Another fantastic episode. Hugh from Limitless Chassis IS a legend, and great on camera too! Excellent video footage of the process involved with extending the chassis. Now we are hanging out for the next stage in the build process.

We toyed with the idea of a Tommy Camper over our Ranger but we gave up on the idea due to the weight and I was going to pick up agency nursing work once on the road. Now that I still have my telephone based nursing job and can work remotely, we do still need two work spaces, but we will prolly make do with an annex....nowhere near as sexy as a slide on camper!!!

We’re stoked and confident with it! Toni said towing the van feels good (the back is obviously not loaded atm) and parking etc is no issues. Excited to see how it all goes with the new set up!
For a single guy yeah, its ok for temporary trips. For a family I prefer the caravan for the needed space and longer term goals of upgrading into a self sufficient block of land.

Good work. Does Hugh fit the engineers plate? That's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Can you/did you get a GVM upgrade? Can you/did you get a GCM upgrade?
Hey mate, yeah he sure does, I actually filmed the process with the mod plate but didn’t actually hit record on the camera 🤦🏽♂️ no we didn’t get our GVM upgraded on paper, in a practical sense we can carry more weight and are safe (we’ve had everything done to increase GVM, but haven’t paid the engineer) and to my knowledge you can only increase GCM before the vehicle is ever registered in Queensland.
Towing is a lot better with the chassis extended. The weight distribution across the front and rear axels is a lot more even and with a longer wheelbase the load carrying capacity is improved 👍
