- We give full instruction on how to navigate the DJI Go app using the Phantom 4 platform. This may be a repeat with the Phantom 3; similar navigation. We hope that this is beneficial. DJI does a great job at tutorial videos, but we feel they could be just a bit more inclusive. We enjoyed using the new flight modes: TapFly and ActiveTrack. Not perfect, but nonetheless very useful! Especially the obstacle avoidance system, and the increased range of the VPS (Vision Positioning System). DJI products always in stock, www.tvspeciali...

This should be the "OFFICIAL" DJI tutorial video on getting started!
+Giovanni Lopez I thought it was at first :)
Thank you, glad it has been helpful!
SEE THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!....SOMEONE GOING THROUGH EVERY FEATURE EVERY OPTION AND SETTINGS...ECT YOU FUCKING ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked all over youtube for phantom 4 tutorials. This is one of the best so far. Thank You!
Just purchased a P4. This is the best instructional video I found. Thanks guys !
Excellent tutorial....just got my first drone, a Phantom 4 Pro v.2.0, and this helps tremendously before I make my first flight.
Best tutorial I have found for learning the DJI GO app. Even though a few years old. Thanks.
Best tutorial on RUclips!!!
Just had it delivered today , i will watch this over and over . Best ever !
I don't own a Phantom but if I ever do
This is the best guide that I'll ever find
keep up the good work
That's what I call a pro tutorial. Thanks!
One of the best Phantom 4 tutorials I watched yet. Thanks for all your hard work and I have subscribed to your channel.
A huge thank you. Just got my 4 pro today, never flown so im taking small steps. I plan my first flight sometime on the weekend. Just a fantastic video guys thanks.
That's what we like to hear! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Hi James. This is Ali from Kuwait. I just wanna thank you for the great presentation.
I might say, after researching everything there is on youtube (pretty well) this has got to be ,by far the very best. I recently bought the p4 Pro -v2 December/2020 and was leary, a tad about getting it right and then taking it out for a flight here in canada.this said, i will be a subscriber no doubt, Thanks very much for the great content, you folks over there have here for many. Iam positive of this and will take in all your know hows.~ (very much appreciated) cheers ~Dave Canada
Very helpful - thank you!! Wish I'd started with this instead of going through significant frustration trying to figure stuff out on my own (the manual seemed very marginal for answering questions). For those that are taking the (foolish) route I did, it is still worthwhile to 'back up' and watch this one!
James....Thanks for making these videos. I am new at this and your explanations are SO much clearer and more precise than anything that comes from DJI. Keep up the good work!
We appreciate the compliments! Don't forget to subscribe!
Wow, I liked it. I will also listen to your clip many times because I learn a lot. I bought a Phantom 4 and I'm waiting for it. I just sold my Phantom 3.
Many thanks, I will be ready to fly because your tutorial is great.
Very usefull, this should be the official tutorial and you guys getting paid by DJI. Thank's a lot!
We appreciate that, and glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching, and we welcome your subscribe!
Very very nicely done tutorial. You made things far more easy to understand than most tutorials I've seen (and I've seen tons). Keep up the great work. Super helpful! thank you.
Swipe up on the camera screen to go full screen with no metrics in the way. Not sure if that was covered or not. Great vid, I learnt a lot! thanks.
You're correct, and no, don't think that was mentioned in the video.
Nice video that carried everything needed for us noobs. I appreciate it very much. I read the manual but this was very nice to bring it all together. Thanks!!!!
Looking at getting a used DJI P4 locally so this video helped as a nice how to for testing out the drone.
Never know with used sellers.
Thanks again.
Very good info. Thank you for making this. I just purchase the Phantom 4 so everything you mention really helped. I have not flown it yet because of the weather, but I am ready!
Thaaaaank you.... I just purchased the Phantom 4... IL be watching this a few times I'm sure. 👍
Thanks for this great video especially at 25 min. When you explained how to upgrade the firmware . That was much better then in the manual
Great video with lots of information!
Thanks James, as a new user this was a real help.
Fantastic help to this NEW BOY, explained easily and perfectly
Awesomeness! Thanks for watching and we welcome your subscribe!
A very good tutorial, probably the best I have seen to date. Thanks,
Very nice compliment! Thank you for watching and we welcome your subscribe!
I have had this beautiful gem for less than a week and continue to learn things everyday. Thank you for the excellent detail, it really was helpful.
Great video mate and well explained and thanks...I am a newbie to Dji quads but reading on the official forums it has been said not to calibrate your compass every time you fly and not to calibrate even if you change areas. This is said to lead to an unwanted fly away. They say to only calibrate if your app asks for you to do it.This part is conflicting and am not sure what to believe now.
Very informative.... thank you
great job buddy! I'm a yacht broker and cant wait to try it out.
I agree with Giovanni, this tutorial should be included with every DJi P4, in fact, DJI, and Yuneek should both contract you to do videos on all their products...I own Phantoms and Typhoons, I would love to see you produce a video on the new Yuneek TH when it gets released later next month.
