  • Hello, friends!
I hope you are doing well as we move toward the end of 2023. In this video, I’ll share a final update and flip-through on customized Traveler’s Notebook inserts I made for my sister as a Christmas gift. This is the fourth year that I’ve gifted her a custom planner, and I’m excited to see what she thinks of the Traveler’s Notebook system based on the feedback she’s given me in past years on the A5 notebook size that I had given her previously.
I also talk about why I decided to include a Worry Journal insert in her gift based on my own experiences keeping one in the past to help calm my mind down and interrupt negative thoughts when I notice myself feeling overwhelmed and living in a ‘freeze state.’ Let me know if you’d like me to discuss this in more depth in a future video. I don’t use my personal worry journal as much now that I have other journals and planners that serve a similar purpose, but for a while, this book was a critical tool that kept me functioning.
*The holidays and end of year can be a difficult time. Regardless of how you’re spending these last few days of 2023, I hope you are able to find some time to rest and recharge. 💓*
The article I referenced, in case you want to read more (note, this one talks about thought stopping in the context of reducing social anxiety symptoms, although I think it can be used for more situations beyond social anxiety).

This is such a great idea! I've been struggling to find great gifts for my sister and family members. Now I know what they'll be hetting this year! My 7yo loves art, so having her do the decorating will make the whole thing extra special - and keep her occupied a bunch! 😁

Yay! I’m so glad to hear that this has inspired some figure gift ideas for your sister and family members. I look forward to making a version of this every year for my sister. I think getting help from your 7 year old is a very smart idea as trying to out together an entire year’s worth is a lot of work (but worth it!). 🥰

Love the idea of a worry journal and will explore the thought interruption technique you mentioned. How kind you are to make this gift & keep a tradition for your Sister.

Thank you for the kind words! 🥰 It’s a really nice creative outlet for me, and it’s rewarding to do the check-in together (usually in Aug/Sep) to see how she’s using it. If you explore the idea of keeping a worry journal, I hope you find it helpful! It was such a game changer for me when I was struggling with extreme burnout and an overwhelming amount of negative thoughts that was preventing me from being productive.

@@LittleCocoStudio I will be using my Hobonichi Weeks to track wellness, mindset & creativity practices so I may bring into that (For sure I'll be tracking mood, energy & sleep hours).
I'll let you know how I go, I need to name my inner critique, give her an identity so we can have chats. I'm going to do stream of consciousness writing daily with The Artists Way so better out than in.
Thx so much again & I hope your Sister LOVED!

@@kittybaroque9591 that sounds like a great plan, especially the part about naming your inner critic and having conversations with her! 🥰 I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Artist’s Way. I should add that to my reading list for next year!

Haha it’s all with good intentions (although, I probably wasn’t laughing when we were younger 😂). My goal is
to make presents for everybody, but I never start early enough. Last year, I managed to crochet most gifts (hats, tea towels) for other family members, but this year, I ran out of time. 😅

@@LittleCocoStudio I re-dated a Happy Planner for my mom 2 years ago and I personalized it by adding homemade dividers with succulent cut outs…she loves succulents. She used it as a daily Faith Journal.
She loved it and asked I make her another last year and I didn’t (I just bought her a dated journal). After watching this part 2, I started working on re-dating another Happy Planner I still had in my stash (I went through a big Happy Planner phase). I got a lot done already and plan to give it to her before January 1, 2024.
This helps the both of us. It helps me use up my stash and my mom gets a personalized faith planner for 2024, so thank you again for the video and inspiration!
