Hey guys! I know that this is a bit of a complicated process, especially if you haven’t used layers before, and it can be overwhelming.
Feel free to let me know if I was not clear about anything specifically. I would appreciate the criticism! It will help future videos to be better. I try to keep it as concise as possible, but stacking and combo-ing these features and functionality is very difficult to concise down sometimes! Leave literally “any” request in the comments of any of my videos! If I feel like I can help troubleshoot / answer a specific question with another video, I will!
Thanks in advance to you all!!

Another top tip dope video, but what really interested me was the head animation at the end. Will you do an video about it?

Thank you! This was a bit hard to explain because layers are complicated and I felt I went a bit too long.
I hope that it helps you!
As for the head, yes I can absolutely break that down for you if you would like!
Give me a bit to get it organized and I’ll try to post it soon!
It’s just using key frames and multiple layers to bring the spheres together and then project the face onto a bunch of bunched up spheres .
I’m so glad that you’re interested in it though and I would be glad to!
(This goes for anyone else that reads this) - if you guys want to see me explain more basic functionality or even are having an issue with something that maybe I will know how to troubleshoot - put it in the comments like this guy did!

@@ryankelly9657 Thanks for your content. I never seen any other channel on YT simillar to yours. Cuz that are not "ordinary tips" with hidden functions. Thats doing something crazy just comining few "simple" actions hah. And dont worry, I think it was that was best possible try of explanatory for such a complicated combination hah

Heya again - I just wanted to let you know, since you asked. This video is up ruclips.net/video/i9t1_6EQHuw/видео.htmlsi=gzU0OdfhRW5ut09B
I tried to tag you underneath in Irma comments but I am unsure if it worked, so apologies if it notified you twice! - hopefully this is helpful though!

Cool tip but not sure what situation I would use this in... Why is this different to the usual way of duplicating the detailed shoulder pad and scale down zremesh>project like usual?

    • @ryankelly9657
      @ryankelly9657  Год назад

Because it is not the same shape, the shoulder pads are different shapes (very slightly) -- projecting the detail onto a different shape is a pain, even if the difference is slight, - and in this case you cannot alter the shape of the shoulder pad "at all" for this model -- it "must" bake onto that default shape because I'm sculpting detail onto a mesh to bake new normals onto it for tennogen / warframe.
This method allows a change of shape while reserving some of the detail (if you see the face morph at the end, you will see that even when the spheres are split apart, in one of the layers for a moment you can see her face in all of the split spheres.

But I totally understand your question, and I was worried to be honest that some people would ask this. But basically, the situation is if you find yourself in a work environment for a game studio where you need to bake new normals onto something but it has already been implemented and rigged, and the shape needs to stay the same. It's just a way to get detail from one shape to another, and the difference can be more extreme than this (IE: the body on the thumbnail is a lot different in it's overall silhouette)..
Obviously it won't look right if you projected it onto a flat box or something, but you could if you wanted to using this method. I hope this clarifies a bit more!
