I just Tweeted on how as we age we should start concentrating on movements. Benching 1000 pounds is great, so is running a 5 minute mile but hey won't matter if we cannot get up of the couch, tie our shoes, etc.
PowerWeight Training Agreed! I learned the same thing when I switched from weightlifting to bodyweight exercise. Didn't realize how poor my mobility was until I needed it.
@@MinusTheGym I am still learning that. At 48 I was still able to run a solid sub 6 minute mile easily but after long run workout I could barely walk. Had to put an end to it. Started lifting, stretching, moving, etc. While I miss running I feel 10 years younger now.
As a 20 year old I used to run up to 50 miles a week and gym every other day...now at 38 having done very little training the last ten years until last year when I decided to take up kick boxing I can vouch this is sound advice haha. It's taken me nearly a year to get to a point where I can sit cross legged for more than 5 minutes
@@giantsofold6567 nice. I am thinking about doing a martial art of some sort. I think it would be fun. Also, plan here it to do some more open water swimming this summer. Fun, zero impact activity.😁 Former Power2Weight, now @FitAfter50
The (usual) added value of your videos is that you are never in a hurry, that makes spectators at their ease. I been watching the very same positions and flows for one year, performed by other trainers, but everything looked so complicated. No surprise you got favorable feedbacks. All hail, Mr Minus "Fitch" The Gym! ;-)
I just commented a short time ago but had to leave another. I'm so excited about your channel. It really has everything I've been needing. Thank you again.
Amazing tutorial! These are very illuminating and mobility-enhancing movements. I’ll try to create a simple flow and go from there. Thanks heaps! Cheers!
Been doing these as my dynamic warm-up before hockey games. Gotta admit it really gets me loose. Better than my old warm-up. Thank you for this great video.
Your shirt is excellent. This video was exactly what I needed. After 6 months away from calisthenics I've been trying to pick a good assortment of movements to reestablish my strength and Mobility at the beginning of every workout. I've been watching at least 2 of your videos every day since I subscribed. Thank you for your work.
Thank you for this video. I was originally looking at primal movements and this is by far the best video because it shows me a lot of positions I didn’t know existed.
great video.. what I like is that you show us without all the "don't do this or that if you can't" .. what would be nice is if you can do a follow along routine with these movements thx
I enjoyed both videos a lot because there is no such clearly labeled primal movement videos. I put a mobility day similar to a stretch day between my strength training days!
I hurt my left ankle running down a hill over New Year’s. I think it’s posterior tibial tendinitis. When I get into the deep squat my left ankle dives inward and has a sharp pain. Will turning my ankle outwards (straight) and enduring the pain help me in the long run? Your channel is absolutely awesome. Not only are you an accomplished in your life, but your character also comes through in your presentation. 🙏
My man moves like a video game character 🤯 At one point I was sure it had to be slo-mo and checked the cars but they were moving normally hahah. Awesome example of how much strength and control this can give!
Great timing, I just recently started taking mobility more seriously. Any chance you could make a video where you show an entire flow of movements chained together? Would be super useful because the large number of different movements is a bit overwhelming and it's hard to come up with a good routine. Awesome video, thanks for uploading!
most excellent! These are all great and you are a great explainer man! I tried a few and will need to work on them. I need to start simple and basic.. you expalin there well. Loaded beast to wave unload feels GREAT!
Very Nice for beginer! Try make a vídeo with a sequence... I find very hard the moves that envolve push-ups ( arm strength: crocodile, lizzard ( simply magestic)....
Someone at 2.42 thinks there should be a cat position. Jokes aside, I find it very interesting, and I really wonder which muscles work in those positions, how it's effective... Because let's face it, doing the lizard or the crocodile looks waaaaaaaaay more fun than doing 4 sets of pushups :) Plus it reminds me of animals forms you could find in kung-fu. Soooooooo gonna check the animal flow website. Thanks a lot for your work !
In your other primal movement video you do beast reach and your knee goes up to the same side arm, but in this one it goes to the opposite arm. Is this just a variation, or is there a mistake in one of the videos? Thanks
Ryan, I love the crab reach, but I think I did something wrong. I think I raised my hips higher up compared to the first time I did it the other day. The lowest of my lower back, left and right, is sore and tight. Is there a rule of thumb on how high to raise the hips?
Sid Ninja grease the groove, my friend. That's been the best way for me to increase reps. Do several/many submaximal sets throughout the day. Practicing the movement regularly without exhausting the muscles will help you fire your neurons faster for more power, strength and endurance on the exercise you practice. Watch this video for more details: ruclips.net/video/cGsgxPO92vw/видео.html
I started working on my handstand, but it's giving me lower back pain. My back is fine. I probably just need to strengthen my core. Can you please give me advice on what core exercises would be best?
i´m trying to get flexebility to do calesthenics and yoga properly, my hamstrings are very thight my shoulders and my band, and my arms, do you have any exercise to do to straight my arms again? i dont feel any pain, just can straight them up, and dont know what to do really.. :(
Moe Awada some of it is Animal Flow but some of it is other movements not used in AF. I mention that in the video description and promote the AF course there (I love that program!). And I'm a certified personal trainer through ACE (Amercian Council on Exercise) but no, not an AF instructor.
Minus The Gym I am sorry I didn’t read the description, but becoz I attended the AF course that why I was asking if your AF instructor. Good video , cheers.
when bears walk they move their same-side limbs simultaneously (unlike primates). That is, they move their right paw and right foot forward at the same time, and then their left. Isn't the bear walk in the primal movement supposed to mimic this behaviour? BTW this is the bestest primal movement video ever!

