Definitely got serious dedication ,
I watched the video with you and your dad , about him going bk to school , how he explained about HIS passion , you just make time for it , can see where you got your spring from man ! Absolutely amazing
Excellent video! Thanks so much, Kenny! I'mm 44 years old, and have just made a career pivot to coding / tech. I couldn't be more excited to have become a member of such a vibrant community, and workforce!
Man I just got into programming and I be really vybing with this video... I recently became intrigued by coding due to no stop ideas I've been having... i'm just imagining how awesome it'd be to work on some of these projects with someone that has so much experience and understanding in this area...
Man the production quality of your videos are l337.
Glad I found you brother, cheers

Great vid as always Kenny - wish you the best with any and all future endeavors :D
That helps alot i m at starting at this journey🔥 felling motivated
Amazing! I hit the like as soon as the video started, totally worth it .
Congrats man very cool to hear stuff like this. You are years ahead of me. Wish i never would've given up coding and learning new languages. Kudos dude!
RUclips algorithm pays off! BTW, I loved your Adaptability dude. Love from India❤️
I wasn't a kid, but I learned basic HTML using MySpace also. In 2019, I quit my 5-year job to do a full-time coding bootcamp (in person) and, man, I sucked at that. Failure shook me, and I'm still building myself back up to try relearning EVERRRYYYTHING all over again.

I want to thank you for sharing your journey through the years of coding. I know I am posting this on a releatively old video now. But I am trying to make the move to programming right now. When mentioned AWS, JavaScript & React now. This is what I have been learning.. I am 21, in a building services apprenticeship in the UK. But I don't feel furfilled by the work I do. Where I find coding to be a constant learning curve. Where the challenges are constantly evolving and developing. Thank you.
Extremely cool how you progressed so fast. Im having a very similar start (although I'm much slower at learning things). Started an internship as a web developer but was tasked with creating an android app. I hope to be as good as you someday.
You've had an amazing journey so far, I'm sure theres still alot more left and I'm damn sure you gonna do some wonderful things. Wish you the best mate. Cheers
Thanks homie, that really made my day 🍻 🍻
@@kennygunderman hi! Can't find that course you mentioned in video. Can you send me a link pls?

Another great video!
You seem like a great kid. I am proud to see you find what you like and stick with it. Great Job!!
Love your goals bro, i too am a self-made programmer, I have this whole year learned android using Angular for Ionic.....programming is the stuff.
This is amazing you're so young and knowledgeable
Thanks for sharing your journey 👍
My journey is a bit longer than yours (15 years), but I have to say that things are changing way faster now in comparison to when I started.
Which is expected.
Its just anyone begging their career is probably feeling overwhelmed with the amount of things they need to learn.
You actually helped me out a lot!!! Thanks man! I’m done with html and css now on to Java script
So good!! Love ur narratives. Insights/reflections like this are a big motivator for people earlier on. Looking forward for ur ten year recap :)
Thanks Dave 🤘🤘🤘
when you said the words "be humble" you're not just developing your skills seems like you're also learning life's greatest values. good luck
Just starting my journey, I’ve learned a bit of java and i can’t wait to continue
what a great video . It was very informative and I loved the edit . thanks for the great content 🙏🔥
Amazing Journey! Thanks for sharing this
OMG - I have exactly same journey till March 2020 !!! Right from 2016 - Also, starting HTML in schooling and working on Android etc

This guy is literally the most relatable I've ever found on RUclips. I am also a 20 yo Android dev (Java) who just did an intern and has an offer for the summer. I've personally always felt how far behind I am in front of all these God-tier RUclipsrs, but this guy was the first to show me that you don't need to work in 10+ companies in college itself and have an app with a million downloads and that even slow and steady progress over time can do wonders. Thanks, Kenny for showing the reality that actually most of jr/mid-tier coders can relate to.
Thats awesome! I just turned 18, and with no knowledge of code...I wish I could have started early 2000s, seems like there's a new language every year, so much to learn.
23 learning to code.

Hey awesome. I have just started learning android development natively using java. I wanted to ask that if you could advise any new technology I should learn after this to climb up the ladder on the route to becoming an awesome android developer
Well, in reality slow but regular = fast. Changes take time and patience is the key
wonderfully said, "be open to new tech, new ideas, be humble, but enjoy your journey." I look forward to seeing where this field will take you in the future.
Insane video editing, respect!

