If you record HD content onto a flash or hard drive, are you able to then remove the drive and play the contact on a PC, for instance, or is the data encrypted?
biggest problem was finding an aerial that works, eventually got one from Amazon that cost a bit but sticks on an upstairs window, Recording is sort of OK, switching from the guide where you set record to an app is OK otherwise cant watch TV and record at the same time . Netflix is there, just seeing if I can get CNN
Just had this as a Talktalk replacement for their DN372T box. But it is next thing to useless. It is not dual channel. So unable to record two channels at the same time when programs clash. And some say when it is recording you then have to switch to the TV feed as you can`t record and watch different channels at the same time. But -- there is no `aerial out` socket to route the signal to the TV..... And 4k...!? Are there any 4k channels broadcasting...? Not that I know of. Useless box.
I don’t agree with your statement about smart tvs not being very fast. If you buy a dirt cheap unknown brand one then yea maybe it will be slow but a midrange one will be fine. Something half decent on sale will be fast enough. A fire stick will be very good too.
Shame you can't record the Now TV entertainment channels like on the BT Youview box, or the original TalkTalk TV package several years ago. Interesting there's no sign whatsoever of a TalkTalk brand on screen which is unusual.
Great Video. Only one that shows the box in detail. Seems elderly friendly, unlike Sky, Virgin, Humax. The best was a Zgemma box, but I just bought the Netgem 4K, hopefully it would have had lots of upgrades since, so we shall see how easy it is.
@@battlezordfalcon still too much for elderly. Freesat was what we stuck with. Just not as fast and no RUclips as fast, but never used that. Netgem did not allow channel delete.
Well I'm actually setting this up for my grandparents and this is shocking. Did the set up with QR code scans and emails. I know this is normal now a days, but the elderly wouldn't be able to figure this out.
@@jacobgardner9427 I sent this netgem back, still not easy to use. Talked with their technical department and they are not interested in making it easy. Stuck with Freesat. Just useable. Elderly people been totally forgotten when designing products.
I bought a 2nd hand Netgem 4k box and there seems to be a problem that I can't find an answer to anywhere. Gone through the setup no problem and it's found all the channels etc but go to any channel and there is no sound or picture for any channel. Even the little box in the corner of the menu screen stays blank. Everything else seems to work and nobody anywhere seems to have a clue what the issue is. Can you offer any useful suggestions?
Only one tuner! Really?! Can only record/watch one channel at a time. Clunky interface and even worse remote. Really poor. Really wish I hadn't chosen the TV package with Community fibre
seeing as you only just bought one pls help us. we gave up sky and i bought a zgemma box but sent it back as girlfriend found it too techie. Today my freesat 4k box arrived from Amazon , but problem after problem , no signal, well not for 5 hours on standby , and then and now No guide available. Please tel me why its rubbsh only because i was going to buy one later tday. We have an xpensive 77" lg tv. all i want is uhd 4k or whatever , the same picture quality as sky gave us. If this box cant do that then i might as well get SKY back. pls any help on this.
You showed me so much. Thank you. Much better than sky for half of the money.

Can you get extra HD channels that Freeview doesn't have? So like on Virgin you have ITV2 HD. Can you stream them?
can you play stuff from the usb
Description of this video says Netflix but not sign of it in this video. reading online it doesn’t (or didn’t have it) can you confirm? Thanks
Thank you for a fab video, full of all the info needed, Rock-on!
Will an indoor ariel work with it?
This review is 2 years old now. Are you still using it and has the newer firmware updates fixed the pause issues etc.?

Does this box require a constant Internet/WiFi connection to play freeview television and recording live tv
It will need an aerial for the freview
I need to reset this to factory settings but can’t find the power button????
Does this have Sky Sports news?
I want to get this for my room but i do not have a satellite port in my room so will I miss out on Freeview?
Yeah you will miss out on the freeview channels. However you can access the Freeview Play app via the internet.
Brilliant review!
