Imagine how overpowered of a wizard Hagrid would have been had he had 7 years of Hogwarts education, and his proper wand in one piece. Hagrid as a full educated wizard with a wand and knowing how to duel on top of being a tank to most spells would be a very hard person to take down by most wizards.

Seems to me that Hagrid is very much on most people's radar as far as their favourite characters go... (unless you meant "undervalued, within the Harry Potter universe").
Hagrid is my second favorite character in the HP series (behind Fred and George). He is such a kind, down to earth, caring and brave soul. He was always so kind and helpful to Harry and his friends, especially being protective of and always there for Harry when he needed him. I also truly appreciate everything Dumbledore did for Hagrid (one of the reasons I like Dumbledore) and Hagrid's loyalty to Dumbledore and to all he cared about was so sweet. Honestly, I wish Harry would've named one of his children after Hagrid, I mean it's the least Harry could've done after everything Hagrid has done for him, plus how close they have been for his whole life. Snape didn't deserve to be named after one of Harry's kids considering how he bullied Harry, his friends and other students for years and Harry never liked him anyways, so it doesn't make sense why one of his kids wasn't named after Hagrid.
Fred and George are two characters not one lol. And Severus absolutely deserved to have Harry's child named after him. He literally gave his life up for Harry. He truly regretted who he had been as a Death Eater, and he didn't really bully Harry so much as just dislike him. But despite that, he gave up everything to keep Harry safe, and went to enormous lengths to ensure he could defeat Voldemort-all out of a duty he felt to Lily. He was a complex man, and I think he definitely redeems himself in the end. He may have targeted the trio some as a way to take points away from Gryffindor, but I'd hardly call that bullying. Also I'm pretty sure Hagrid is still alive when Harry's children attend Hogwarts. And while you can name a child after an important person to you who is still alive, it's arguably more common in fiction at least to name them after someone who died. It's symbolic.
Hagrid is without a doubt one of the most precious character in the HP series. I wish Albus’ middle name was Rubeus bc no one looked after and cared for Harry like Hagrid did.
Personally I don't think so, but I am a little biased because Snape is my favorite character. But I do agree that Hagrid cared deeply about Harry. Maybe Harry and Ginny got a pet and named him after Hagrid. After all, that'd be a bit more fitting, considering Hagrid's love for all creatures. :P

If you think about it, Hagrid was just the info characters, but still so much more. Having a kind heart and loving soul, he’d do anything for the ones he loved. He might’ve seemed tough, but if his friends and family get hurt, much like a unicorn, his anger knows no bounds. He was more loyal than anything, resembling Fluffy’s relation to him. There is a theory I love (I do not take credit for it), where Hagrid is allowed to go back to Hogwarts and finish his schooling as an adult. However he is have a lot of trouble producing a patronus, Harry hears about this and tutors Hagrid, just as Lupin had tutored him. Finally, Hagrid produced a patronus which brought tears to Harry, because Hagrid patronus was in the form of a familiar snowy owl. Hagrid looked at Harry, tears beginning to well in his eyes, "I was the one who brought her to yeh, and it was my fault she left. Chris Thurber I think they can only ever have one wand throughout their life span , no wand is the same and the wand chooses their wizard or witch, also his wand WAS broken so he couldn’t exactly use it anymore which I’m guessing is why he used an umbrella as a wand but obviously since it’s an umbrella it can’t really preform many spells that a wand can but then again Hagrid CANT preform many spells because he never finished his schooling at Hogwarts

Actually since Harry got to name James and Albus, Ginny got to choose Lily Luna's name and named her after one of her close friends Luna, thats why her middle name is Luna. In my headcanon though I gave Harry and Ginny another daughter named Ruby Molly, after Rubeus Hagrid and Molly Weasley.

Hagrid is my second favorite character in the HP series (behind Fred and George). He is such a kind, down to earth, caring and brave soul. He was always so kind and helpful to Harry and his friends, especially being protective of and always there for Harry when he needed him. I also truly appreciate everything Dumbledore did for Hagrid (one of the reasons I like Dumbledore) and Hagrid's loyalty to Dumbledore and to all he cared about was so sweet.
Honestly, I wish Harry would've named one of his children after Hagrid, I mean it's the least Harry could've done after everything Hagrid has done for him, plus how close they have been for his whole life. Snape didn't deserve to be named after one of Harry's kids considering how he bullied Harry, his friends and other students for years and Harry never liked him anyways, so it doesn't make sense why one of his kids wasn't named after Hagrid.

And Severus absolutely deserved to have Harry's child named after him. He literally gave his life up for Harry. He truly regretted who he had been as a Death Eater, and he didn't really bully Harry so much as just dislike him. But despite that, he gave up everything to keep Harry safe, and went to enormous lengths to ensure he could defeat Voldemort-all out of a duty he felt to Lily. He was a complex man, and I think he definitely redeems himself in the end.
He may have targeted the trio some as a way to take points away from Gryffindor, but I'd hardly call that bullying.
Also I'm pretty sure Hagrid is still alive when Harry's children attend Hogwarts. And while you can name a child after an important person to you who is still alive, it's arguably more common in fiction at least to name them after someone who died. It's symbolic.

Personally I don't think so, but I am a little biased because Snape is my favorite character. But I do agree that Hagrid cared deeply about Harry. Maybe Harry and Ginny got a pet and named him after Hagrid. After all, that'd be a bit more fitting, considering Hagrid's love for all creatures. :P
SoapyTurtles I think Snape did everything he did for Harry because he loved his mother and he was destroyed when she died. He didn't really care for him he even hated him a little because he looked so much like his father. So maybe they should named him Albus Rubeus and not Albus Severus.
Nena in the beggining of the HP movies he cared most for him because dumbledore want him too and because he truly loved Lily, but in the later movies he grew into like the boy and care for him so i think severus fits better but i get your and all others points.

If you think about it, Hagrid was just the info characters, but still so much more. Having a kind heart and loving soul, he’d do anything for the ones he loved. He might’ve seemed tough, but if his friends and family get hurt, much like a unicorn, his anger knows no bounds. He was more loyal than anything, resembling Fluffy’s relation to him. He was scruffy and powerful, much like Norbert. All his personalities can match up to the creatures that he had cared for over the years.

There is a theory I love (I do not take credit for it), where Hagrid is allowed to go back to Hogwarts and finish his schooling as an adult. However he is have a lot of trouble producing a patronus, Harry hears about this and tutors Hagrid, just as Lupin had tutored him. Finally, Hagrid produced a patronus which brought tears to Harry, because Hagrid patronus was in the form of a familiar snowy owl. Hagrid looked at Harry, tears beginning to well in his eyes, "I was the one who brought her to yeh, and it was my fault she left. Figured this'd help carry her legacy"
