Clicky and Lolyou are the reason I still play the game. Clicky was a huge inspiration for video editing and movement, same with Lolyou
Lolyou was more of a source content creator.

Dude I love everything about this video. It was my childhood watching Lolyou, Nickbunyun, etc. Makes me so happy seeing someone talk about these old youtubers 😭
I remember binge watching Fishy or Not Fishy, hoping that one day I'd reach a high enough rank to get Overwatch. I was bouncing between Silver 3 and Silver 4, I was maybe 14 and I was terrible. Then I ended up reaching Gold Nova, got overwatch and maybe reviewed a handful of clips at most. Good times

Lolyou is the reason I started playing csgo and why I learned movement and got obsessed with it. I still go back to some of his old videos but I really miss his streams.
Me and my mate got to meet Lolyou in a valorant game last year and I didn't believe he was the real deal. Confirmed it by sending him a message on twitter and I absolutely lost it. He was the main reason I got into playing counterstrike. He invited me and my friend to his discord to play a couple more matches with him and I did ask why he stopped posting vids (the same reasons you explained in the video). Super cool dude and I'm glad he's doing well, really hope he posts some cs2 content. Great video Goldec!
Clicky is the main reason I've become the movement enjoyer in csgo and it's sad that there's no more content but going back to the videos now feels soooo nostalgic

This was a huge throwback, thank you! I remember watching all of them, except for Mojo. The only one I didn't watch for CSGO content out of this list was Frankie, whom I'd been following before my CS phase for his DayZ content (mainly for the adventure story he created with it, as I didn't play the game myself). I literally can tell which video that is just from that clip alone you showed lol that's how much I watched his DayZ vids. I still hold Frankie in super high regards, one of my favorite YTbers for sure.
Nice to know lolyou is doing fine. 😊 To think I only found him when his old (even back then) nade boosting montage came up in a reddit thread.

RE: FrankieOnPC bunny hopping drama, he later said that it was recorded on a private server with a friend where they modified the server settings something something.... dear god why do I remember this

Hatton Games, he was great, had some good popular videos and great nade/strat vids. His channel received 3+ strikes for copyright infringement on old videos all at once, where it might not have even been legit claims, and his channel was deleted overnight. It took like a year to get it back. He walked away at that point, since the channel was already dying anyways.

The main flaw that I think lead to their fall off was lack of drive and innovations.
As long as you never stop posting and slowly improving, you will never end up like any of these guys so dont worry about it.

Thats wild, I was remincising at Clicky and Lolyou videos yesterday for the first time in a long while.
I truly believe Clicky's montages were ahead of its time, while imo Lolyou was inspiration for what currently a lot of the "FranzJ" type youtubers are (not taking away any credit from FranzJ ofcourse!)
Its good to know most of them just retired and went on to live a normal life

Your editing style is actually one I see exceptionally rarely. Instead of trying to grab at everything the viewer has and getting every bit of their attention, you are much more slower paced and thoughtful with your content, instead laying out the information as presented, which is an honestly awesome thing to see :)
I've been doing editing on my own for quite a while now, and I'm slowly getting better, but I will definitely keep this in mind for some longer-form videos :D

ClickyCrisp responded with a comment to my RUclips video about how I started music, where I mentioned that he was one of the reasons I even started making music at all. That comment alone made my whole year knowing he saw my video and to know he’s doing okay :)

Another thing worth noting about FrankieonPC is that he got exposed cheating in his DayZ videos, using godmode, spawning in weapons and ammo and deceptively editing his videos to hide it, he did such a good job of taking down the videos exposing him via copyright strikes that it flew well under the radar, it's funny that what got him was pretending to bunnyhop using scripts or server commands on cs:go.

Daaamn this was a trip down memory lane. I think the current CS RUclips scene is probably better than back then since the main people that quit were scammers, and the guys who made good content still upload, but there were a few legendary channels that i do miss

Deadass, I ran into Frankie a few months ago on CSGO w my friend. It was weird and he didn’t really speak much.
This is the most underated Yt channel i have ever seen in my life
I remember the FrankieonPC controversy from back then. There was a similiar one before in DayZ Arma 2 Mod, where he used wallhacks, aimbots and godmode. Not only that, there was also a DayZ ''Being held on gunpoint by bandits'' video out there, which was also scripted. He met some german dudes in a supermarket which ultimately un-alived him, then he did the same for revenge. What frankie didnt say was, that his awesome one-liners were recorded AFTER the encounter, because the germans uploaded the original and he only used a high pitch voice changer ingame. He basically made them look evil and himself like a hero. So its VERY likely he used B-hop scripts to make it more uhh ''cinematic'' PS: You do great stuff, you earned yourself a new sub
