- Here's a video of Casino Pier's old Musik Express, a Bertazzon manufactured Himalaya ride, in Seaside Heights, NJ. This particular ride plunged into the ocean during Sandy and was replaced in 2014 with a new model. The video was taken over three visits to Casino Pier; two in 2012 and once in 2011 and features some great, and I do mean GREAT, light and mic work by the ride op DJ Charles. More music rides need a mic man like this; the park was practically dead on the night that I got the bulk of the video yet he was really bringing them in.

Best ride ever. Best known for playing heavy metal to make it more exciting.
It was cool he was dancing and having fun. I danced near the music express. It was a club experience each time.

Aye I just went on this ride today,it's really fun when you go with another person,but also you get to jam out to the music
i love this ride i went on it when it was my birthday and today it is gone because of hurricane sandy i hate that storm!!!!
Awww I remember as a kid this large himalaya version in Miami once just like this but was called chameleon and it looked nicer with a larger hill drop and three hills two large and a small and the lights blinked yellow to green and the art was techno-ish and the chairs were reptilian and it was on for such a long time frontwards then backwards and looked great. Never saw it again. And I've looked for it here and online and can't find it. I know I'm not wrong cause I have great memory. After the chameleon that only saw once there was only regular Himalayas That I saw after and there was a regular himalaya which was smaller amd the cars on tracks were unpleasantly loud and sounded cheap and a big disco ball in center and not as captivating. There was also himalaya express, music express, polar express(which was most popular here) flying bobs (another popular one here), Astro bobs, alpine bobs, alpine express and Matterhorn.

I'm pretty sure it's gone. It looked like a pile of twisted steel in some of the post-Sandy photos I've seen. I wouldn't doubt they get another Himalaya though once they rebuild.

Just to clarify, the Musik Express was destroyed in the hurricane. The structure plunged into the ocean along with the pier and washed up on the beach, the cars and scenery were being stored in another building on the pier that also went into the ocean, but did not wash up. Musik Express cars were found as far north as Point Pleasant. I do hope Casino Pier purchases a new Musik Express, this had to be the most popular ride on the pier.

Maybe they might get a "Hang Ten" ride, as seen from the 2006 and 2008 State Fair Meadowlands. If they do, perhaps they'll make it look even better, adding the strobe lights, LED lights on the rims, cars, and a better experience than both the "Rock n Roll" and "Himalaya"/"Music Express" :-)

Casino Pier is going to rebuild and will try to be open in 2013 but that might be wishful thinking. Funtown Pier on the other hand, well I'm hearing they may not rebuild at all which is a shame.
In my opinion I think the musik express is scary as hell! Mom forced me to go on it when I didn't want to. Lesson: Never force your kids to go on a ride that they don't want to go on.
Is this a "Strates Shows" ride, in other words, the train traveling carnival people? I wonder how often they replace lights, I heard that the traveling carnival will call all hands on deck to get bulbs replaced after a rain storm or before a huge carnival let's say in Syracuse , Erie or one of the huge places that have tons of people. E. James Strate will have it no other way and I'm glad there is still someone like him around.
Sadly, he's not on the musik express anymore and I'm not sure if he's still at casino pier. Also, incase you didn't know, this video was filmed before the two piers were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Edit: fortunately they are recovering quickly but there is only 1 pier now as residents of seaside Park complained because it's to loud so they lost the second piers property.

Super Himalaya knockoff? Which is better? This one seems slower.
Same ride as Super Himalaya but with a different theme. Both are manufactured by Bertazzon. Speed depends on how fast the ride op is allowed to go with 13.5 RPM being the fastest it can go.
TheDoD3 and flying bobs? There's too many. Original is better, in my opinion. I forgot which one I got on last, but it didn't even go backwards, music, smoke, etc. The center wasn't as designed, I think it was just a motor and tires in the center, which looked scary lol.
But eh, there needs to be more (mobile) fast rides. Super Himalaya was an adrenaline rush, out of all of them I know. Oh, and the twizzler. The one that spins and twist. Those my most fav.
Macks Himilaya will always be the best.

That's awful, these rides are SO fun, especially when you're with another person so you are either slamming into them, or they are slamming into you. What's the condition?
