This game was a godsend to people who ran zombie mod community servers because they could steal most of the assets off of CSO and add them to their own mod and lock it behind a paywall lmao
Exactly, that's why there are lots of CS1.6 community zombie servers using assets from it and they have been doing that since CS Online was a thing in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Zombie servers were the best when they had the Half-Life 2 zombies and Resident Evil atmosphere.
As a Ex Counter strike Nexon to me is great since Counter strike Online SEA has been shutdown then I move on to CsoNexon and until now I'm still playing as nostalgia
Being a veteran for almost 14 years at this game, I can say with confidence that this game was incredible, and arguably hit its peak in 2013. It's really sad to see how it turned out in the end, but that's the direction Nexon chose for the game and the playerbase has sort of gone along with it (a good amount of people only play for nostalgia more than anything). Old players will remember the fragmovies, korean memes and whatnot from around 2009 to 2012, it was such a great time. The game definitely had potential and was at some point at a good standing, but that's now buried in the past.
funnily enough all those guns have made it into Garry's Mod, this just made me realize that some DarkRP server i used to play on had these for their weapons
This game used to be real solid when it stuck to its cso roots since it simply was the na port for cso. Over time, they changed it too much to really incentivice and focus the pay to win aspects (which were always there but never too problematic) and eventually to the studio update which really killed off the game due to lack of support and actual content updates for the main modes people were interested in.
This game could've been really popular if they just advertized the game as "free to play classic CS that just so happens to have other cool side gamemodes" instead putting all of their marketing push on the zombies. Most if my fun from CSO1 / CSN:S came from the original gamemodes like Bomb and Team Deathmatch and party games like Hide 'n Seek. The zombies can be fun like Zombie Scenario and Zombie Escape being the absolute highlights. But the other zombie PvP modes are just hot ass especially when people get the crazy pay to win weapons with insane knock back. Thank god the game lets you keep classic only weapons on. Glad to see you give the game an honest fair shot. And great video as always. 👍
A long player here (or used to be, haven't played in two years). Seeing this game evolved from what basically is a zombie mod of CS 1.6, into whatever RPG fantasy story it is currently, is... I can't even put it into words. I just, love this game. Brought me so much nostalgia. And the chaos it has in the current zombie mode, man, no game like this I could think of. I was at a loss when they closed the server in my country, making me loose all my progress. Reopened in steam doesn't help much, though still as much fun, I don't feel the same without me playing in my first account. I guess it really got attached on me.
Counter Strike Nexon Zombies (back then) was an amazing game, I loved playing it during countless hours, but ever since they changed it from Zombies to Studio it kinda died mostly because of the P2W guns and stuff, It was bad before, but now it's even worse...
I have over 600hrs in this game from long time ago where it still had the zombies label. I noticed since it got the studio label, it came with more pop ups and less players in the original gamemodes. Zombie hero and run/escape were great but no one playes them anymore, prob 'cause of the constant new p2w weapons just made these gamemodes too easy to cheese. Ye, the UI even back then was pretty bad and it has gotten even worse overtime imo. Regardless, I had fun during most of my playtime
Yeah I can guess, idk when u played this game but back when I started, around 2016-17 the difference between p2w vs f2p players wasnt that bad, it was noticable but nowhere near as much as nowdays. Today I'd believe as a f2p player is basically impossiabe to compete against p2w@@tairblenn7535
One of my favorite experiences was when I first got a "gaming" laptop (a really bad laptop that could barely hold tf2 at 720p) and loading up Nexon Zombies on Zombie Escape. It had like four really good maps and my favorite was the one where everyone starts on a rooftop and they have to go down and up the different floors and it was a MOOD bro. You just had to be there when there were like 29 survivors running away from 3 zombies as they slowly get picked off one by one.
