NOT BIRDS! 🐤 I love the journey this game has gone through, seeing it from beginning to end has been really cool. 💪 (The idea of you calling Trudeau to talk about mullets, had me rolling. lol)
Love the little bird people! There are so many features here but the sand burying mechanic is truly different. The first playtest sounds like it was really beneficial, nice! Also, love the name, it immediately tells me what I need to know.
Thank you ! It's comforting marketing-wise to hear that concept is different and so is the name. The playtests were a gold mine of feedback and great improvement, I replayed a couple of old builds to take footage for the video and the changes are very apparent. Playtests are so valuable.
To be transparent, I'll say I was a bit loose with the term "one year" XD. This is more a year and half worth of work part time. I would completely stop do some youtube editing etc from time to time, but when I'm actively working on it, it's somewhere between 3 to 10 hours a week depending on how "in the zone" I am. I work from home, so it's a little bit in the morning, a little bit during my lunch break, a little bit after work and a couple of hours during the weekend. I do like the tactic of giving me a small goal, like something that would take me like 5 min to do, to maybe get the ball rolling so I'll do more, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, but just the fact that sometimes it does is good enough to get things to move forward.
And I totally agree ! I'm a professional programmer and releasing a video game can be considered "competition", so I need written approval from my job to be sure it doesn't come back to bite me in the butt. I did have written approval, but I'm changing job and will only start in January, so I'll need approval from them and I still wanted to get a "end of year" video out.
@@RockyMulletGamedevim sorry if I come off ignorant, but do you work for a gaming company? I’m a student who is looking to be a programmer in the future, and don’t understand why publishing your personal game would be considered competition? On the the hand though great work, and best of luck to the rest of development!
Definitely ! You can join the discord to know about the next playtest and I'm ok with footage being out. discord.gg/qp9u9dmXYG It seems like you are a gaming content creator, I'll keep your channel in my notes for when I'll poke around, since the steam page is not open to wishlists yet, I'm holding out to reach out to content creators, but I'll be happy to reach out when it's the time (in case you don't want to join yet another discord server 😆) Thanks !
Whoever made the art at 2:05 is not very smart and is actually dumb in fact. I can't read so I'll never now who drew it but I think that's for the best

Birds aren't real !

How many hours a day do you think you put into developing this over the course of the year?

Dude you are inspiring, but why no steam page for so long? People recommend getting it out asap.

Can you provide the steam link?
The page is not publish yet, I have a bit of legal red tape to get out of the way first, it should be soon tho.
@@RockyMulletGamedev Understood thanks!
Hey! Make your steam page public so I can wishlist already!
Will do, will do XD

Definitely ! You can join the discord to know about the next playtest and I'm ok with footage being out.

Be careful, they are a great artist, but they suffer from chronic bird hallucinations, very sad 😔
Un bon accent québécois?
Je sais pas si yé bon ou mauvais, mais yé la 😅
