Now that's a very handy guide indeed! I've dabbled a bit in GVS, and with MBON, I'd like to get a bit more serious about the game, so that little refresher course is more than welcome, thanks!
Not going to lie, I've played gundam vs next plus on psp for like 2 years and I never knew what the numbers meant. I just looked on RUclips and hoped that when someone did a combo video they would use the actual button commands instead. This will seriously give me a better understanding of the mechanics, so thank you for uploading this. Also nice Vulcan reference
I'm really thankful you help me out with this, even if Mexico is falling down, I'm going to purchase this no matter how. I really do appreciate you to create this guide, see you in the launch of the game!

As a beginner, this is what I would love to learn from more experienced players Edit: I usually just evade as much as possible and shoot randomly in between evasive moves. @@MinatoVersus I get your point completely. I can feel that most players move instinctively. I am just scared to pick up "bad habits". Now that maxi boost is announced and that Gundam versus didn't do too bad. I think it's a good opportunity for me to come back. Thanks a lot for the answer and keep up the great work. This tutorial was really helpful !
@@talesofgamersxx7903 a lot of it just comes from experience and general game sense. the game is a 3 button fighting game, so inputs are simple and most of the depth comes from correct decision making and knowing when to be aggressive and when not to be. for beginner, it's best to get used to red lock range. red lock is the distance in which your shots will have tracking properties. every suit has different red lock range, some backline units have massive red lock range. shooting from outside red lock range is possible, but unless the attack is a gerobi (puking wide beam) with area lockdown or an aoe type nuke you're most likely not going to hit due to no tracking property on the attack. if you are in red lock range, enemy is forced to step or dodge your attack to cut the tracking. this requires boost. so the other half of it is learning to gauge when an enemy will be out of boost and learning to punish landings. good players will ensure they never overuse the boost gauge to overheat levels because this means they spend a full second waiting for it to come back as opposed to fractions of a second, which is an eternity in this game. this is doubly important because as long as you have boost, pretty much every action in this game can be made safe by step or bd canceling. so it's hard to punish attacks unless an enemy is seriously committed. for a start, try being aware of if enemy has a melee suit, because a melee suit will want to yolo you or your teammate virtually all the time. if an enemy melee has your partner caught in a combo, shoot him in the back. edit: in addition, due to the way the game mechanics work, you are virtually never going to win a 2v1 assuming your enemies aren't literal potatoes, because one of them can just wait until you are out of boost from dodging the other and then open up on you with everything. this is called being "double locked" and you can tell from the arrows on the screen that this is happening. it is the most dangerous state in the game and some players will save ex burst just so they can dodge if they can get double locked. however, if you are double locked, this means your partner can do just about anything without fear of being attacked. changing targets constantly will change your vector of movement in relation to your target, so be aware of what you're attacking and when.

that's the point of the video, learn this and you can use the knowledge in the already widely available guide online. Not to mention not everyone is using the default control or pad.
Suits will have varying amounts of melee combos. With some, you can do 8b while attacking to do a move, some do it with A, some get BC moves, etc. You just gotta experiment or hope someone has a comprehensive list of attacks.
I purchased this game and absolutely did not know how to play it ._. I tried to dash around like you but the movement is nothing like what you are doing, nothing seems to make sense to me playing this so far and I really regret the money spent on this game atm. I am watching more of your vids hoping I learn to play this game.
This game was originally an arcade game so a lot of player are used to playing it with a stick. Learning to read the arcade notations are pretty useful when you want to look up more info by yourself since no one is gonna use triangle/square when writing a guide even for a PS4.
MiNATO CH also helps keeping arcade notation because a lot of fighting games seems to have movelist and tutorials matching the arcade buttons. Should make people from other fighting games gets used to this information better.
Reminds me of the days I played FB with my friend on his PS3, since I never touched a PS3 controller (I am purely arcade) I be like "wtf are these controls???"
It was considered but then everyone was using a different control + some are using a arcade stick. learning arcade layout/input it's better as it's universal and everyone can use it.

That or I’m just too used to NEXT PLUS haha 😅 help
I use PS4 controller and it's fine. You don't need stick to play this game
Is there no fast fall like in Gundam VS
GVS has a dedicated boost dive button, in this game not every ms can do that kind of action
I feel like this would be easier to understand if it was up down left right triangle square circle X
that's the point of the video, learn this and you can use the knowledge in the already widely available guide online.
Not to mention not everyone is using the default control or pad.
Maybe make one with directional (up,down, left, right) and button layouts for ps4. Im not a mathematician, and i averaged a solid C- in algebra...
no
My fight stick I just ordered has a different mapping, do you recommend the one in the video?
that's the standard one that used in the arcade so yes
hey, can u explain to me how gundam x1 do the combo like spinning the whip ? i can't find that combo in gundam versus 2018
when any of the melee connect, press BC
@@MinatoVersus is this work for another gundam ?
not every gundam can do it all you need to try it out
Suits will have varying amounts of melee combos. With some, you can do 8b while attacking to do a move, some do it with A, some get BC moves, etc. You just gotta experiment or hope someone has a comprehensive list of attacks.
Amazing guide, but is not the ps4 controler more easy than joystick ? What is the advantage of joystick over the controller ?
It was the arcade game first so it's a default control for the majority of people
What button configuration do you use for ps4 controller? I’ve been working on CSB and CSA for suits that have both and it feels off to me.
im playing on 5yo DS4 with default control
MiNATO CH so do you just hold A or B when charging either?
yep, also with trigger shortcut
You say "CC=BD" what does BD mean?
Boost Dash!
@@MinatoVersus oh duh. Jesus lol. Than you haha
I purchased this game and absolutely did not know how to play it ._. I tried to dash around like you but the movement is nothing like what you are doing, nothing seems to make sense to me playing this so far and I really regret the money spent on this game atm. I am watching more of your vids hoping I learn to play this game.
Try the mission mode, it will help ease you into the game. This game is definitely one of the harder game to get into but it's 💯 worth it
It's studying time, I guess 😅
hi minato i would like to know with what button to lunch the missiles from the gundam harute because when i try its not working
AC during MA mode
@@MinatoVersus yes in MA mode i can't lunch the missile
@@MinatoVersus AC what button is that on ps4 or ps3 controler
AC = shoot+melee button you can check the video again for the layout
@@MinatoVersus i did try on exvs fb its working thank for your help
It's great you do this introduction video, but I still think most people are using the ps4 controller to play
Man I like the game but boy is it confusing lol
Mmmm hachaama
I still dont get how to cancel beam shoot with a dash?
P.S. with controller
almost every action can be cancel with that dash. go try it in the game
@@MinatoVersus still no luck...
So Square then movex2 asap?
square, tap x twice repeat
@@MinatoVersus OOOHHHHHHH
Can you use the joystick button format?
It was considered but then everyone was using a different control + some are using a arcade stick.
learning arcade layout/input it's better as it's universal and everyone can use it.
Why not use ps4 map button I think its more easily
