Through tireless agriculture policy efforts and innovative, incentive-based habitat programs such as Working Wetlands, Delta conserves critical habitat for nesting ducks.

Delta strives to answer questions that are critically important to ducks and duck hunters throughout North America, and all of our programs are rooted in sound science.
HunteR3
HunteR3 is Delta Waterfowl’s bold new initiative to boost the number of waterfowl hunters in North America. The name “HunteR3” is derived by combining Delta’s position in the waterfowl world as “The Duck Hunters Organization” with the wildlife-agency world term “R3.” The abbreviation R3 stands for recruitment, retention and reactivation. HunteR3 is Delta’s programmatic initiative to recruit, retain and reactivate waterfowl hunters throughout North America.
I'd like to say hello to my southern waterfowl hunting brothers and sisters, greetings from Ontario Canada.
I just returned home from my yearly Northern Manitoba Duck Trip. Amazing. Lots of birds holding up here north of the border as it was a late harvest in the prairies.
Also just got word today even farther West (Friends in Alberta+Sask) that there's tons of Birds. Mallies/Pins and Widgeons are holding there as well.
Good News for all of you south of the border is really the end of your season may prove more fruit full again with the later than usual harvests and flooding in Manitoba and Sask.
Cheers
Thanks for your comment! 😍 We appreciate your positivity for hunters and the upcoming season!
Louisiana Report: NO BIRDS 😂
Maybe not just yet. Soon.
@@DeltaWaterfowl I was just picking. Here is to hoping for a 1997ish season.
Times is real tough here in NJ. No water for these birds to land on.
Sad to hear it Brian. The numbers seem better there this year compared to the interior US, but they have to have water to be able to keep on.
2 or 3 ducks in Minnesota .... go get em boys!
Better than zero! 🤪
Here in AK we are finally getting cooler and weather and migrators are moving in from the slope and Western AK. The first Arctic air mass is moving through so that should really push them down here to southern AK. Our season will be winding down when our lakes lock up here in a couple of weeks then y’all down south can have your turn at them. Good luck this season everyone.
Guys shining for deer 2 nights ago burnt down over half the marsh. Set the weeds on fire to chase them out. It was blowing for 2 days looks like no man’s land out there now. South western Ontario. Birds were good teal woodys and some mallards.
Glad to hear things are beginning in the Pacific Flyway! Send them on down!
This is one of the reasons that "responsible" becomes the key modifier when talking about getting new hunters.
Theirs tons of wood ducks down in central Missouri. Had a teal hunt during a thunderstorm and limited out on teal and saw about 200 wood ducks land on a tiny pond in front of us
Thanks for sharing your local update, Josh! Good to hear!
Hi guys, thanks. Nobody talked about the catastrophic reproduction ppurcentage of the north east snows this year due to strong predation. Just got back from a annual snow geese hunting trip in Province of Quebec and the number of juvenile is so low, it's crazy. Only wise adults in the sky.
Long term weather is calling for another strong La Nina. Above average snow and precipitation up north and opposite in the south, western to eastern U.S. Still like California in Washington as far as weather goes. The hot air in the west is pushing the cold to the east. Shout out to Millard, he is a bad-ass.
Millard is quite brilliant! The weather system this year will indeed be a bit different than 'normal'. We hope that it will provide enough moisture for good breeding grounds come spring time.
Northern idaho has been keeping me busy enough.
Glad to hear things are looking good in your area, Lucas!
Im 3miles south of canada in northeastern minnesota. Lots of woodies, and lots of rimgnecks around. Nearly zero mallards. Soon....
@Andy Gibbs yeah some resident birds around but as far as migrators go its crickets around here.
Thanks for the local update! Those are just important as the regional ones we can provide!
@@DeltaWaterfowl as of today the first larger flights of mallards are being seen(25+). Woodies are gone. Ringnecks are thick.a good amount of goldies and buffs starting to trickle in. 3mi south of canada by international falls.
I was in Northern WI for the opener....there were no birds...no wood ducks, no mallards....nothing much...a few stragglers here and there..... no acorn crop to keep woodies around....probably one of the worst openers I've experienced....there was water....a little dry but nothing awful.
I heard 3 shots opening morning light and not another shot the rest of the weekend did I hear....usually sounds like a mini war.
That's really too bad, Kevin. Sad to hear. We have a few employees in the area that are doing a hunt there this week. I'll have to see what they report back when their trip is over.
@@DeltaWaterfowl I'm back up this weekend and start of November for northern push of divers and mallards. Hopeful that will turn thing around.
Estupendas cazerias amigos saludos chebres caza 👌👍
Saludos!
Central Oklahoma is dry. We desperately need rain. We are still several weeks out from our opener.
As Garrett mentioned, the central PPR needs some storms to come through to make things enticing for the birds when they start coming down!🙏
Washington has a couple spots full of ducks north western Washington has a ton of ducks and Canadas just starting to move and the Colombia river areas are starting to get a bunch of ducks and southwestern Washington has about 8000+ ducks and a few geese that nested out on the tidal waters and a couple small groups of specks
Lmao I know you ain’t counting
Go ahead and make that 7993 ducks after opener! ;)
😂LOL👍
Thanks for your local update, Madden! Good to hear!
Specks just showed up in arkansas
Good to hear, Huckleberry McSenderton! It means they are on their way!
@@DeltaWaterfowl smashed em during early speck. It was fantastic
Big cold front coming to minnesota with a full moon, should have a push some birds south
We got that a bit here too in ND. Season is definitely on the move!
Cold snap made the woodies and teal move on from my area of wi. Lots of mallards around
What area of Wisconsin are you at
That's some positive news in Wisconsin. Lots of people asking about the state lately!
Tennessee report:no duck and geese
Seems like it may be a little early and too warm yet for TN. A bit longer to wait. :(
Delta marsh MB update lots of fucking birds!
Lots of birds is a good thing. They will eventually come down.
Why just a report on Western Canada and not on central and east?
Partially it depends on the time of the year being important for each location. We will have all regions included through the season, as long as there is something to say and someone to say it.
Y'all need a rep in CO! :)
We do have a rep that covers the territory, but he has other states to cover as well. If you're involved in your local club, maybe sometime we'll have to call on you to give a report!
@@DeltaWaterfowl I am in co and hunt a ton. Feel free to reach out.
what about texas
Not too many birds have flown down that far yet. I believe they will be getting reports as the season goes along.
We need the guy at 3 mins to come and tell out chief and council what to do. They won’t listen to the hunters and guides but now if a white man comes in and says the same thing they will listen. First problem quit burning the marsh in duck season. 2 nights ago it happend.
You can reach out to Garrett or our policy team if the chief and council have questions.
@@DeltaWaterfowl they need a slap upside the fn head. They are killing the only resource our Rez has. We used to guide here for generations this generation will kill it. I was just passed the day I saw your video because we just got done racing to get our boats out of the marsh because of guys lighting it up to chase deer out in a 30 mph wind. They prolly burnt up more deer then what get shot out here. Thanks for the reply though.
🇪🇨🇪🇨👏👍
What about Ohio 😂
We'll get some ducks there eventually....😗
@@DeltaWaterfowl well how do I join? 😂
