Loving the videos Justin. So informative and you have a fantastic way of explaining things in a way that anyone can understand and learn from. Don’t stop!
Refreshingly simple and effective...Finally a "studio tour" that doesn't spend 5 minutes talking about what coffee maker is the best...And I couldn't agree more: it all comes down to the source...
Thank you for these! Been binge watching all your vids and really enjoying them. Please continue and keep them coming! Glad to see you're another ODRC user.
@Justin Ostrander awesome! I actually was Kais first demo for them. I have serial #1 of all of the variations hes made. Great dude and great pedals. I think the new white one sounds best. The 30th Anniversary one
I had a Supra just like yours that I lent to my brother that mysteriously disappeared after he played bottleneck on a old resonator guitar through it , too cool
I also use a PR30 quite a bit on guitar amps; either that or the PR35. I've noticed by wearing headphones and speaking into and around the PR30 that the leakage is different at 90 degrees of on-axis. This is particular useful knowledge when using it on a snare and minimizing leakage from the hi-hat but I think you might notice a difference when minimizing reflections in your garage. My findings are that the area with the badge and opposite the badge have the most leakage. It may be a small variation but it's a game of inches at your level.
I gotta tell you, I've had SO MANY specimens of the ODR-1 from multiple vintage greenies to a couple silvers to the mini pedal reissue, and this is my favorite by a country mile. You can quote me on that!
D’Addario strings? Yea them are really great strings as I’ve recently discovered. But have u heard about StringJoy strings? They’re based out of Nashville. They make great strings and their custom options are literally endless and their web interface is second to none
Very cool rig! I use an old Dm2 and a Pog2 as well. I actually use the pog as chorus with the detune funtion, and the first preset on the pog is just as a boost. I also use the sonic research tuner and the Nordland CC+ mini. Sorry to list my pedals, it's just validates my ear that you like those pedals too lol!
Dude, the Ryobi charger in your garage and the Mike Campbell drop - pure gold. We are best friends. Let's grab a cup of coffee (if you ever come to Michigan). Did you build your playing desk yourself?
I think so. I don't have any experience with the Vertex. I just asked for a very small clean boost pedal that I can use like a volume pedal with expression control so I could only have one expression pedal on the board. I know the XTS guys did not copy the Vertex design, but I'm not sure how they are different.
Justin, how are you using multi pedals controlling one volume pedal? Most of my delays have one expression out plug. Trying to understand how you routed it. Thanks for your videos! Enjoy your approach to things. I am always learning.
Check out the video I did on that video “I use this pedalboard for sessions” or something like that. I go through all the routing and play through my favorite sounds I get out of it. That expression pedal is routed to both Strymon pedals and the XTS boost.
Hey Justin. Is the Tone Preserver plugged into your furman? Or right into the wall? And you use a power strip off of it for the 3 amps? I just got one. Thanks!
It is plugged into the Furman. Basically the whole studio fires up when I turn the Furman on. And then I have four amps or so plugged into a power strip into the back of the Tone Preserver. Nashville Electric runs very hot, and I don't need my old amps to see 125V.
I watched a RR with a guy playing an Orange amp and another amp with a “mini” rotating horn in it…. No mention of his name anywhere. Any idea who that guitarist is ????
I picked up the Meris Mercury 7 the other day. That plate is really good. Thanks for turning me on to that one. Any man can play a vintage tele but it takes a real man to play a titty pink bass. Just sayin'...Lol
So underrated and under-appreciated. Thanks a ton.

NICE! Picked up some pointers that might work in my little home studio
I’m moving my pedalboard to under my desk today. Can’t believe I never thought of that!

Sold all my old ones when I got a couple Nordlands.

love your videos, could you make one on your hx effects sounds and settings? Best Regards

Great rig! Thank you for doing this!
Yowza-yowza-yowza. Thanks for the rundown
Nice rundown
Loved this video man!
I love the Mass Street Music sticker. Those guys are great. Always try to swing by the shop when visiting family in KC. Thanks Justin.
Ditto on the Mass Street sticker. I only live about an hour and a half from Lawrence, so I drop in pretty regularly.

Is your garage conditioned? I’ve wanted to set up a proper guitar tool area out there but it gets so hot and cold depending on the season.
Have 65 Harmony and 39 Slingerland archtops I need to give some love to.
Thanks for sharing. Great video.
Very nice

Ha. I've built a few pieces of furniture in my house, but my studio desk is a Spatial.
YES! First view and comment. Love your channel Justin. So thet XTS boost works the same way as the Vertex boost?
I think so. I don't have any experience with the Vertex. @@JustinOstrander Sounds good. I'll be checking that out thx
Have you tried the Tonex? I was impressed by how it sounded so good.
Cool channel man!!
Thank you for sharing. Surprised the 335 didn't make the top 4!
It's too big to fit in the double gig bag! Haha. I often take it as well. Too great of a guitar to leave at home.
Amazing video! Just wondering if you are still using the two notes torpedo? Or more ox? Thanks so much!
Not as much. I now have options for cab modeling. I still dig it though
@@JustinOstrander I really appreciate you getting back to me. If you don’t mind, I would like to know which reactive load box you would recommend?

Awesome channel. Have you ever tried the Scuffham S gear plugin? It is the most realistic sounding one I have heard.
Thank you! I haven't, but I'll check it out
Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you Justin! That sure enough makes sense!
How do you set the line in level on the Apollo when using the chandler pre?
Simple and effective setup!
I find the edge of where it wants to clip and then back it off another 20%. Not too scientific!
Cool video Justin! Just curious if you've thought about using the Captor X?
Ive been hoping to see this video for awhile too. Awesome sauce.
Oh, what bit rate/sample rate do you record use?
My default is 24/48 unless otherwise requested.

@@JustinOstrander thank you! My house is constantly at 123. Definitely gonna use the TP from now on.
Thanks Justin! Curious how you are bypassing the Apollo preamp when using the Chandler?
I don't bypass it at all; I just make sure it's not clipping.
Can you show your other (smaller) board that you take to sessions? Does it have the HX effects on it?
It does, currently. I'm getting ready to redo that board. I will post a video about it afterward!
I watched a RR with a guy playing an Orange amp and another amp with a “mini” rotating horn in it…. No mention of his name anywhere. Any idea who that guitarist is ????
nope!
Who makes that cool little ac15?
I found it on eBay. Not even sure what the account is that was selling it
Wtf, I’ve been using instrument cable to connect my cabs, didn’t know there was different cable fack!!
@justin all your base time fx are going in to the front of the amp?
Yep
@@JustinOstranderyou sold your vintage ODR-1?