Kenny - first video I have ever seen from you and this was pretty inspiring. I'm 18 as of now and am graduating with my A.S. in IT in a little over a month. I still feel like I know so little but I guess it's a journey after all! I subbed and liked and can't wait for more content!
Congratulations bro!! Thanks for the sub 😎
I like your professional sound and video skills. There is no technical issue I could point out or ask to have it fixed. 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing the experience bro;
Am really motivated.
its so nice to see your journey, as a begginer in programing its interesting to have a direction. Also how you focused on one thing at the time during various periods and created lots of stuff, hope I get there one day :)

"be open to new tech" 🙌
As a fellow SE that went college degree route, our roots and beginnings were the same. I'm just a little bit older than you but damn it if myspace, livejournal, and PC gaming didn't expose me to what I didn't know at the time would be my passion and my career lol. I've met a few dozen self-taught and plenty more college grads in the industry, but one of the rare defining qualities among SEs are desire/hunger/passion for learning new tech, tools, frameworks, etc. I found my niche after around the 5 year mark, been highly specialized since but I genuinely miss being the floating resource eager to get his hands on anything and everything. Good stuff!
Thanks for RUclips showing this video to me. I start learning to code (C language which I think I should know well as the basic coding language) last year because I want to change/advance my career path as a PR guy. Not sure if I am too late to start because I am 36 now. Although I am not as young as you, your video is inspiring. Thank you again.
Holy shit, I just found your channel but your editing is amazing.
Thank you for this video. I just started a on my tech career a year ago after learning a python course. Now I am still consistently learning and still feel pretty inadequate. Kinda burnt out but I will pick myself up to continue in this industry
What laptop do u use?
Wow!!! This is really helpful to me as i am currently at a cross-road. I am finding it really hard to get a college degree as i have dropped out of 3 universities. I am now on a road to self-discovery and this has really help to lighten up the path a little bit. Thank you for that, brother. :)
Congratulations ! Well done
5 years and ive learnt the following:
- how to make a barely functional discord bot
still better than me and most other people lmao
Whats ur bot’s name? I would like to check it out
dont know about u but i have made a telegram bot named fking great
I have made a bot that has the functions of 3 different bots
Hi guys, im new to this what is the purpose of a bot please. Id like to design a app or bot if this is correct, to connect to my students can you help
LOVED THE VIDEO!!! Just got subbed!
I am a CS student myself and am looking for coop/intership opportunities . I really want to ask how did you cope up with different technologies at such a fast pace? Did you seek help from colleagues, was it a single man effort? What was the procedure like and how did it feel?
At a university, we have a guided way of learning but how is it in a work environment?
I hope this is also a good idea for a video.
Man I can really relate to your story. Thanks for sharing.

One of the hardest things is telling your own story. And you've done it flawlessly. I've learned a lot from it. Glad to hear from an industry insider!
Thank you for the inspiration!!!
now, this is content! thank you for sharing
22 years here. :) Great video.
Here's what I can say, and pretty much in line with the video:
- be open to learn.... Don't label yourself as a "Java" or ".Net" developer, any good developer should be able to pick up on a new language/framework (unless it's something really specific..... Like mobile)
- be humble. No one likes a know it all, who definitely doesn't know it all
- listen to other's ideas, just because you know a certain way to do something doesn't always mean that's the best way, listen, compare and debate the solution
- older devs: sorry, dev ops is kind of your job now, you're going to have to learn at least the basics of Kubernetes or others at some point
- best advice for the wanna-be architects: find a well known/well written framework - react, angular - whatever- even a framework for your tech of choice. clone it, and dissect it. Step through the code and see how things fit together, and why.....
I'm starting a remote meetup for devs to cover Architecture and various full stack topics.. I will also be letting anyone who wants to host it teach the topic of their choice 🤓 .... Post details soon...
Anyway great video man!
I'm 16 and learning to code full time.... Good luck to everyone who just started their journey to code too!

Idk why you have so less subscribers..you contents are great
Very well said! I think it’s easy to say you want to focus on back end or front end, but the reality is you need to be good at both. I’m just starting out, but I’m coming into this career with excitement. I know it’ll be mentally challenging. But it’s fascinating.
U did achieve a lot bro, I'm starting my coding trip kinda late cuz I'm 17 now but I'll do my best to get it right asap.
17 is far from late.. I am 36 so have been hyper aware of any success stories from people who are older and there are so many. If you start focusing at 17, I truly have no doubts you will succeed!
You the real Minimum Viable Product for posting these man. I've been feeling lost about where to focus my efforts over the past few years and watching this really helped me decide what I wanted to do. Most of my experience was really just dicking around with C and Perl and now I'm learning Python. Thanks to this video I figured out what I want to learn next (Java, then mobile app dev).
Nice! I personally love mobile dev, I think you’ll enjoy it 😎 let me know how it goes my man

I really regret not taking the opportunity to work in the tech industry as you had at an early age. I'm now 34 years old this year and only started working in the tech industry for a little over 3 years now. If I had started early like you did I would be making that $$$$$.