CSO was my life back in the day. Seeing CSNZ (later CSNS) was a blast from the past. Well, until they nuked everyone's accounts during some limited-time account migration and didn't return the items in those accounts unless you had migrated in time. That was annoying, so I stopped playing the game. But to this day, CSO/CSNS remains the only way to play CS as if it were an MMOFPS game. The Zombie Scenario modes were so fun and were basically an RPG gamemode. You got to use fantastical weapons in essentially a campaign mission replete with endless hordes of varied zombies along with story-relevant and unique bosses in grand boss fight arenas. If you wanted to chill there was the ever reliable Zombie Escape modes, except with much better visuals and game mechanics as compared to the Zombie Escape community servers built out of CSGO, and the Zombie Infection gamemodes really gave a sense of desperation and camaraderie as humans formed walls of gunfire to survive against zombies with literally thousands of HP. Of course, it was a buggy messy (but in a charming way, given the ancient graphics) and the absolute epitome of Pay2Win, but otherwise it was an unforgettable experience.
The thing with items expiring from your inventory is something that was in every possible korean F2P shooter. This was back when these games were pay to win and they wanted to entice you by letting you rent these things for in game currency to get you to buy them with real money.
Man, I tried this a long time ago, but never really delved into it because of that bad UI. Im sure if they ever fixed that, it would actually be worth it to try and explore. There must be some hidden gems in there just like in the other CS games.

The perks ("mutations") were pretty fun to learn and gives you a reason to try a variety of weapons. and the level system made it so you didn't had to worry about op weapons until late game. stopped playing a while before they extended the levels to 50, so i have no idea who different it is now (and doubt it will be the same experience with the insanely low playerbase)

Thank you for your honest review of Counter-Strike Nexon Studio. I agree with you that the game has many problems such as a confusing reward system, outdated interface, and poor graphics and sound quality. However, I also found many interesting and fun moments in the game, especially in the zombie and studio modes. I like that the game offers a lot of variety and opportunities for creativity. I think the game is worth a try if you're a Counter-Strike fan and aren't afraid to experiment with new modes and weapons. I would give the game a 6/10.
The problem is Korean Games are literally like Japan but more pay 2 win and ironically the weapons are very overpowered and need to pay decoder and open that decoder like gacha systems.
no one talks about the intro lbp was the best game growing up no one can change my mind. edit: i finished the video and the studio mode is close to lbp also lol
I am the person who got the "Survivor" Achievement. I survived Zombie modes (Original, Mutant, Hero) more than 5,000 times. It wasn't easy, but I didn't give up. I learned how to stand up to zombies, how to use different weapons, and how to work as a team. I experienced many emotions, from fear and anger to joy and pride. I enjoyed every second of the game and every victory. I love Counter-Strike Nexon Studio and I think it is the best game in the world. I am proud of my Achievement and I want to share it with you. Thank you for your attention!
the nostalgia between me and CSO, where we used to get beaten up by zombies with just a generic yet decent weapon. and now it's totally opposite, which is zombie now getting beaten up by human with some crazy p2w OP weapons (Epic weapons). Despite the unbalanced match, still love playing the game
Also some sort of little spoiler lore of Zombie Scenario: It all started with Dr. Rex with his crazy ass idea to make lab rats and some sort of human power experiment such as a modification zombie prototype, he make his company itself but closed in public. Soy was the first partner of Dr. Rex's company and said if this project was none other than non-sense and dangerous. However, Dr. Rex didn't care and decided to keep the experiment. Until the incident occurred, the labs had been destroyed, Jennifer ran with her friend Jack but Jack had been trapped and decided to sacrifice himself. Soy was the Doctor or professor in his experiment found in dangerous situations all because Dr. Rex's experiment turns humans into zombies she is trapped in the laboratory which becomes ruins and finds the way out until she finds the terrorist or survivor David Black and tells everything and what happens. About map and scenario will be complicated....maybe others who play more will explain.
Also note: The zombie's scenario had connected with Zombie Files which means the lore also going more hell on it. And now they expand the galaxy like hell dagnabit who thef*ckthiswaifusdegenerateinvolvetobruhboogaloo
I used to play it back when it was still inder the zombies label. Its surprisingly decent for a cheap f2p flip of 1.6. I have no desire to ever come back to it. Still interesting to see that its still around.