Dude, i can say, you are the best, by the way you are showing it and explaining it.
I'd like some full primal movement routine videos, start to finish that we can follow along with
I really enjoyed the first animal flow and after s few weeks I'd just about mastered it. This is really great to see how I can progress.

Thanks Ryan. I've been watching a lot of videos about animal flow and cant wait to start trying some on the ground.

Love your calm and thoughful vibe, man. :)
Thank you for this video. I was originally looking at primal movements and this is by far the best video because it shows me a lot of positions I didn’t know existed.
some of these are common grappling drills in bjj and wrestling, like the kick throughs. love these
Great video. Thanks from Mexico City
great video.. what I like is that you show us without all the

what would be nice is if you can do a follow along routine with these movements

Nice one dude love from India
Great content thank you
thank you very much brother
I'm currently following you...you are great teacher...♥️
Thank you! 😃
You're welcome ☺️
Hey beby your beutiful very very much
Any plans on making more primal movement videos? Great channel!
Nice. I like to do all those every day. I also do Caporeira kicking and some of their flips. I'm eighty.
Great video!
Thanks again Ryan I’m doing it now every day with my daughter and my wife and they are really happy with it
Wow! The crocodile is really hard! I found myself going into the beast to make it easier.
Your videos are excellent especially for our Krav Maga class warm ups. Thanks Ryan
Dude...your channel is so legit.
I enjoyed both videos a lot because there is no such clearly labeled primal movement videos. I put a mobility day similar to a stretch day between my strength training days!
Awesome!!! Please keep up with such a extraordinary videos !!!
Such a great video. Thank you for all this great information

Looks really interesting dude, for sure this looks like something I'd like to try out.
Keep it up my dude, and props on being WFPB.
I'll make sure to add this to my workout routine!
Just perfect, thank you!
Thanks Ryan.....well instructed
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing. I love these primal movement videos that you do!!
I'm going to be 53 next month and I was looking for something to build strength and mobility I think I found it. Thanks 👍
Thanks, I was waiting for this
Well done like always

Awesome video, thanks for uploading!
Is there a workout that I can follow along with… and not just individual moves that I have to put together myself. Thank you
Very useful .. thanks 🙏
thanks man
Ur videos r the best man ty sm
This was a super helpful video! Thank you for the short and thorough breakdown🙏
Thanks. It was a great help
Thanks Ryan 🏆🏆🏆🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Loaded beast to wave unload feels GREAT!
Great stuff here. Really happy to see next primal movement video!.....Just can wait to see the dragon move in the next one
:D
Thanks for this great video sir ❤️ much awaited and worth it 🔥
First got introduced to animal movements like these via Vahva fitness channel. Definitely good to incorporate / balance with calisthenic routines
Pushed the Like immediately after trying the first one :)
Great video
This is actually a fantastic idea... learn few movements and create your own unique workout flow... I absolutely must do that!
Hi, great workouts! What vídeo editing program do you use un tour vídeos?
Cris Avik thanks! And I use iMovie. It's simple yet fairly powerful and came stock with my MacBook.
Cool man ,this is great
Is this the same guy doing primal movement at the beach? That was beautiful.
Thanks for this very interesting video! Crocodile and lizard are not easy animals to cope with!
Looks like fun! How do you warm up your wrists properly though? :)
Asusual best ✌️
Hottt!! Love the alligator!! Still outta breath lol 💜💜💜
What's the name of the cat? I don't think I've ever seen crocodile before. I'll have to try that one.
I love the lizard crawl.
Awsome video
Very Nice for beginer! Try make a vídeo with a sequence... I find very hard the moves that envolve push-ups ( arm strength: crocodile, lizzard ( simply magestic)....
I teach a full beginner’s sequence in this video. I hope you enjoy it: ruclips.net/video/0lader8PTmI/видео.html

How long do you perform each movement? Or how many reps?

Hey Ryan I can currently do around 12 push ups with good form. How can I get i to 20-25?
Sid Ninja grease the groove, my friend. That's been the best way for me to increase reps. Do several/many submaximal sets throughout the day. Practicing the movement regularly without exhausting the muscles will help you fire your neurons faster for more power, strength and endurance on the exercise you practice. I do reps of 6 and rest 15-30 seconds, repeat.
I can confirm that greasing the groove works. I was doing around the same and now I regularly do sets of 25 with a max of 30.
Yes, I too thought this was Jonh Sins
I started working on my handstand, but it's giving me lower back pain. My back is fine. I probably just need to strengthen my core. Can you please give me advice on what core exercises would be best?

Oh, jonny sins
Due to the sordid background noisy sound, I chose to turn it off and miss the narrative, I do not like and subscribe to such rudeness.
You are jhonny sins, minus the gym.
