A joy to hear. Kudos to the entire group, but I would like to particularly commend the pianist. His deliberative tempo (credit to the conductor for this choice) allowed for a contemplative approach I don't always hear. I particularly enjoyed the magnificent voicing of all chords in the piano part. There was just a weight to each and every note, all rendered as equally important that struck these ears as genuine and original. Mr. Pittella exhibits a splendid feeling for Beethoven's every compositional genius, which makes this interpretation in a class all its own. Of course the soloists, chorus, orchestra and conductor were marvelous each in their own right. Chapeau to the entire ensemble! A delight to hear!
Jammer van die vaste camera , die geen detail beelden geeft van koor pianist, orkest en solisten . Ik zong deze Fantasía coral jaren geleden ( 2014??) in een klein dorp in Cataluña olv. Argentijnse dirigente Gabriela Zabala met Víctor Braojos als jonge virtuose pianist ,die heel zijn partij zónder partituur speelde. Een geweldige ervaring.
Dieses Stück habe ich am Ende der 1980er Jahre im Orchester mitgespielt, ich spielte damals in einem kleinen Theater. das es heute nicht mehr gibt. Solistin war die Pianistin Alexandra Oehler, die damals noch so jung war, dass sie noch zur Schule ging. Vielleicht 15, 16, 17 oder 18 Jahre alt. Neulich, vor Weihnachten, habe ich sie wieder im Radio gehört. Sie ist heute noch Pianistin.Der Chor sang einen Text des DDR- Dichters Johannes R. Becher, den ich überhaupt nicht mochte und auch heute nicht mag. Ich mag den Dichter und seine Sachen nicht. und der Text ist auch zu pathetisch und handelte vom Guten, Wahren, Schönen und einem hohen Ziel. Ich weiß nicht, welcher Text original ist. Das würde mich auch interessieren.

En general bien, un poquitito lento: es una obra para dos o tres minutos menos. Es un detalle menor. El detalle mayor es una sola cámara fija y para colmo mal ubicada. Imposible reconocer rostros e instrumentos. Resultan todos anónimos. Sin zoom, sin primeros planos... Para oir si ver. Lástima...

Hier in der Aufnahme ist der Text schwer zu verstehen. Wie oft bei gesungenen Texten.
I agree with William Simonds. 1 Camera just doesn't work. NO close up of the solists, choir and orchestra. Don't need a close up of the Conductor.