This game, atleast the "Counter Strike Online" version is a big part of my childhood and still playing the game until 2019 after Megaxus decided to pull the plug as the last version on CSO in the world. the game is wacky fun and pretty much direct competition with Crossfire when the game is still widely popular in Asian Market especially Southeast Asia. Playing the Studio version honestly didn't felt as fun as before, probably nostalgia reasons or something but i still comes around to play the game regularly. It's worth the try.
EDIT: Fixed already, now there's 151 achievements and rewards for every 15 you get. A note about the achievements, currently there are talks about fixing it but you actually have to complete the requirements twice because they're tied to an in-game Medal system that comes with cosmetic rewards, and that system was updated a while ago to add stages to them to give Achievement Points to buy said cosmetics from a point shop, but the medals are only marked as complete when the final stage is achieved so Steam doesn't actually grant the achievement until then.
That gameplay clip of fighting the flying bird made me remember that I've played this game before lol. I mostly just ignored the complicated stuff and just randomly played a server
i remember Counter-Strike Online being one of the most popular pc games (among other Nexon titles) in Taiwan (and Korea & probably China) over a decade ago. The microtransaction is obviously as predatory as one might expect from Nexon, but it was still a blast to witness how much unhinged content and weaponry they've managed to cram into CS 1.6 back in the day. My favorite weapon was a Korean K1A rifle that comes with a plaga-looking creature that shoots acid grenades at the enemies
I had tons of fun with it back in 2014 when it came out. Sadly game changed so much in few years, I tried to play it again like 2-3 times. I felt so lost even more than I started, I liked pve zombie modes the most, pvp was also nice (op weapons ftw)
same here, I played from 2015-16 me and a buddy of mine used to hang out, smoke alot of weed and play it because we were broke ass teenagers and had potato laptops those PVE zombie modes were fun especially zombie scenario, the one big monster game mode was pure shenanigans too. I remember one time I was randomly given the agent jenny skin by the game in a drop box and I was so puzzled because I saw almost no one else with that skin. I hopped back on recently and man it's definitely changed, back then the BALROG weapons were OP as hell and now they're weak as hell hahaa! your comment revived alot of good memories for me
Growing up in S.E.A, Counter Strike Online was huge, it had weekly/monthly update of new weapons, characters, zombies, maps and game modes all in a pay to win package. You could spent $5 for a gun that last anywhere from 5 days to a week, or $15 to unlock said gun permanently.
There are a lot of players that enjoy the original cs zm mod... This had potential to be that, the best zombie mode there is as a seperate game. However its way too pay too win and the weapons nowdays are too flashy... Anyways, as someone with 500hrs on the game, i think you can get pretty decent guns if you are f2p and have some fun :)
Back in the day, Nexon Zombies was the best free game i've ever played, i would play it constantly while listening to creepypasta stories in the background. the zombie runs were the best and the crazy ass bosses
5:50 Shit, I waste 35 minute of my life beating that map. And you just found that spot to speedrun it. There's Zombie Giant mode which 1 player got chosen randomly to become a boss with it skill and stuff, you can also evolve into stronger from with 1 additional ultimate skill to wrecking the human team. But then the OP gun got added to the game and people keep killing the boss in less than 5s so nobody ever play that mode anymore, what a shame, if you play human and you kill enough point, you can also calling for vehicle like Giant Robot or Helicopter to fight the Boss player. In my 40-60 hours playing that mode I also discover a trick that the TF2 player call demoknight trimping.
Dalm the nostalgia hit hard. This one was one of my childhood games. Used to grind this sht. I even learn how to bunny hop or surfing cuz i love zombie escape so badly. When you are the first guy that is up ahead in zombie escape it feels good sometimes. I still even remember some of the guns that is in that game. (Example harpoon gun can boost you up to invisible pixel) or the plasma gun, that sht was nice. Or in zombie darkness for the first time i got scared in a video game, hiding in a invisible wall. They hear your gun shot but cant see you and you can see them and you're the last one left. It sad that it turn into a pay to win,it was a fun game. My favorite mods that i remember : 1. Zombie escape (snow, castle, rooftop map) 2. Zombie Hero (Italy map) 3. Zombie scenario (fighting giant Mantis bug) 4. Zombie shelter (first map) 5. Zombie darkness (2 tower map or the city) 6. Vs AI
I used to play a game called Wolf Team (released in 2007) which was at one point owned by Nexon. The UI and a lot of the cosmetics are very reminiscant of that game.
