When you see behind the scenes it really makes you appreciate the song more. Definitely not the album I wanted, and that's disappointing. But after listening to it for a couple days, I see the vibe and angle they took with this record and it's cool in that perspective. Over all, I have at least 6-7 songs that I'll keep and throw into my shuffle of Underoath. Let's hope their next album, they can tie in this new style with the old that we all loved and we might just have a killer record. Still love em.

For me Underoath’s album is always like some new pair of shoes, it just needs time to break in.
I believe the problem with most people, is that they expect musicians (like Uø) will make music just to please fans' expectations, which is (in my opinion) wrong. Musicians make music for themselves, for what they feel inspired. If they compose music from what people want out of them, then their creativity would not be their own. Relax and listen to the songs a few more times; listen to lyrics, feel some empathy, enjoy the sounds.

MyChemicalLife It's just so boring. What stands out to you? Any riffs?
The new album sounds more like the newest BMTH album than Underoath. It's more radio metal than the old type of music they're known for. I get it though, bands evolve; I'm not complaining in that aspect. I'm merely saying I don't like the new style.
Mike Faller Yeah, it feels lifeless. I like some pop music. The Plot In You's evolution went well with their latest album IMO but not this.
