So basically, CSGO _does_ have lore, and that lore is that we're basically a bunch of mercenaries fighting for unseen governing bodies?
Bro this is literally just Team Fortress 2 but with M16's and AK47's.
How about counter strike condition Zero deleted sinse have story to

There is no m16 in csgo though….
@@baconflakes3345yes there is
@@Freedomman2butthesecond its in cs online, but not csgo
I've played the missions and barely payed attention to the lore behind them and it's really cool. Besides, I think it would have been awesome if Valve kept the maps as a single player campaign but the vision they have with CS is to push skins (aka virtual pixels) and its competitive scene.

In the original game, maps have short descriptions about the lore and objective of both the CT and T. They're mostly retconned in CSGO though, still pretty cool to add small details to maps.
Wait you mean 1.6? I've never seen any descriptions, where are they?

For the Ts,, yeah, but not on the CTs. The CTs are basically real life authorities trained and deployed for counterterrorism. There's a military faction (SEAL 🇺🇸, SAS 🇬🇧, IDF 🇮🇱), police force (GSG-9 🇩🇪, Police SWAT), gendarmerie (GIGN 🇫🇷), and government agency (FBI).
@@Mr-E they still had descriptions in cs 1.6 and source buddy
CS:GO lore is more confusing than matpat explaining fnaf lore
only in valve games do people have 30k hours on the game and not realize there's lore behind it
This is so true
I like how you've told the story of Counter Strike here, it's got a really (cool) different vibe from the kind Vaati-esque video I made, is nicely paced and editted. I also like the way the vagueness of the lore lends to slightly different interpretations whenever someone tries to break it down, I liked hearing a similar but also different perspective to mine (your take on train was really interesting).

CT: "They are terrorists, do I need a reason?"
T; "They are the infidels, do I need a reason?"
After hearing about the lore to this, I still wonder about groups such as the Professionals, Anarchists, Pirates, Elite Crew, and other in-game terrorist groups. Are they involved in this conflict, or are their battles merely taking place parallel to the fight between the Coalition and the Phoenix Connexion?
Still so much that Valve hasn't touched on yet, and it makes me very curious
Most def groups that got caught in the crossfire, like their CT counterparts FBI, GIGN, etc.
It could be simply that they've taken inspiration from what they see as the most successful and well-organized terrorist organization and mimick their style of operation.
Pro tip: you can get some details from these organizations by reading the agents descriptions.
They are just other terrorists fighting their own war.
The Separatists are based off the ETA, an actual terrorist organisation that used to operate in Spain and France, taking this into consideration, it's most likely that they're fighting their own battles unrelated to the Phoenix Connexion (though I do find it weird how the British SAS are fighting them in Inferno)
Same could be said about the Anarchists and Pirates, considering how their apparitions are very few, we could assume they are disorganised small groups with their own agendas and objectives set aside from the Phoenix Connexion's, the Pirates' being, obviously, piracy, since they're based off most likely Somalian pirates (I don't know how planting a C4 helps with that though). The Anarchists being mere renegades and outcasts of society, using their own funds to buy weapons and such
The Professionals from what I remember are mercenaries that do what the highest bidder has to offer, so one could theorise that the Phoenix Connexion, in an attempt to have a bit more of manpower, has hired the Professionals in order to carry out more attacks at the same time (We could debunk this though, if we consider that the PC is not in the best condition to be hiring mercs)
Lastly, for the Elite Crew, it's something similar to the Seps, they have their own goals in the Middle East, unrelated to what the Phoenix Connexion wants, at most having a neutral relationship with them where they agree to not interfere with each other's plans and actions
srry for the essay lmao i also like this
This just makes me REALLY wish that Valve made a campaign of some kind for this story!
Or maybe make videos like "Meet the Team" for TF2. Where we see and witness CT and T stories!
But I think they're more focused on milking money from community skins and making CS2 to focus on that.
To be fair, them being focused on making CS2 aint a bad thing tho
@@TheHUEZOX True, it looks great, hopes to them maybe expanding the story in CS2?
@@aydinmakesthings hopefully!!
There's Condition Zero Deleted Scenes
There was a "campaign" every operation is a campaign
When you said "why are they fighting?" my mind was like: "duh, theyre terrorists bombing places, thats why"
And then, you brought me deeper to the story...
Same here 😂
Plot twist terrorists are the good guys because they bomb the duck out of soviets.
FPS brain
Even terrorists have reasons to do what they do, most of the time its money or influence. They dont just blow things up for fun
@batt300 yeah thats me
the lore and coop-strike is what i love the most about these operations, it sucks they had none in riptide
Wow if valve were to incorporate this story into the game not stuck behind a paywall it would be really cool
I thought you could play this without paying right?
But you wouldn't get any rewards. Idk maybe operations are just a myth and they have never existed. We just imagined them
Or just spend 15 bucks and get your money back in cases within a month. See it as buyting a battle pass.
@@Monk3y_C ur right tho my fault for neglecting the missions, i felt no incentive without the skins lmfao
@@CrashSeven how do u do that ive been playing for years ive never thought of that
@@shahabshahid4260 bit of an L on ur part then
No no, the story of Counter Strike is that terrorists developed a bomb that only kills people without damaging any surrounding buildings or wooden crates. You'd think this is pointless because they could just use poison gas but it's actually superior because it still makes a cool explosion.
The hostages, or "hosties" in-universe, are the only people that know how to manufacture both the bombs and the bomb defusal kits, so both sides want to keep them alive.
There are also chickens.
In some maps, there are actually some details that giveaways on how the Terrorists reached the site.
Back in the old days, you could see the maps description and each of team's objectives on details. Such as, the map background and why's it important, Ts objective, and CTs importance role on why are they deployed in the first place.
On old nuke, you could see the van they arrived in just behind the spawn. Such details are missing from most newer maps, which sucks :(
@@croma2068 I'm pretty sure there were no details on most of the old maps. On new nuke you have truck on t spawn and on old nuke it was the ticket booth at the end of t spawn.. not sure if there was any truck though. On inferno they basically spawned next to chicken house, mirage didn't change, old train was just source port, cache was the same + cache didn't change much since 2019 update, they just got the plants. here ans there. New inferno has trucks on ct side, it has truck on nuke, mirage stays the same, it still has truck on the back, dust got more lore friendly realistic overhaul as this looks like actual living town, instead of some dessert nonsense with bigass doors everywhere, as it was some military facility, yet it had balconies everywhere and destroyed cars and stuff.. same applies to dust 1, office stays the same so it's really lore friendly, train has trucks on both sides, tbh map are making more sense in terms of lore now that they ever were.
@@lold6d2 in cs:s there was a van at t spawn iirc
Vans, crashed fences, dead security guards, ladders and a nice little map description
@@TheExperienceYT maybe, but in most cases we have better story telling in newer maps. Older maps didn't make sense most of the time, broken fences and vans probably refer to launch trailer.
I hope they keep improving/giving more content to these missions in CS2
I really hope so as well