This game was released in 2008. That's why it has such an interface in the menu. In 2014, it simply went beyond Asia and was also released on Steam. So it existed and was updated in South Korea and China since 2008. This game uses the latest version of the GoldSource engine from Cs Condition zero, not from cs 1.6.
I played 800 hours of it and most of the time despite how much I hate the P2w weapons and monetization, I enjoys my time with it, had alot of fun with all these zombies mode and Human Scenarios was my most favorite mode, it reminded me of CSCZ Deleted Scenes single player campaign but with co-op.
I love jank-ass korean zombie-mode games. Like I put way more time into battle teams (a browser based cs ripoff with a similar zombie mode) than anyone reasonably should. Just somethin' real comfy about it
I remember playing this alot as a kid and what I liked alot were the zombie shelter (pretty much a janky base builder survival escape sort of thing but funny though kinda hard to understand) and gun game (but in the past it used to give you special guns that you had to pay for and it was funny cause it made a whole different gamemode from the normal gun game in cs1.6 and the last kill was with a nade)
when I was a kid I was obsessed with the zombie escape mode. but some reason very few people play it. I think csnz zombie escape maps are much better than we had in cs1.6 and csgo the way they don't require you to run for 30 minutes
Back in the day I used to play the game because the anti-cheat was super good since no matter where you checked there was no public cheats available only private ones. I used to play Zombie Shelter or something like that since I haven't played the game in a long time. Also great video.
I remember when csn:z firt released. I was excited to see a new cs game. I played it once, realized I could just get the same thing playing modded css and never launched it again😂

no one talks about the intro lbp was the best game growing up no one can change my mind. edit: i finished the video and the studio mode is close to lbp also lol

Also some sort of little spoiler lore of Zombie Scenario:
It all started with Dr.
And now they expand the galaxy like hell dagnabit who thef*ckthiswaifusdegenerateinvolvetobruhboogaloo
bro i absolutely loved the little big planet reference i miss playing that game all the time
I used to play it back when it was still inder the zombies label. Its surprisingly decent for a cheap f2p flip of 1.6. I have no desire to ever come back to it. Still interesting to see that its still around.
would love to see history of some community server game modes like hvh, hns, csurf, etc. great video as always
zombie hero used to be absolutely goated back in the day
That buying system really reminds me of the early Combat Arms games i played as a kid.
This is crazy seeing THIS GAME today, advertised in one of my fav cs youtubers as a sponsor. Wow
as just batshit insane as this all is, it's quite impressive they've basically made Gmod Gldsrc!

Cry of Fear's Honest Reaction to that information:
EDIT: Fixed already, now there's 151 achievements and rewards for every 15 you get.
A note about the achievements, currently there are talks about fixing it but you actually have to complete the requirements twice because they're tied to an in-game Medal system that comes with cosmetic rewards, and that system was updated a while ago to add stages to them to give Achievement Points to buy said cosmetics from a point shop, but the medals are only marked as complete when the final stage is achieved so Steam doesn't actually grant the achievement until then.
The most trought unbiased and positive review for CS Nexon Zombies/Studio I have seen on RUclips.
Nobody has done a good video for this game like this, so glad I got recommended this!
as a zombies games lover i will play the zombies mode 24/7
I hopped back on recently and man it's definitely changed, back then the BALROG weapons were OP as hell and now they're weak as hell hahaa! your comment revived alot of good memories for me
The Shelter gamemode was my favorite, put lots of hours into it and it's sad that it was not updated with maps anymore.
