@deadend The evidence is I should either be dead or an addict but I am neither of those. If your want to hear you will hear if you want to understand you'll understand. All I know is what I've seen and known to be true and that is that God has always been with me and never left. I pray you one day understand this and don't find out when it's already to late and are forced to see the truth and be judged by it.

I was born into being a Christian but it took me 23 years for me to believe in him and I’m very thankful!! ❤️ I fell into drugs, sex, bad influence I would see shadows and demons would haunt me. I left church at age 19 and came back during this lock down I was tired of everything and in the restroom I kneed down and prayed and told God if he’s real take everything my addiction to pornography addiction to weed addiction to my sinful life because I wanted to be free and in an second I was freed and I began to cry because there wasn’t a day that I lived without these addictions and in a sec my life had changed! I have a month walking with God and it’s so incredible❤️there’s times that God puts things in my heart to ask certain person if they’re Christians sometimes they’re Christians but sometimes they say that they used to be Christians but has lost faith I talk to them about my life and how I had fallen in sin and disbelief and I tell them that the Lord is telling me to tell you to come back home ❤️because he changed me and has forgiven me and he’s made me new ❤️🙏🏼 and I’ll forever be grateful I’ll forever trust him

Rodriguez, I'm glad that God brought you to himself. I share almost the same testimony. Now, it's been 3 years. It was hard in the beginning because of the bad habits and toxic relationships I had. I was hoping to hold onto Christ and at the same time my bad habits and friends. But it was lagging me behind, because most of the times I would compromise and find myself repenting every other time and doubt it whether I was truly saved. Eventually, God was gracious to me and helped me choose His side. I never looked back again. I found loving few brothers and sisters in the Church and I have seen God work in me. I pray that God may help you in this journey. I encourage you to look to Christ, He is our only hope.

Left church because I had a horrible relationship with my father at home, but had to put on a front at church like everything was cool. I got mad at God because of allowing my father to be so abusive. After much searching for TRUTH, and a whole decade (age 14 to 24) I came back to church..just with a renewed perspective. God created a GREAT relationship between my father and I through humility and forgiveness. My faith is stronger than ever from coming to know God for MYSELF, having truths revealed to me through life experiences. *Praise the Lord* 🙏🏿🙌🏿

So, I had a thought as I was LITERALLY scrolling through youtube wanting to find something to watch, I was deciding to leave the church BECAUSE I've felt like as a church my social needs aren't getting met. YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP! I click on this video about two Christian artists named SOCIAL MISFITS talking about their leaving and returning. If this is not the realest stop sign I've had from God in awhile I dont know what is.

This interview is part of a huge wave of believers that have been pushed/or are being pushed out of "the church" by mean, abusive leaders. It is all spoken about in Ezekial chapter 34: The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? 3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. 4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. 5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.
7 “‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.
11 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. 13 I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.
If you continue studying this book....the ones WHO GET REJECTED (LIKE CHRIST GOT REJECTED) ARE THE ONES WHO EXPERIENCE REVIVAL!

The devil seemed to present himself while showing me how it always be this way, and that they will always be into the things that they are into. I called out Gods promises right then and there. and prayed and prayed that the devil would have no part in in their lives,my thoughts and in my visions of God‘s promises. I left church cause of the hypocrisy I was seeing& when you're raised in church all your life; You're used to following protocol(tradition).I needed to experience God for myself in order to appericiate his mercy&goodness.I thank God for that period of my life because it exposed me to relationship rather than religion. Cause before I was religious but I wasn't in relationship with God that was healthy. I had to relearn God's love, compassion&grace.

Dropped out for a while in college just done with it, but God was preparing me to find what the real Father has for me, and to help me decipher relationship vs religion. I had alcohol problems, depression and overwhelming anxiety. Idk what really happened but one day I woke up, kinda looked at my life and recommitted my life back to Jesus. It’s been very hard but very worth it. He’s always waiting with open arms for us to come home.

Dang a got locked up the same year! Ran away, lived at my homeboys house, full fledged in the streets, banging. Caught a murder case my senior year in H.S.
Called my mom the same way, the judge said he was getting bad dreams concerning my name and gave me a case dismissed! Got indicted three weeks later, ended not getting what I deserve the death penalty. Gods mercy came in before I even came back. I was 17, went though hell, riots, prison politics, and corrupted prison guards. At 21 I found myself going back to the hole and I prayed and said got obviously I dont know what I'm doing but you do, if you can talk to me everyday then I wont forget. Been on fire ever since. Since I was the one of the only young person God ended using me for a massive revival that impacted the prison to this day.
4 years later God had the laws changed and I was able to get parole ( my second) and I was released September 23, 2013.
Met my wife six weeks later as she was asking God to do something with her life. Met her on the bus while I was running late for work. (God got me a job three week after getting out). Crazy, now we are married with two kids, I have my CDL and bigger than that in 2016 three years after my release, I had to go to court for a false "fix- it" ticket. The cop who pulled me over lied and said that my tail lights was out ( just bought the car and everything was in order) so I go to court baffled anxiety on high cause it was the very first time i walked the the front doors of court house, I thought it was a trick and they were going take me back in.
The judge said the ticket was bogus and threw it out , but God touched his heart and he said he the judge and he can whatever he wants and he sees I have a horrible history and he said I bet its stopping you from doing a lot, I told he yes but I'm determined to get pl ush through being an ex felon, it wont stop me from getting a jobs and being the man my family can be proud of.
He well with that said I'm dealing your case, I'm restoring your rights, you no longer an ex felon!

