    I like how they hug the coast to the point you can figure out where you are at most points. 48:30 is Salinas. Then coming out over Monterey Bay. The small city of Castroville hasn't encroached on the surrounding farming land since I lived in Marina 25 years ago. 51:40 is Watsonville .

    I love how the buzz of the engines starts to sound muffled as the plane climbs due to thinner air.

    Always loved that route and that approach. It's often a real challenge to get the aircraft down in time because they always like to keep you up high until the last minute. You can see in this video that he had to use flight spoilers with the approach flaps at the same time. I always try to warn people new to the approach.

    I recently discovered your channel. I love the vids, I feel like I'm actually flying haha. One little request. It would be super awesome if you add a real time G force meter so we can have an idea of how the flight is actually being felt. Like for example, I've seen some turbulence while landing and I wonder how much Gs are being experienced. I'm an engineer so that would increase a lot the sense of being there watching the landings and takeoffs.

      I’m glad you’re enjoying the content my friend. I’ve had several people request similar things over the last few years, and I’ve never done it. And here’s why. I try to make my videos as pure as possible. As you said, to try to make it as close to the view were actually being on the flight as possible. So, I try to edit as little as possible, and I don’t add anything that you wouldn’t have if you were sitting in that seat, looking out the window just like I am. I don’t have any text to the screen, obnoxious music, or any type of informational stuff. Perhaps, as I get more time to work on the channel, I’ll try a new stores that adds stuff like that.

    Just wanted to say I recently discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying it. I have no idea why but flight videos are awesome to me and fun to watch. Makes me feel like I'm part of it. Lol. I love flying but don't fly often at all. Last time I flew was in 2013 when I went to Toronto for a weekend. I intend to fly again once the pandemic is over though. I want to go to Tennessee after this is all over and it would take two flights for me to get there. Anyway, great videos and thanks for them. Fun to watch and makes me feel like I'm on the plane which is awesome. You just gained a new subscriber.

      I have no issue with people using audio from my videos for simulator videos. I also have no issue if people want to use short clips of video from the airports or boarding on the jetbridge. As long as it’s credited. What I don’t allow is people to use large sections of videos like the whole takeoff or landing.

    • @sla31

      I actually prefer the short hops. But my user statistics and analytics show me that my viewers overwhelmingly prefer the longer flights. Long flights are easily the most watched videos I post.

    What altitude were you guys cruising at for the 1 hour flight

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      I don't remember the exact altitude we were at on this specific flight, but it would've been a normal cursing altitude. Even on short flights, it's still more beneficial to fly at higher altitudes, so it would've likely been in the 30,000 feet range. I just looked up a Untied flight heading from LAX-SFO right now, and it's 15 minutes into it's flight and is already at 36,000 feet. Thanks for watching my friend!

  • @aakashkarajgikar9384
    @aakashkarajgikar9384 2 года назад

    Was this a long takeoff? It looked like you had the takeoff longer than the midflight period. You don't usually do it that way. I am very confused now. Did you do some mistake in your video editing or something?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      Chapters are great, but they're not always completely accurate. I use timestamps to mark the start of each phase. So, in this case, I used 13:43 to mark the start of the takeoff. The next major even in the flight was the onboard service, so the chapter populates that it's "takeoff" all the way until then. The chapters aren't always a perfect system when you use them like I do. That said, I added another chapter between takeoff and the onboard service to help break this one up better. Thanks for watching my friend!