Excellent, thank you for that very very informative video, Left nothing to doubt. Loved it. Clears all doubts in my mind. Happy Landings.
good video... thanks for taking the time and effort to share with us....
Thank you, from a beginers point ov view, very interesting :-)
The current version of the software doesn't have the camera menu above the red record button that you mentioned. I'm sure it's somewhere else, but being a total rookie, you could save me a lot of time if you see this post and let me know where that menu is on the latest version of the software. Great tutorial. Many thanks!
You're right, they move things around since the this video was produced. It's found just below that record button. Thanks for watching, and we welcome the subscribe!
really nice, I know more about my P-4 after watching this. I subscribed and hope to learn more on the photography/video settings next.
great vid very detailed , im ready to fly
This was very good inexplnation thankyou
gee I know you have offered some great video's to help all phantom fliers, But in this video you recommend doing a compass calibration prior to every flight due to barometric pressure changes. Sure it is a good idea to do frequent compass calibrations although the compass is not at all effected by barometric pressure. It is simply a magnetic device. The crafts barometer is adjusted during the home-point setting isn't it?? regards, donnie
This was HUGELY helpful. Thank you.
Excellent, detailed narrative. Tks so much.
Great. Very helpful, actually that should read "essential for beginners". However for me it was not always obvious what was being tapped and I had to keep replaying, sometimes trying to work out where his finger was, behind the iPad, in order to be able work out what was being tapped.. Any chance of arrowing the tapped button on the video?
I read that you have to get the wifi + cellular version of the ipad 4 if you want to use the GPS for the "follow-me" tool or if you want to change the "return to home" location to your present location if you are moving while filming. Please advise. It's about $150 difference in price!
Very good video tutorial and presentation (that's press-en-tay-tion) UK (not pree-sen-tay-tion) USA LOL. only criticism is, do you have to show these at 3:00am as it is too early (only joking, I just finished night work) haha. I bought a second hand Phantom 4, around 3 weeks ago but not flown it yet, (bought a cheapo one to practice and get used to the controls) and I will be going to the UK DRONE SHOW at the NEC on 3rd December 2016 so hopefully get some goodies and tips from there as well.
Keep up the very good video's and I have subscribed. Excellent.
Thanks very much,is very helpful.
tnx for tutorial ....i have big problem to use intelegnt flight mode....
That was very helpful. Thank you
great tutorial
Great video! --It would be even better if they'd get the name of the company correct. "DGI" is easier to say than "DJI" I suppose?
+Ken Heron lol
Play purty, Ken.
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you.
Very good, thanks!
Thank you so much for this video
Correction to the section on compass calibration where James talks about Density Altitude. He is correct about calibrating your compass when changing locations, but the statement about density altitude affecting the compass is incorrect. Compass' read magnetic fields that surround the earth. The fields can be effected by local objects made of steel like cars. steel towers, power lines, metal bars in building and cement slabs etc., that is why calibration of the compass should be done in an open area away from building, cars etc. Density altitude only effects the altimeter the Phantom uses to determine the height above takeoff point. Density altitude is the effect heat, humidity, and the amount local pressure barometric pressure differs from the standard pressure of 29.92 inHg. What does density altitude effect, you may ask. Performance of the aircraft. The lower the density altitude i.e. the liner the air the less performance you get from the aircraft. In aircraft with wings this mean longer runways to take off, with rotor craft, more rpms of the rotors to hover and climb, slower ground speed at full throttle. All in density altitude means little to a sUAS that can only transvers a few miles and fly for an hour or less, because density altitude will change little within these limitations.
Richard, you are correct in that the compass directly receives no effect from density altitude. The only reason it's mentioned here is because the barometer is also being calibrated during a compass calibration. So when you are doing a compass calibration, at the same time you are calibrating the barometer to current atmospheric conditions. So yes, the compass calibration does effect it's performance, simply because the two are calibrated together. And In our experience, density altitude has most definitely effected our flight performance, at least in our area anyways; especially with with systems that don't have variable pitch for propellers. In our neck of the woods, we sit at 4600 feet, and driving only a mile or two could change that altitude by a few thousand. Also, Utah has funky weather. Could be 20 degrees in the morning, and by 1pm it's 60 degrees. These variations in altitude and temperature most definitely will effect the overall performance of any aerial system. Thank you for helping us clear up any confusion that our video may have caused if it was mis-worded. Thanks for watching!
TVS PRO . IKUT NYIMAK YAA OKE🙏🤝👍
Amen brother!
Really good review, well done 👏 one thing though when you are in sport mode going forward fast why don't you just point the camera further down to stop the props getting in the shot 👍
You absolutely can, but if your subject isn't down, but more forward this could be a problem.
Thank You :-) great tutorial helped me a lot.
You are great! Thank you So much better than Thi or whatever his name is
Very good tutorial.
Thank you! And thanks for watching! Please subscribe
Great Video!! Thanks.
I really want that drone.
