I bought one of these last year and I have to say it's one of the best guitars I've played. It did take a little getting used to with a strap but that's cos I've been a Strat guy for 40 years! It sounds amazing. I've been playing long enough now not to worry about whats on the headstock anymore! There are always people who will slate things because of the brand but Harley Benton make some great gear. Enjoy it man :-)

When I got my Harley Benton te-70, I had that same look on my face. I couldn't believe the quality for how cheap it was. I personally think these guitars are just as good as a Squire(and squires are hit or miss, sometimes you get a bad one).I have for Harley Benton's and have not got one bad one it felt like it was set up from the factory.

I have the JA-60 lefty. It’s a jazz master like guitar and it’s phenomenal. It’s not a great guitar for the price... it’s a great guitar period. Fit and finish is great, sounds great. Stays in tune etc. I have no plans to change anything on the instrument. I’ve played for thirty years and I have played them all. It’s difficult for folks to look down their nose at your guitar when you are melting their face off.... rock on.

I bought one in 2017. Wilkinson pickups.
    My Grovers are non-locking.
Needed No work out of the box, just a little setting up.
Mine is not light though - 4.0kg
I moved the strap button forward along the horn for better balance, not perfect but better ...
    I'm well happy with mine.

I ordered a SC-550 and a case as well from Thomann and I thought I should email them and have them put the guitar in the case and then box it up, but thought, nah, I shouldn't have to tell them.....and sure enough I received a huge box, with the guitar in a box and the case in a box, both in the larger box..I guess I should have suggested it. But am very happy with my purchase!

The Harley's are great guitars for the price. Love mine. Matches quality of guitars 3 times their price..but...If you get a sub-par one (which seems to have increased in lockdown) the great return policy is negated by the hassle of sending back across the Atlantic.

I think that we are in a transition in many aspects. Original manufactures have priced themselves out of most folks range. That is a great sounding, and I imaging playing guitar. This may sound unrelated, but I needed a new motor for my lap saw. I bought a Predator Chinese rip off of a Honda. I can buy 5 of these for one Honda. It starts on the first pull, is balanced and quiet. I feel that it is better built than the Honda. Yea, a Bob sang, the times, they are a-changing.

Harley Benton early adopters will have the last laugh! I have two: a fretless JB copy that I wouldn't part with for a bass five times the price (yep it is that good), and a Fusion Pro 2, again a fabulous player and with stainless steel frets (well executed fretwork at that). Only thing I'd change are the pups (and only because I'm a guitar geek always searching for that perfect tone- HaHa). Good vid, thank you Rich. (Oh, and if you think you have problems with your surname, take a look at mine - then imagine what my nicknames at school might have been!)

It's not a Gibson knockoff guitar as stated at 1.08. If it was it would have a Gibson logo on it. This is inspired by the SG shape and they are hardly the first guitar company to do that.

The whole guitar is mahogany. It couldnt be better. I have one exactly like yours and mine plays perfectly. It has a small amount of neck dive but it dont bother me. I bought some different pick ups for it but it really was not necessary. I have not put them in yet. I bought a SEYMOUR DUNCAN SH-4 JB HUMBUCKER for the bridge and a Gibson humbucker from SG used for Neck I need to put those in for a darker tone LOL. My action is super low plays like butter. Too bad I cannot play as good as the guitar is good. Its a beautiful guitar for sure. It has lots of sustain too the frets feel smooth the guitar is freakin awesome. I bought mine used and someone set it up really nice. But it may have been that good outta the box. I would recommend but I dont want everyone to have the same guitar as me. Oh I also replaced the knob with real Gibson black speed knobs so it looks right. I didn't want Telecaster knobs on it.

Was gonna get that one but went for the SC Custom (single cut) instead. I love it although it IS heavy, but has coil splitting so I preferred it over the DC custom (SG style). Then I got their cheapest HSS strat style in candy apple red and it's so comfortable and really has the strat tones you would expect, love it too. Now and then I pick up the SC for variety. Next I'm going for one of their Tele styles.

The downside with HB was always the hardware and usually needed a set up. However if that's got Grovers and I didn't hear any dead frets, it seems they have upped their game yet again. I have an SC450 LP style from them which needed a bit of work, but it rocks now. Wished I liked the SG style sounds great.

We review a lot of Harley Benton guitars 🎸 on our channel, and truly even a $56 classical guitar will make you have that same experience. We pay for all of the guitars we review so I sometimes get B stocks and I have yet to have any issues aside from a broken 3 way switch and the one just like this one had rusty strings, but they were rusty D'dario strings. I have purchased a few of their cheaper strat copies ($75-$150) and none have disappointed us. These guitars are gigable.

You were lucky. I've ordered 4 Harley Bentons in the last year. Three of them came damaged. 7 string had a damaged head stock (R-457 BK Progessive Series). 8 string had the pickups knocked out of it and the mounting holes stripped out (R-458MN WH Progessive Series). 6 string strat (ST-20 HSS SBK Standard Series) has a gouge in the pickguard (very noticeable from a distance even). But my 6 string with a floyde rose tremolo (S-620 TR Rock Series) was undamaged. I would say I have bad luck but I think it's really just bad mail service in the US. I don't think this is happening at customs. I think USPS just sucks that bad. I bet they get to the US in fine shape but by the time they get to Indianapolis they are damaged. Just my theory anyway. USPS destroys everything here.

I have a first model lefty ( thomann and hb are killing it for us leftys) SC custom vintage black and it is one of the best guitars I've ever bought and I think it was less than £150 uk. Is it as good as my 80s les Paul? No it isn't but that is a gorgeous guitar that is sublime to play but and it's a big but it's not £5-6k better! I've giggled the sc custom on numerous occasions and it does the job! My next HB will definitely be the TE-52 tele copy just because of the specs of wood you get at the price point ( and I've got a set of fender pickups that need a home). Hopefully it's as good as my sc custom!

Hi, is easy to reach the higher frets in this guitar compared to a classic Gibson or Epiphone Sg? It seems that in this harley benton model the final part of the neck is a little bit more "set" inside the body, if you know what I mean. I ask for this because I would like to use this guitar also for slide, and I need to have a comfortable access to the higher frets also with the slide. Thanks so much!

I've got 2 Harley's (TE-52 & SC-450 GT P90) and dig 'em. Sure they need setup to my liking but hard to go wrong. I got them last year with 2 cases for a hair over $400. Been playing the SC almost daily. That DC Custom reports to be mahogany body and neck, doesn't state the grovers are locking though, confirm?? Oh, the reinforcement on the neck at the headstock is called a volute. Thanks for the vid, man!

I love the specs/price of Harley Benton guitars. Still waiting for my Harley Benton SC Custom Active WH to arrive, it has pretty much the same specs with the DC Custom other than the body and neck wood is different and active pickups. Just wanted to experience active pickups for the first time. 15 years ago when i first started playing guitar, we didn't really have nice guitars for that kind of price range. And a cheap guitar that has cheap tuners can really get a beginner frustrated. I wish we had today's Harley Benton earlier. And you sir are an amazing guitarist! You deserve 100x more subscriptions than you already have. I'll make sure to share your channel around the internet to get you more viewers which is what you definitely deserve! Keep up the good work man!

Was the guitar bought from the website with your money or did they send it to you for free? Nobody in these videos ever states this. It’s important to know. If they knew they were sending it to you to make a video etc and you didn’t pay for it then it will have been cherry picked and checked and double checked before being sent. They would make sure it is the absolute best it can be. This is obviously different from a regular order off the website.