I can't believe FranzJ invented Danger Zone to eliminate all the silvers that didn't survive in Nuke
Oh dude I love the editing and video! It's so unique and with the cats being CT and T, It's so cute and funny. you should do more like these, maybe explaining the TF2 story line. Either way really good content!
Videos of this quality deserves more than 9k subs
I dont even play cs but still enjoy your videos. The editing, the timing, the way you talk... Its soo good and fun to listen to! You speak clearly, not too slow or fast, have nice visuals that keep you watching but dont overwhelm. Keep it up!!!!
Fun fact.
5:50 - Valeria Jenner... Same voice as Horizon on Apex Legends. I knew i heard that voice before. hahahha
I am a TF2 player, but i am still very fascinated by CS:GO. And I always wondered what was the lore behind this goddamn game, and then this video popped up in my recommended, and i am glad i watched it. Amazing work. Hope you do more stuff like this, in the future. ;)
this is exactly how it feels like to learn anything in history class bruh
I literally only watched this in its entirety because of the thumbnail. Keep doing that, it works.
This is a video I never knew I wanted. Played CS:GO for 10 years, all of the operation missions, read all of the comics in-game and I still only learned about 5% of what you're talking about.
Thanks for making it! Love the editing and abundance of cats!
dudee the editing has gotten so much better!! keep doing dis and i assure you that ur gonna blow tf up, big luv homie :)
Bro this video quality is insane, I love to see you growing so fast!
I was expecting some kind of recap of all the little lore tidbits and environment storytelling in each map, not to learn that the CTs are actually Corpo kill squads.
Epic.
I swear I had heard Valeria's voice somewhere before - It turns out, it's the same voice actor as Horizon from Apex Legends! Nonetheless, this is an amazing video, and I learned a lot about one of my favorite games. Bravo!
really well put together video! keep up the great work
I was looking to play the older CSGO operations. Thank you for linking them
I’m not big on CS: GO, but I feel like you could do real well speaking on other similar stuff in games. Can’t wait to see what more you do!
this was fucking great dude, im surprised how genuinely interesting im finding CS lore lol

CSGO Lore: why are we planting the bomb?, why are kidnapped the hostage?, who do we work for?, who's behind all of the V ship cooperation?, we are the bad guys all along?,...
seriously, valve really know how to make us curious about the story in a game that almost nobody noticed.
Tbh the valorant lore is still pretty interesting
I knew there was the story from the operations, but I thought it was gonna be a video about how different custom maps have their own stories in the descriptions as to why the terrorists are in those places
i absolutely love your editing style
"Why am i planting this bomb" has got to be the least safe google search ever