Amazing tutorial! thank you sir
Can you help me out to activate the abstucle sensor in my phantom 4 2.0
Thx....I think you said an Apple TV with mirroring, based on question below? Nice videos.
Yes. Connected to the wifi network in the building, and then turned on airplay mirroring.
Great video. Please consider updating to 4 Pro/V2.0?
Excellently presented!
Really helpful - thanks guys.
Thans for this usefull info.
Thank you. Very helpful!
Very nice
Awesome tutorial... Thanks much...
Great video - very informative
This is an excellent overview...the phantom 4 is my first drone, and I continue to learn its feature set every time I review it. As an aside question, and from the perspective of a responsible hobbyist, have you ever found the need for a range finder? I ask as I'd like to input the distance to tree lines / objects when waypointing. Possibly overkill, just curious.
Very well done.
I haven't found the need for a range finder, but that's not a bad idea. Though, the reason why I haven't is because of the flight telemetry on the app. At the bottom of the screen you'll see things like "H", "V/S", etc. You'll also see "D", this means Distance, meaning Distance from it's home point. That is what I would use for a range finder type of use. Thanks watching, please subscribe!
Great instructions !
I can't find the gimbal wheel speed and some other functions. do you know where i can find them? ( I have a phantom4 and use a android phone)
Great instruction video. it helped me a lot.
awesome demo!
Hi. Great tute. Can you please explain the circle in the bottom left corner a bit more. How does it relate to my position? If I point the green (camera) towards the Center of the circle and hold forward will the drone fly towards me? Thanks.
The red arrow represents the direction of the craft, and the green represents the direction of the camera. With the Phantom 4, they will always move together and face the same direction. It doesn't have anything to do with it's position, that's what google maps is for. And the reason the circle is split black and blue, the blue represents the pitch of the aircraft. For example, if you travel forward, then you'll see the blue line move down. If you travel in reverse, meaning nose high, then the blue line will move up. Hope this is helpful!
Question please about your videos....
1) what is allowing you to both "shoot and show" your videos? What I mean is this...what software, camera and microphone setup is being used please...I'm trying to make teaching videos...and the GoPro's just don't cut it....especially for sound.
Thanks great info!
You're welcome! Please subscribe!
why plug the remote into the iPad? Isn't the wifi enough to fully connect?
Muy buena la explicacion, tengo una consulta, podria haber la posibilidad de traducirla al español?muy bueno, desde ya muchas gracias.
You said in this video that you will create another one for beyond the basics for Phantom 4.
Did you do it? I cannot find it. Thanks
We apologize, we have not. When customers purchase systems with us, we include an hours worth of one on one training in person. We offer those same one on one in person trainings at additional cost. If that's not of interest, we recommend contacting the dealer from whom you purchased the system. Thanks again for watching!
I would add that I liked the tutorial except the flight simulator . . . I cannot get it to show up or play. it would be nice if we all had it
Good evening, I have a phantom 4 pro, when I turn it off after 10 meters it lags and loses the image while I have a full signal
How does HD footage look compared to 4K? My computers and editing software are not compatible with 4K. Your thoughts? Thanks!
Awesome Video. it looks as if you have great GPS indoors?
Every building is different, but actually shocked to see the signal strength during this video.
Just got my Phantom 4 about 10 minutes ago. I'm concerned that there was a crack or chip of some kind that was repaired. Would anyone offer their assistance and take a look at a couple pictures and let me know what you think?
Very much appreciated
Question : will a Phantom 4 charger from the USA work in the Philippines on 220 volts. Thanks in advance.
It should, with an adapter.
That looks like you are on the Jordan River Parkway in SLC, no?
Ahh 14:53 you call it out, Utah!
I am having streaming difficulties from my Phantom 4 camera to my iPad mini. I get a lot of green space and stutters on the iPad when trying to view the video from the camera. I've tried two different devices, three different cords between the controller and the iPad, resetting the device to factory settings, even uninstalling and reinstalling the DJI GO app, all to no avail. Any suggestions?
Salut super vidéo ✅
Thank you so much! Very useful tutorial.
I have a question:
How can we disable VPS for indoor shooting?
Great video.. subscribed
Question: What format is better to record in? MOV or MP4? I use Adobe Premier for editing and eventually upload to youtube.
No right or wrong. They are both an h.264 60mbps recording. I'm a PC guy so typically I'm in mp4.
....THANKS A LOT, FOR YOUR WORK!!! Could you please help me with an question about the main differences between "DJI Phantom 4 vs. Yuneec Typhoon H"? And a important Thing for me is also the Image / Video Quality of theyr 4k cams compared? What i have seen by myself was the difference of the 4k (Phantom Standard) to the 4k Video of a Yuneek Q500. And it was no question, the 4k-Video of the Phantom3-4k was a lot sharper and cleaner (less noice etc). So what about Phantom4 vs. TyphoonH??? ...Please Help
Do you have to calibrate the compass every time you use the drone or when you change locations?
Podria hacerlo en español. Se lo agradeceriamos mucho. Gracias por adelantado
