it look straight? Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Also, say I apply it crooked, what is the best way to correct this? TIA
You would have to remove and replace it. I would recommend making it look straight however you will likely need to clip off and reapply each appt to keep it looking like it is supposed to because the nail will naturally grow back crooked
Okay so I understand this video, but there’s one tiny problem: what if the glue spill onto the customer skin, what’s then? Do we just took off the whole fake nail and put another one on?
I just bought some to apply myself. Mine are huge or too small, the tip she applied looked like it was on her skin, like on her finger? Was it or did it just look like it?
You want to make sure the tip does go all the way from sidewall to sidewall. In the video, the tip looks like it's farther onto the skin than it actually is because the camera is so high definition. As you are sizing, you can file off the edges before adhering it to the nail if they hang over too far .
I bought this glue this week and i can not reccomend it what so ever! It has chemical burned and smoked like a fire on contact for 3 people already that wanted patch work ( with either fiber glass or tissue paper silk wrap.) it burned so bad they had to rip it of! i tried it myself and the burn is like hot metal to skin ! Watch the hell out with this hazard for patch work!
T Lomax definitely could. I find it easier to do on the nail, just remember to make sure you’re filing on the plastic to blend and not the natural nail.
Sheila Folan remember too if you are putting a Cover powder on you don’t need to stress if there is a small line..you won’t see it once the product is on.
I'm starting to do my own acrylic nails and I know I have a lot of learning to do what nail glue do you recommend I use?? Can I use super glue to glue my tips?
We are using our brand of glue. You need to hold it to the nail for a little bit. If you are trying to glue a tip onto a fake nail to practice, you have to hold it for longer as there is no body heat from a person to make it set faster.
Hi i been doing Nail tech for a year now and after I start noticing I have allergies extreme eczema. I want to see what’s your opinion Is There any cure ?or should I just stop doing this job ?
If you are having a reaction to the products, we recommend first consulting with your healthcare provider to determine exactly what you are having a reaction to. After that, you may be able to continue working wearing gloves, but you don't want to continue to make the reaction worse and more extreme.

Won't hold on very long. Tips are just the base in which to hold product. A tip alone likely wouldn't make it through a day

@@youngnailsinc Can I just apply polish on top without having to apply acrylic or gel? Thank you very much.
Would it make a difference if I use protein bond before placing the nail tip then using dehydrator and primer after the nail tip as well?
Yes, protein bond doesn't mix well with the glue so you don't want to apply it first.
Do you always have to trim the natural nail when doing tips?
amber hudson I would like to know this as well
A lot of nail people do that then later nails become loose, thank you for the correct way Tracy! You all are awesome!