I have never played Counter Strike, but I watched this whole video for the funny cats. Good video.
You mentioned that the second mission was a little messed up. Would you mind elaborating? Fantastic video, by the way. Love the editing, and the summary at the end was super helpful lol
I actually ended up fixing the problem I had and forgot to re-record it. The mission wouldn’t play any of the radio voices but I ended up finding another one on the workshop

This is gonna blow up, I feel it. Finally, someone who explains the lore!
A lot of effort was put into this video. Very nice work.

well maybe my turn will be when i finally release my game.
Good video mate I really enjoyed watching and learned a lot. There's one thing I'd like to point out to help you improve the delivery. The speed at which you give out the information makes it hard to track. It is very dense and can be hard to fully understand what you just said before thinking about the next thing you say. Other than that keep up the good work your content is fire.
I appreciate the feedback! I'll make sure to try and make things more understandable next time. Even I found it a bit hard to track at some points so it def needs it.
1:08 no way it's my favourite csgo youtuber FranzK
So are the CT's the baddies?
i saw u from tiktok, ur content is rly nice and u got a sub :)
honestly dude you have so much potential
Damn, you made me care about CSGO.... Consider me impressed. Another mega W for you, your content is incredibly engaging!
Great video dude. If any lore is explained to me using pngs of cats, I'm watching.
Yknow the story is a very serious one but all I can hear and feel is the little big planet music. Thank you for the bit of nostalgia lol
For the longest time, I always assumed that the Counter-Strike series was one of those game series that didn't have any deep storytelling or lore beyond a barebones but easy-to-understand plot premise that wasn't hard to grasp for most people. I also thought that it was like that by design for Counter-Strike not to have any lore or at least the bare minimum of a backstory and a very paper-thin plot. I never expected Counter-Strike to have actual characters in it at all.
very cool, wish they incorporated these as an entire pve campaign
Very epic video, I wonder how as_oilrig will play into all of this
id love to see them do like a mini series because the lore is amazing
this video is awesome, gj my guy!
i hope we get more lore when cs2 comes out
I didn't know anyone on this planet had actually played these missions. This is literally the first time I've heard anyone tak about them on any level and I used to play this game often and always wondered about the ads for the missions
I feel like every game that valve makes a comic on, is connected to Half Life in some way. Like TF2, the mercs are always fighting their opposites, also they can respawn infinitely. Like they use BM tech. Medic's Uniform looks familiar as well. Also, in CSGO, DZ looks terrible, The Sky, The Buildings. everything feels like it was because of BM.
The SAS, Phoenix Connexion, Leet Krew, Arctic Avengers, all the way to the French GIGN are insignificant under the Combine empire's boot and totally had to surrender their armaments... whereas those who went into hiding helped mankind try to fight back.
That was a cool intro, it zoomed out from the thumbnail. Nice editing!
csgo and cats are like the best combo i recently discovered i needed in my life since those cats and cool csgo clips started popping off
0:41 The soviets finally collapsed on the 26th of december 1991
Finally someone noticed .
i just love that u used one of the best little big planet songs in 4:45. simply gg. oh and great vid btw
Fantastic video!
My one question I'd love to see answered later: what is everyone's beef with V-Shipping Corp? There are tons of corps that have massive control and do bad shit on the daily; it makes me wonder what makes them the primary target in this story.
i see silly cats, i subscribe
this is great thanks for explaining the story and lore
great video
i came from your tiktok and it felt wrong to watch this gem of a video in horizontal 😂
I've played this game since Operation Breakout and I didn't know any of this, thanks for covering this! Very informative and I really like the speed of your talking in this video (I only mention this since you brought it up at the end).
Man, thank you for this! I am not one of these brain deads, which dont care about the lore. And I must admit, I thought that the lore is just the terrorists vs cts, but as I see, its more! 🙂
I have instantly fallen in love with your video style. I'm one person and it might not be the most support, but I can at the very least throw down a like and tell my friends who are 200% into csgo about this video. Still don't have access to Source 2 beta. Thanks csgo you freaks. Thanks for the content man. Needed this info.
The quality is amazing.

But, the good guys are the terrorists.

I liked the way you described the video with silly cats with the Counter strike gear on them

I really enjoyed this, be sure to keep us up to date! Thankuuu for ur effort~ ✨😼
Something interesting is that Franz's last name seems to be composed of the words 'Krieg' and 'Geld', which means war and money in German respectively
Franz's main role is to supply the terrorists with facilities, weapons and other material to acquire more wealth which makes a war profiteer or in other words, someone who makes money from war
CS:GO developers you clever dogs
gimme those sprites
this is why i hate competitive games
When you used to sign the trade up contracts in old CSGO, I’d always sign as Booth so I’d get the skins I signed for lol
the editing is hella good keep it up
Why can't we just get along, be friends?
The Soviet Union collapsed in 1992
My mistake
Having played CSS off an on for a couple years, I always interpreted the events of the games as an expensive training excercise for Spec-Ops troops.
