Great video again rob. I never considered the roob a shallow float I will try next time I’m out. I did messingham sands and the carp were the same not on it at all I managed to mug 4 out of about 100 I tried lol but the ones I caught were bad casts and literally dropped it in their mouth rather than a few inches in front of them
Hi Rob I would sooner buy once and buy the best cos years ago a went and bought all cheap fishing gear and 2 months later needed to re buy because the not good enough as you will know in the tackle business with your sponsorship there is a massive difference between the budget and the qaulity gear really looking forward to a mugging video am a competent angler as regards rod and line work and the pole but mugging just never bothered till last year now I really want to do it correctly and then there is more chance of success thanks in advance Rob
Great video Rob thanks but was wandering how deep you set your mugging rig as a rule ano one depth isn't always right but if you had to set just one depth what would it be thanks in advance 👍
P.s love your videos learned tons in a few years of fishing from yours and and a couple of other other top anglers like yourself only wish I had started years ago might have kept me out of trouble with something to focus on anyway thanks again and tight lines 👍🏻
Cheers Stu, I’ll maybe do a bit of a detailed vid on the rig..... Polaroid wise I have some wileyx ones but Costas are meant to be better ..... I’m not sure though. You ideally want amber lens and I once had a cheaper pair of fortis that were good if you don’t want to spend big money
Yes would be a great video only really getting into mugging this year i have had good success chucking a wag at them but this year are making the effort to have a dedicated mugging rig set up for the days like you have just had seems to be a lot more need for one nowadays would be a great string to my bow for my leauge matches thanks for taking the time to reply means a lot thankyou 👍🏻
Lovely warm day, I bet the girls were in their short skirts 😀 Great vid and good that you detail the line dia/ hooklength etc. Some ‘Munters’ there 🤣 Cheers Rob
Rob. My local is Hallcroft, I know you won an event recently. But what do you guys do when the fish are milling about near the top, but will not feed, or drop down on a bait please?
Tough one Richard. A lot of the time it’s about mugging a few fish during the middle of the match and then hoping to get your timing right and maybe catching some late in a margin
@@RobWootton Such an honest video, most times you guys always seem to catch from the off. Its nice to see that you're just like us in many ways. Thanks for an excellent contribution Rob.
So Rob, can it be better to not fish the margins late, but try catching on the drop close in, rod and reel, not a pole. The fish certainly know the margins are not safe, lots of false bites for me. I'm cutting out groundbait at Hallcroft, and may just use big baits only, like corn, meat, and 8mm pellets. Does that sound a plan? My shotting is a bulk 4'' from the hook, is that ok?

Would be interested in seeing the rig you use for mugging Rob, something I’ve never really tried!
Very up and down at the moment fish don't seem interested but hopefully will change soon
Great vid Rob🎣

And what Polaroids have you found best for your mugging ?

Sounds like a great plan..... I’ve not had many fish settle over groundbait yet this year
Good vid Rob Did you Qualify Cheers.
Yea but not how I’d like to have... A few no shows made it a lot easier
5th in the match but did you qualify?
Funny story but due to a few no shows .... yes
@@RobWootton nice one!
