    I will say, I agree with don’t bother with knock offs. I own the pro, the elite ( due to noise factor) and purchased the mini as well. Unless you need to take a gun to work a team or have the battery switch option while on a field. It’s not needed. & as much as you say the mini isn’t as high amplitude in power, it’s still quite effective & better tolerated by a large percentage of my people . The dual head attachment with dampeners are a game changer for many clients. Love Theragun line. Thank you for such a great overview. Best I come across yet.

    I’ve tested 7 different guns including the Prime, Mini 2.0, Xiaomi, Xiaomi mini, Aukey Naipo, and two cheap knockoffs. I’ve also watched about 50 reviews.
    The Mini (12mm amplitude) is perfect for anyone who doesn’t need large muscle groups deep massages. Too hard on the small muscles like the neck area, tends to bounce. Very portable, very quiet. You can use this while watching tv with the family. Feels almost as heavy as the prime. Will fit in a large laptop bag.
    The Prime (16mm amplitude) is supreme for quads, glutes, calves, and on arms and shoulders and back is as effective as the mini. It will also hurt you in smaller muscles/bony areas. You can watch tv but it will be noticeable and will disturb others. Irrelevant though - you use it for 2 min and probably before exercise. Somewhat portable. Will not fit into a laptop bag but will into a gym bag.
    Mid range (‘Aukey’ massage gun) has +-10mm amplitude but can hit 3000rpm so it’s perfect for the smaller muscles like neck and bony areas, and even your forehead and face. Very light and portable. High quality feel.
    The Xiaomis felt very sleek and high quality. I’m sure the battery will last years and goes for hours. But ultimately the big one was noisy and much less powerful than the Aukey but priced the same (about 40% the price of the Prime). The mini is, strangely, priced the same as the larger Xiaomi but is truly feeble. Feels nice to hold but it isn’t going to do much.
    The knockoffs were comparable to the mini Xiaomi but poor quality. They have tiny amplitudes so just skin deep vibrations. Stay away, trust me you’ll just put them in a drawer and forget they exist. Could be a nice present for grandma though.
    I kept the Prime and the midrange, I lift weights + run and the Prime is the business… midrange is used for lymph nodes and tension relief and smaller muscles. And when travelling. Great for neck, arms. For reference I’m 177cm, male, 80kg, 12% bodyfat, 37 years old. If the mini had a 14mm or higher amplitude it would be THE ONE. Really like it but not quite effective where I need it.
    So if you are thin, get the mini. You’ll love it. If you are muscular or need deep work on glutes/quads, get the Prime. If you need tension relief, get a high rpm and shallower amplitude but not below 8mm in my estimation.
    Aukey has the best battery life, both Theraguns only last about 45min on a charge but it has no real impact on the experience. Couldn’t stall the mini / prime / Aukey without hurting myself. So that’s irrelevant. Hope that helps.

    Remember that the pro offers a higher stall force for those who have a bit more muscle. The pro is good for serious athletes. As well the battery accessory is actually more important than you think. I have the 4th gen pro. I see benefits to the most recent version that has infrared,heat and cold attachments. Theragun pro plus I think.

    I had the mini, it was not powerful enough.
    The elite really does the trick for Me using my friend's.
    Ordering on Amazon currently I don't see the elite listed but I see the sense.. is the sense the new elite?

  • @mikeholbrook8639
    @mikeholbrook8639 Год назад +4

    Don't disagree with the assessment. I bought an Elite for $280. Has 20 more pounds of stall pressure than the Prime. Figure the motor may last longer. You also get 1 more attachment - they aren't inexpensive. I also like the LED. Couldn't see any justification for the Pro, unless you use it as a business tool. Has more pressure, another attachment, and the 2 batteries (you need to keep track of). The only reason I considered it was for the adjustable head. But if you are using it on yourself, I couldn't see how it helped.

      This is not correct..prime has 30 pounds while elite 40. Difference is 10 not 20 pounds. I got elite and its very hard . I think that difference between elite and prime is tiny and unobservable

    Both version 5
    Also the elite has higher stall force rating than the prime.
    30 lbs prime, 50 lbs elite.

    Can you use this on your back? I’m having a hard time understanding how one would be able to reach knots on your back comfortably

    • @mikeholbrook8639
      @mikeholbrook8639 Год назад +2

      For upper back - Use the reverse grip at the very end. Also, use the opposite hand - Left for right side, etc. You can use the other hand to press down on the top for more pressure. For lower/mid back - again, use the reverse grip at the very end, in the opposite hand, and use the other hand to press down on the top of the unit into the back for more pressure.

    Have you ever measured Prime battery life? I just bought one and with minimum power the battery lasts about 55 minutes. It's so bad

    • @moderatelyfit
      @moderatelyfit  2 года назад

      I'd be curious to hear more about your thoughts around the battery life. Do you typically travel? Share the Prime with others? I personally haven't needed to use the Prime for 55 straight minutes. Usually I can make time to charge it but definitely interested to hear how this battery life impacts you!

    • @moderatelyfit

      Great feedback, I appreciate it! So a massage gun is mainly used for sore or tight muscles. When you use a massage gun, you typically have a quicker recovery from workouts and a lot of people find quick stress/headache relief from tight neck and shoulder muscles. Theraguns are known for their high powered punch, which leads to better results when used on your muscles. Hope that helps!