I am so glad you used LBP music in this video, it really brought back good memories :) all the love 💚
Man this brings back memories, I need to install this game. I used to play it when I was young and couldn't afford CS:GO to play with my friends
It's common to see a game like this in south east asia, and most people don't care about the p2w system
R u talking about cs extreme?
Bro, I watched this high and it was AMAZING! Would definitely recommend
reminds me of combat arms to be honest. was a wild era of fps games
Love the silly cats
05:06 On these days this Game was Dominated by People from Southeast Asia especially Indonesia (My Country)
Fun fact: the last event Fnatic's CS 1.6 team played was a weird in-person CSO league that required them to live in Korea for a couple months.
The intro, omg, Little big planet! wonderful editing, keep it up!
Back in the day, Nexon Zombies was the best free game i've ever played, i would play it constantly while listening to creepypasta stories in the background. the zombie runs were the best and the crazy ass bosses
5:50
Shit, I waste 35 minute of my life beating that map.
I was thinking kick the baby, kick the baby and 2:04 it exploded. very pleased.
My favorite mods that i remember :
1. Zombie escape (snow,castle,rooftop map)
2. Zombie Hero (Italy map)
3. Zombie scenario (fighting giant Mantis bug)
4. Zombie shelter (first map)
5. Zombie darkness (2 tower map or the city)
6. Vs AI
He played it no fking way
Let's goooo
Great video and awesome editing as always :3
I love the idea of the silly kitty living in Office
i'm not gonna lie this sounds pretty fun except for the paywalls / limited items lol
You already know it's goldec when the lbp music kicks in
I used to play a game called Wolf Team (released in 2007) which was at one point owned by Nexon. The UI and a lot of the cosmetics are very reminiscant of that game.
it's my childhood game(tho I play on the SEA server on the og CSO)
This game was released in 2008. That's why it has such an interface in the menu. In 2014, it simply went beyond Asia and was also released on Steam. So it existed and was updated in South Korea and China since 2008. This game uses the latest version of the GoldSource engine from Cs Condition zero, not from cs 1.6.
I played 800 hours of it and most of the time despite how much I hate the P2w weapons and monetization, I enjoys my time with it, had alot of fun with all these zombies mode and Human Scenarios was my most favorite mode, it reminded me of CSCZ Deleted Scenes single player campaign but with co-op.
every motherfucker I know that grew up on lbp is a creative genius, and goldec is one of them
the editing slaps
God I remember when it was called nexon: zombies, I used to play it back then alot
I love jank-ass korean zombie-mode games. Like I put way more time into battle teams (a browser based cs ripoff with a similar zombie mode) than anyone reasonably should. Just somethin' real comfy about it
I remember having the Nexon Zombies on a bootleg cd and it was golden on my offline days
This game was a fuckin fever dream from a decade ago and it always surprises me its still going
4:39 dude this game is like black squad x left 4 dead
I would of loved this back in 1.6 days, never knew it existed
Counter-Strike: Nexon Studio❌
CS: Condition Zero filled with bunch of mods✅
The fact that this is all running on GoldSrc is pretty awesome
Honestly, if you have competitive games, this is the CS for you.
Another goldecc video
Babe wake up, new goldec video
i like that youtube started pushing new videos from smaller channels more. subbed.
the little big planet 1 music was perfect
really good video, cheers
I ever played this game since 2015. Skull 5 is my favorite weapon at that time.
counter strike nexon studio's UI feels like an MMORPG's UI
confusing with a heck of a lot going on
I remember when csn:z firt released. I was excited to see a new cs game. I played it once, realized I could just get the same thing playing modded css and never launched it again😂
Counter Strike nexon zombies was fire remember playing as a kid
Played this too much years ago for the crazy stuff. Still surprises me they did all of this in goldsrc
my fav game
Video started with LBP audio / music playing in the background.
Instant like.
Very interesting!
Man i remember playing this game as a kid playing zombie giant or zombie Shelter those where my favorite gamemodes
that was an interesting video. also, seeing you play Little Big Planet in the intro/outro made me smile. LBP video soon ?
