Imagine living a life so filled with cool and interesting moments that you don't remember if you've ever played with John Prine. That's why we love Kenny.
John Prine had the Irish guitar player in the eighties band line up called Philip Donnelly , known here in Ireland as the Clontarf Cowboy. He used to have a red strat .
Love cousin Kenny! Got to see him with Marty Saturday night. What a show! Man, that purple sparkly suit and that blue cowboy hat, those boys sure put on the ritz. 🤠 Thanks, Otis!
The last coupla minutes, of when Townes is telling Marty Stuart how he's figured it all out, lol. He just drives to Kansas City and plays a show. So perfect! I think I hear Otis say, "Life in a nutshell." Is there any better snapshot of the reality those guys lived? Priceless stuff, thanks to Otis getting it to us.
Thank you Otis! ❤️ RIP JOHN PRINE. Forever missed. John Prine will never be forgotten! What a talent! Love you all and the sweet, kind Steve Goodman. Such dear men. ❤
Thanks a ton Mr. Otis. ... Another great interview. Entertaining & informative - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🤔 Kenny Vaughn might actually be my favorite outta your consistent guests. ... Great stuff all around 🤠
Jason Wilbur is also an excellent guitarist who accompanied John Prine for many years. Jason is also an exceptional singer/songwriter on his own. Miss John Prine 😢RIP 😇
you have one of the most entertaining, insightful and just plain enjoyable channels in this cesspool. I think you missed your calling as a documentarian. Or have you?? Thanks again Otis.
Love Kenny stories. Bet 5-1 the Prine CMT show was the show he did Speed of Loneliness. He had Phil on lead making a beautiful Hawaiian sound bending the strings and a drummer using bongo set to keep time. Great performance as always.
There's a reason Kenny got to stay after hours at the Bluebird... he's a world class player and raconteur like the rest of those guys hanging out and yakking. Imagine the repartee...!!
Through your interviews with Kenny, I've come to learn that he's one coolest, laidback, knowledgeable and talented guys around. What a great hang he'd be. I think the Superlatives are in town tomorrow. Unfortunately
everyone blessed with seeing prine live after tree of forgiveness came out (adding like Laaaaavon Helm Prine was yet enoguh example of someone battling cancer told he may never be able to play sing again nor live as long as they did) got the memorable life affirming amazing delight of seeing that prine dance off stage to lake marie ooooooooooh baby we gotta go nooooow even babies like to chaaaa chaaaa top of the world maaaa.... described in stories and song so well by rev todd snider.....amazing! thanks brother otis kenny priners - SJOCR
As a fan of everyone spoken about in this video I am dumbfounded that I've never heard of, or at least not remembered the phrase, "The Great Credibility Scare". Kenny is always great. As are you, Otis.

You don’t hear the O Kanes mentioned very often. I always enjoyed them. Saw them with Jerry Clower and George Jones at a state fair show years ago.

Wondering what that means
He's being facetious about a brief moment in time when the best artists were also the most popular.@@billbaum1706
