  • In todays video I take you inside an incredible abandoned mansion built in 1904. This place has everything left behind like walking into a time capsule. It looks like at one point someone turned this home into a bed and breakfast as well.

When in High School, decades ago, one of my friends lived down the road from an abandoned house, even the toothbrushes remained. Being kids, we went in a few times and explored, found things like an old newspaper announcing the start of WW1 in a trunk upstairs. It had obviously been abandoned for a long time. It makes you wonder what reasons could cause such a thing.

Most Bed & Breakfast's are decadent. This looks like the home of an aging couple who moved a few beds downstairs so they didn't have to climb the stairs. The room off the kitchen is probably the formal dining room and that massive wooden structure is the china cabinet and linen storage which was an integral part of a home's designed at the turn of the last century.

The feel of an old house is so different than modern ones. More wood, brick, plaster etc.Too many modern houses have cement floors under the wood veneers. True the floor won't rot or creak, but you have horrible ammounts of work to do if pipes bust or leak under cement and you don't know till mold etc happens. With crawl spaces and attics, you can at least look for and identify problems hopefully before it's too late!

Didn’t Forest Gump’s mom have a house like this with boarders? 😂 Someone may have described this house to the creator as a B&B, but it was more of a boarding house for some aging people. The notes remind me of something my southern grandma would write. Regardless it is still a beauty!

As well as new roof $$$$ and wood appears to be rotted in the exterior. Being familiar with these deals one should have about $250,000 in cash to do repairs AFTER buying the house. The side lights around front door...they looked etched but couldn't tell.
    Doors and door hardware.
    Fireplace surrounds and fireplace tile
    Ceilings/ crown moulding/ medallions etc..
    Antique furniture.
    Built-in features
    Newel posts in staircase
    Transom.
    Windows.
    Porch features.
The pantry area is called a butler's pantry and this one is a fine example. They were always located next to the kitchen and usually connecting directly to the dining room.
That back stairway was for servants..they usually lived on the third floor.
We didn't see the third floor.
If you did some research about Victorian homes, their architectural features, embellishments, cornices, plaster work, woodwork, floors...your experience will be enhanced as you will understand and/or notice what makes these homes so special.

Thanks Big Bankz! After seeing those ancient single-wrapped processed American cheese, I know why my 93 year old Momzie has lived sooo long bc she munches down on that preservative supposed cheese! Too funny, too true!!!🤘🇺🇲

Some people get "pickled" with alcohol and age like whiskey if they're lucky. Jack Von G'on was one. Can't spell out his whole name may get in hot water!

The home I grew up in had a claw foot tub. I appreciate it now but at the time I was like "All the other kids have showers"

I would say it was built just before the turn of the century by the features in the home and you can bet there is hardwood floors under the carpet upstairs, I would also bet one of the parents probably the mom was the last one to live there and went into a nursing home before she died and the children have kept the grass somewhat cut and basic power on, it was more than likely left to be either equally divided among them or no will at all, so they are just waiting to out live one another to inherit it, I see this happen in rural areas, the last kid alive inherits it before they die and their kids immediately sell it to an individual or developer. I hope someone decides to restore it before it's too late.

The pantry room might be a butler's pantry. The wood throughout looks like oak. Love that "crazy" front door, the huge fireplace, and the stairway. Probably no king beds because they're not vintage.

very cool beautiful house, and explore, it looks like someone is keeping up the grounds though and mowing it. Yes be careful while exploring :) Also 6'7?! A giant :)

looks more like an adult foster care home( AFC) than a bed and breakfast- not much decorating and a lot of twin beds….

Yes, it does look like an adult care facility with community sleeping rooms.

Can’t be adult care because of the stairs. Doesn’t look like a bed and breakfast either.

I been to this abandoned area before, I should of recorded the journey but never did unfortunately. Come to South Texas and West Texas, there are a bunch of huge places to explore.

Awesome video. I am in the process of finding abandoned houses in my area. Very complicated stuff. I like this hobby a lot. Very dangerous though. But so far, no homeless or thugs during my visits. Maybe cause I go mid afternoon usually. Keep it up and be careful. :)

Sadly they don't make houses like this anymore. That front door is amazing and I like the pocket doors and fireplaces.

Pretty sure that is mold growth on the white wall behind you. You should wear a facemask when you are around mold. Make yourself safe. There is Mold Killer paint. Good luck.
