Definitely I care about audio quality I’m not interested in any of the additional features and that’s why this is perfect for person like me that just wants to enhance television performance and watch a decent movie.
Same here. I have a Sony Bravia xr TV with in build android TV. So I can stream my spotify or something else te te TV. En got Google home speakers also.
see you have a lg tv with the Sony soundbar - go to your audio settings on the lg tv and ensure bypass in set to on this may help with the delay when changing the volume - it may it may not but worth a check 🙌🏻
I’m not much interested in the smart features and, for me, the TV movies, shows and streaming is what I would use the soundbar for. I’ve already ordered it but should have done more research. I’ve got two concerns. The first is the volume control on the remote. That delay will probably be frustrating. The second is one I’ve seen on a different video and that’s that the dialogue on lower volume is hard to hear. Any thoughts on the second?
I am using optical cable instead of a HDMI cable and I have no noticeable delay on volume control. It does have impressive bass for a sound bar but a subwoofer would be a considerable improvement overall.
I’m trying to decide between this Sony HT-S2000 and the Sonos Beam Gen 2 for my GF’s Sony X90L 4K TV. I’ve got 2 Sonos Beam Gen 2’s and they’re great. However, the Sony is enticing because of its arguably better Dolby Atmos reproduction and better bass. I’m really torn between the two though. Peter Pee, in his review, gives the edge to the Sony when comparing the two. However, consumer reports ranks the Sony much, much lower than the Sonos and doesn’t recommend it. I really don’t care about the lack of WiFi or airplay as she uses an Apple TV and can always just airplay to it…and have it play through the Sony. With Black Friday coming up….if I can get the Sony for $299 or less I’ll probably go for it. However, if the Sonos get’s down towards $350…or lower….gonna be a tough call as the Sonos is a “known quantity” for me…since I have two. Tough decision.
Urgent question. I’m going to buy the sound bar but I need your suggestion. Can I use this/any other Dolby Atmos sound bar in a non-Dolby Atmos Tv? I mean when I play a Dolby Atmos content on Netflix from a non dolby atmos tv do you think I will experience Dolby Atmos effect? Or do I need to have Dolby Atmos enabled TV?
Something annoying with mine is that even if I turn off the auto standby function, when muted, it turns off. As a result the sound goes to the tv and it unmutes. Anyone any idea?
Hi, I have a question. I need a Soundbar just for Tv and movies (no music). Would You recommend this one (the Sony ht-s2000) or the Sony ht-g700 ?? Best regards Tommy
The Sony Bravia has all the smart features you might want, the sound bar is designed to accompany the tv. As for the sound delay that’s a hdmi issue, either try doing a hdmi reset or a different earc/arc hdmi cable.
No delay here. Got Sony Bravia TV and now this awesome sound bar. It's work like a charm. This two product communicate perfectly with each other

Exactly My Point!!

I want more seamless connect options ... So thank you for the beautiful review Mr. Martijn

What if you connect it to the Apple TV 4K, couldn't you use eARC to airplay to homepods?
Could I connect this to my projector via the Bluetooth? Thanks
Greetings. The Yamaha SRB20A is worth less than half the price. Would you say this one is worth it. Thanks.

Sonos is a bit overrated to be honest. It’s lacking bass and it’s expensive 😅

I could swear I have never heard of dolby atmos tv, the dolby atmos feature comes with the movie audio, hope this helps

First. The shuffle mode on USB and volume issue is a bit annoying. Perhaps Sony will send out a software update to fix the issue

Great price
No smart shit? PERFECT!
Hi!
Something is wrong with your soundbar, I just bought the same model and it does not have the volume issue.
I am planning yo buy this soundbar, wanted to know how is the dolby atmos output on this. Does it actually feel like the sound is coming from the top?
Sony or Bose Smart Soundbar 900 ?
