That fight was really well done because it made me truly conflicted on who to root for. Our plucky yet murder hobo heroes or the imposing, but personally favorite and fabulous Gourgerlord lord.
It also show really well how broken Custodes are, even without power armour they are like demi-gods. It's easy to forget how scary they are with all the memes around them.

That makes me think of Ogres having the in-lore stats of the Custodes. Their agility, their intelligence, their skill with handling any weapon. Boosted by the ungodly strength and durability Ogres are known for. I don't want to live in that universe
You're onto something. In 40k, Custodes and Ogryn (the closest things to Ogres in the setting) share the same Strength, Toughness and Wound count, too.

Depending on how time works in 40k relation to Warhammer Fantasy, maybe Gougerstodes (forgot his name) lives long enough to survive *through* the End Times, and enters the Mortal Realms (possibly inspiring Sigmar to come up with the Stormcast in the process), eventually making his way to the Realm of Chaos and thus to 40k's Warp, or he gets back through other means, like a unique Realmgate or something (either as a Tyrant of the Beastclaw Raiders, to follow up on his Ogre Career, or accompanied by a cadre of incredibly fabulous Stormcast that refuse to wear armor and have a weird fetish for body oil). I know AoS isn't everyone's cup of tea, and is quite underdeveloped by comparison, but it opens quite a few opportunities, and I nonetheless like it.

Not gonna lie, I would love to see this as a character in jojo. Some dude with cut muscles and the typical jojo-fashion, but his stand is called Ogre Magi, and its this huge magic blue ogre with a massive odachi that towers behind him like an imposing doom.

The idea is that The Gorger Lord starts off in the mountains, and his goal is to regain contact with the imperium and the emperor. Once he’s done such, and had set up two way travel between the old world and the imperial place, the campign focus shifts to conquering the old world with the full might off terra at his beck and call by any means the gorger lord deems fit.

As much as I love just about everything about this version of Awaken, the chanting is possibly my favourite part of it all. It really brings the whole ogre feel to it.

In his defense: he had a party of a murderhobo, a mary sue, a "joke" charatcer (yes dung man did help in the end) and a Edgelord. The 2 custodes, Judge, rock Halfing and Tiny Dorn were fine thou. Any dm would be frustaded with having those 4 and the other half barely made it go okay.
I really do like this version for sure...just wish it had the "Aiaiaiayai" that usually comes at the beginning. Still great, though. Just watched the Text to Speech episode that had this song, it fit perfectly.
I'm four years late, but I clicked on this expecting to regret it. And I have. See when I first heard Awaken it reminded me of a team of ogres I created in my teens, and I thought of renovating that team into original antagonists. This cover makes me want to go through with that idea.
Part of me now wants to hear this and the other version mixed together for the inevitable return of the Gorgerlord to our universe. I'm just saying, someone sync the two of them together. Anyways, great as always, Stringstorm. Keep up the Emperor's work

This is like a prehistoric Awakened. Here's an idea for the next JOJO series, we follow the Pillar Men and their destruction of the Hamon clan.
I really do like this version for sure...just wish it had the "Aiaiaiayai" that usually comes at the beginning. Still great, though. Just watched the Text to Speech episode that had this song, it fit perfectly.
I'm four years late, but I clicked on this expecting to regret it. And I have. See when I first heard Awaken it reminded me of a team of ogres I created in my teens, and I thought of renovating that team into original antagonists. This cover makes me want to go through with that idea.
