It was top of the Pops you can imagine that night the shed rocked.

I've seen hundreds, probably thousands, of bands from all genres, pop, folk, rock, metal, dance, prog, soul, blues, and Ian Dury & The Blockheads remain the tightest, most on-point band I have ever seen. Not a single dropped note, not a single skipped beat, every member of the band knew exactly what they were doing and what every other member of the band were doing every single second they were on stage. I'm pretty sure they all could have swapped places with each other and they'd still have been absolutely perfect.

I think Ian Dury is a great advert for anyone with an ambition or a personal goal. Even if things seem stacked against you, you CAN do it. An inspiration and driving force.

So agree, thank God I'm not a teenager today listening to the music that all sounds the same, no originality at all.