I experienced church hurt as a young pastor at the hands of my mentors back in 2017. It's been a constant struggle for me to get back on my feet and refix my eyes on the love and grace of God.

Got saved, left church after 4 year consistancy, my habbits got worse, peace and joy diminished yet God was still good and mercyful. In my sinful condition I was always hit my chest and look at the sky for mercy. God heard my cry, One Day woke me up in a Vision and the Voice of the Holy Spirit told me if Jesus was to come at the moment I would of stayed. I tremble and By Gods grace I was able to reconcile with the Lord. Its been 3 years in and no more Bad habbits or addiction. Jesus set me free and Im not going back. Church is essential, you dont have to agree with everything but at the end of the day we dont congregate to please anyone but to pleaee God and for our spiritual growth.

I left the church back in May of 07' because of some things that weren't jiving with me. I was a young immature Christian at the time having been dedicated to God for about 5 years. Though immature, my spiritual discernment was high so I noticed some things that didn't seem right, plus life was beating me down and I had no help. At that point, you supposed to be able to go to the church for help but none was there so I left. I feel Marty on his departure. I didn't experience the way he left but the reason why, I agree with.
I came back in 13' and been rolling ever since and honestly became stronger and more knowledgeable. God still works on you while you're away because His plan never leaves you. He's always there!

Hi love what made you leave? I left church as well and I finally have somewhat came back after about 5 years...I'm still healing from that experience but God will get me there. One thing I will like to encourage you is.... Its OK to take a break from the religious church routine but stay in prayer and in the bible while you're gone. Also have at-least one person who is a true friend and believer that will just be there to give you wise advice. I wish I would of done those things because I would have never in life went through what I went through during my time away from church. I know I'm a stranger, but I just felt the need to extend my friendship, if you ever want to talk my email is tybusiness22@gmail.com :)

Those are some great stories of coming back to the faith and church! :) Though it's so fascinating how the Lord works in all of us in very different ways, giving us all such unique paths so we can grow closer to Him if we only choose it.
The church is a great thing, a great place to find more ways to grow in faith, walk closer with Him, support each other, etc. I'll start off with saying that. However, my family has had a vastly different path over the past many years. My father suffered a medical event in 1993 that resulted in a then-undiagnosed traumatic brain injury due to oxygen deprivation to the brain. His primary symptom is a nonstop headache. 24/7, 7 days a week, it never stops and he never has a break from the pain since that day. It's only by God's grace that he's has the strength on loan from Him to live to this day and not take his own life. The first ten years after the incident were the hardest years as his headache slowly stabilized (mostly) with time, as Dad's headache was very volatile. Mornings were rough, assuming he could even sleep, and Sundays were no different.
My mom tried to make sure we were still going to church on Sunday if at all possible, especially for my sister and I. Dad came on rare occasions but most of the time, he couldn't. Still, every church we went to, it was the same thing. People were always assuming Dad wore dark sunglasses and a baseball cap, a thermos filled with coffee though they assumed it was something different, due to a hangover headache, or that he did drugs, or this, or that, or some other thing. If we had to miss some weeks of church, it was like they never noticed we weren't there, even in the smaller churches where everyone knows everyone. The judgment was so wearing and I still remember when we finally gave up, when God gave us permission to walk a unique path. It was the last church we really attended, Mom was helping clean with other members of the congregation, my sister and I were still pretty young, and one of the members had a conversation with her. Evidently, he finally believed Dad really had a headache from a medical event and he wasn't some alcoholic/drug addict. Mom was just done with the judgment and people believing that Dad's headache was his fault. Mom consulted with a couple that were effectively spiritual parents to her growing up and they gave us what we needed. They understood why we needed to walk away from the church as a whole, but not our faith. So, we haven't regularly gone to any physical church ever since as we have all we need in our family. We usually watch sermons by Andy Stanley, or his father Dr. Charles Stanley, and perhaps discuss what's on our hearts during and after it as a form of substitute but we have no congregation.
Nowadays, Dad's headache is more stable(ish) and he was finally diagnosed accurately with a traumatic brain injury a few years ago. He is finally able to get some real treatment for it as TBI understanding is finally starting to grow in the community thanks to new research and medical technology. While his TBI is so far proving to be much too old to ever fully relieve the symptoms of, we're finding ways to help at least ease some of it. I've also been dealt a hand with poor health in different ways but that's a story for another time. Church is an absolutely great thing but it can also be one of the most judgmental places out there for those of us that God gives an unusual path to. I've dealt with some judgment too, not near as much as my dad, but as long as we have our faith and our God that will never forsake us, we'll live our best lives as long as we walk with Him. He allows everything in our lives for His great plan, even if we may never understand it, so we can grow closer with Him, church attendance or not. Would I love to find an attend a church someday? Absolutely, I wouldn't mind giving it a try as an adult but I confess that I'm skeptical that I'll find one that really does stick with me if I can't attend church itself or any events for a couple months due to my health. God be willing, we'll see how He directs me.
