Better day for it anyway plenty of mud about up here as well. Once again thank you for your time making these videos always makes my day all the best for next week
@@runtothetrails you’ve really got too much faith in us!! Personally I’ll be happy with anything under 16.5hrs meaning we finish before midnight. We’ll see 😂
Interesting route, you gained a surprising amount of elevation overall. So much lovely oozy mud. The best of luck with the 100 km route in the Lakes next weekend. Looking forward to watching the video.
How on earth did you find about this route? 😉 i would never have found it. Never even heard of Parbold Windmill and had to google it. Might have to plan a run for myself and check that out. One without mud though, like i said the other week....im seriously fed up of the stuff. 😇 Thanks for posting again you two. Best of luck next weekend.
This was something I saw on Facebook. It’s a route run by the Endurance Store and Marc Laithwaite (Lakeland 50/100) - www.theendurancestore.com/pages/the-beacon-bash However the route is also mentioned in other places like the LDWA so maybe not limited to the Endurance Store. It’s mostly parts of ‘Wigan’ that I haven’t been to. Oh and muddy. Very muddy!! Let’s see if Lakeland offers better terrain on Saturday 🤔
Thanks Greg. Looking forward to it. I think…lol We use Salomon Adv Skin 12 packs and have done for a while. Really like the fit and what they can hold. Couldn’t recommend them enough.
Another great video. MUD horrible real pulls on the calf’s 😩. You may have been asked this question before - Do you both ever run road racing. Also how many miles do you both run in a month?👍
Thanks, appreciate the view. Yes, mud and slop does impact the calves a little! We always try to avoid road running but can’t always and some training does occur on them. However we stopped doing road running events a few years ago in favour of far more interesting trail events. We both feel there’s less pressure too than in road marathons where the emphasis is on speed. We probably average 40 or so miles a week, sometimes more. 2023 for example has us averaging 43 miles a week having just gone over 500 miles for the year to date.
Hi, route wise we do a few things. We search for events and then find GPX files for the routes, get ideas from other Strava users or mostly plot our own routes using Plotaroute and then upload to our watches. There’s an app called All Trails which contains a lot of routes too and will highlight ones local to you.

Hi just a quick question, we are local to wigan what website do you use if any to find new routes?
