Hey Learson. Kudos re: your excellent original track. Catchy, top-notch vocals, and perfect production! Thanks for doing a very helpful & eye-opening demo of the JX-8P!

People only look at the knobs and sliders rather than the pure sound performance, so they consider more Juno 106 than JX8P or Juno Alpha 1 and 2. Sonically JX8P and Alpha 1/2 are way more powerful and rich than Juno106. Furthermore now we can get ipad softwares to replace the unobtainable PG800. Adamski A. In a world of mono-synths the JX is a rare beautiful gem. It’s so hard to understand the architecture without a controller. I probably would have sold it if I didn’t find out about the app...
Adamski A. Yeah. The osc sync is really important I think to get the most out of the synths width. And along with the chorus and some reverb it actually gets very huge.
The membrane keys are really high quality ones though, switches still work well almost 40 years later, and no cracking of the surface of the switch, unlike cheap membrane switches.
Both the Juno and JX series are built with digitally-controlled analog oscillators. There, the similarity ends. The JX and Alpha Juno models have much more sluggish envelopes. Vincent Stevens you can tell how excited I am about the synth by the height of my hair
Haha, full on 80s pomp you got there. Thanks for the video, I'm still deciding between JX-8P and JX-3P
Vincent Stevens 8P all the way. 3P is a big step down
Learson Peak I was told they are very different though. JX-3P has a more Juno series sound to it and that it's more raw than JX-8P. Also that JX-3P sounds more like the years it was made and used, late 70s and early 80s while JX-8P is more mid to late 80s. Which makes me wanting to get both really.
Vincent Stevens It might sound more like a Juno... until a Juno shows up! The 3p is a little punchier and has a sequencer. The 8P’s pads are lush with a smoother purring kind of sound sound. They are very similar. I guess it depends what you’re looking for in you sonic synth pallet.
Nice sounds but no bass in your track.
0:50 Dude clean your gear :(
She do you get these for $200-$300? More like $1000 now
I must disagree about the presets. I own this synth and presets are ok. New presets also more than welcomed.
Nathan Furman I should’ve been more precise in the video. Actually the JX presets are rather good. My favorite part about analog synths is you can make your own
