I really enjoy all your videos! I've been eyeing a 144 Volvo, BUT when i look for parts availability I can't even get an oil filter without a hassle. If you need brake discs or pads, water pump etc. where do you look?? How do you manage these concerns?
Thank you for watching! I’m not sure where you’re based but here in South Africa I was able to get an oil filter from my local Midas spares store. I don’t think there would be a problem finding the other bits either BUT I haven’t tried. What I do like doing with older cars though is looking for a complete spares donor which would then provide my own source of most parts.
@oldmercguy Thanks for the reply! I'm in Durban! There's a beautiful 144 with what appears to be original 79000kms on it. I'm tossing up between that and a w123 230e with 450000km on it! The W123 is cheaper, but more work.
I saw that one at We Buy Cars. Looks nice except for the rust and seems like a reasonable price too. I’d suggest you drive both and then get in contact with any concerns and I can talk you through them.
