Not gonna lie, im a little stupid, so im a bit confused on a few small things. 1. When formatting the usb flash drive on the computer, does it need to have a specific name (i saw in a comment that you said it needed to be formatted as fat32 or exfat, but I'd just like to make sure if the actual drive needs a specific name) 2. I made the export and savedata folders, but I'm not sure on how I'm supposed to get my save data from the ps4 onto the usb flash drive, how should i go about doing that?
To get your save data onto the flash drive open the Back Up and Restore setting on your PS4. Also, the Drive doesn’t have to have a specific name. Fat32 and ExFat are drive file systems
So now i use a external hard drive on my ps4.i am a bit confised about steps i should do.should i transfer all internal memory to external and then afyer change internal to a 4tb ssd to transfer everithing from external hdd to i yernal and then do the restore game save?
How do you think the new install of the PS4 OS would even get to the new drive? Magic spells? Wow, some people are behind the curve big time. I'd suggest you don't mess with your internal HDD on your PS4, because you don't know what the hell you're doing, obviously. Sad.
Um, no. If you replace the internal 500 GB HDD with a 256 GB SSD, then you'll only have really less than 256 GB of storage space once the PS4 OS is installed. Do yourself a favor, if you're going to upgrade to an SSD, make it worthwhile by purchasing at least a 1 TB. A 256 GB SSD will speed things up slightly, but you're reducing the overall internal storage space, which is kind of, sorry to say it bluntly, completely stupid.
Will the PS4[s] recognise that it has a different sized SSD than the original model? e.g. replacing a 256GB SSD with a 2TB SSD will make it read as 2TB and not 256GB, correct? And incredible video! Keep these up :)
OK I’m back and the PS4 is fixed and as good as new! Although I’m not sure it needed the hard drive replaced (I guess it didn’t hurt because now it doesn’t sound like an airplane lol) OK so I had the SU 41350 3 ps4 error (2023) and had to format the USB drive that I downloaded the update on from the PlayStation website. This video below helped me with that: ruclips.net/video/9Pkx2tKYaTc/видео.html It worked after two weeks of not finding a solution! Good luck everyone, follow this guys video above very precisely. Also I could not figure out how to format it on my MacBook so I had to use my daughters PC and it worked like a charm make sure you eject the USB Correctly before taking out out of the PC and follow the guys video above precisely like I said or it won’t work :)
You lose everything that isnt saved to the cloud i think so all ss and vids and your gonna have to redownload all your games that you already downloaded, for most games all your data will be gone
I need to say u r the first one who explained everything good and simple , step by step
Do you have to do the USB flash drive thing?
What is the maximum allowed increased internal storage capacity? For ssd and hdd??
I don’t know, I have seen people go as far as installing 8TB drives and it works
@EvanTetro I've read somewhere that maximum for ps4 pro and slim for internal hdd is 2 t
What exactly was the stuff that you had backed up that you mention at the end?
question what type of flash drive do you need? or does it not matter
Anything higher than 2 GB will work

@@EvanTetro thank you so much!!
I connected the control with the cable and pressed the PS button but not working. Do you know what why?
Same here
You need a cable with data transfer. I had this issue so changed the cable for one with data/charging anx not just a charging cable.

Its ok to put ur ps4 back up file and the ps4 update in one flash drive. Bec. Some other video that i watch they make it separate.
it says the file is corrupted, what can i do
How small can the usb flash drive be? 4gb thumb stick work?
4gb at minimum
What happens if i dont use the usb
Your PS4 will have nothing to boot from

Will it work for PS4 Pro?
bro i just changed my ssd card and i think i lost my data ( i didnt restore it on a usb) :(
I'm looking to get a new SSD for my PS4. What brand of SSD is recommended?
WD, Samsung, Crucial, Kingston, and SanDisk are all good brands.
Im thinking of gettkng a 500gb slim version. If i replace it with a 256gb SSD does this mean i have 756gb on the machine? Thank u so much.
Not exactly, to have that much space, you still need to have both drives connected. One on the inside and one through USB

Would i have to reformat the flash drive or can i just use a random one i have with other stuff
Make sure it is formatted as FAT32 or exFAT.
Will I lose any game play saved data???
You will lose save data if it’s not backed up somewhere, like external storage or through PlayStation plus

Yes, it’ll recognize its different storage capacity.
Also, nice pfp
Is this for the ps4 update error?
I am assuming it is. I am doing process now. I will comment again with an update asap

People don't read anything nowadays. Wow.
@@awizard2006 bro wdym he literally said it is. I did what he said and it worked for me wtf are u talkin bout? 😂
Pov you dont a pc
what happens if you just straight up put in the ssd and turn on the ps4 without the usb?
