This question is disrespectful. Kobe matched Shaq statistically in the 2000-2001 season, what year did Pippen match Jordan?
What a low IQ Kobetard take, nothing but lies. Shaq was their best player that 2000-01 season, their offense ran through him, not Kobe. Shaq was their best player in the 1st round against Portland, he put up 27 ppg to Kobe's 25 ppg while being the main player getting double teamed by Wallace and Sabonis. In the second round against the Kings, Kobe put up 35 ppg/9 rebs/4.3 apg on 47% fg%, Shaq put up 33.3 ppg/17 rpg/3.3 bpg on 60% fg%, hmmmm I think I would rather take Shaq's monstrous and more impactful numbers in that series too. Not saying that Kobe didn't play great, but Shaq's numbers overall were more impressive and dominant. Then in the WCFs, Kobe played the best in that round against the Spurs, no doubt. Then in the Finals, which you Kobetards never mention lol, Shaq clearly outplayed everyone. Kobe was having a hard time penetrating against the 76ers defense. So all in all, Kobe only outplayed Shaq in 1/4 playoff rounds. You Kobetards will make up any lie to push your Kobe GOAT narratives. I also don't understand how you can think Kobe was better than Shaq during the 2000-01 season when Shaq averaged slightly more ppg on way better FG% and was clearly more impactful because the team ran around his low post dominance, how do you make that insane claim?
It's really what do you value more. It's close pippens personality lent itself better for the role, but Kobe played it better. Kobe probably wouldn't have got surgery right b4 the season, or sat out a game 7 in the ecf over a headache, but he's not going to give you 10 years as #2 either.

The 2006 Heat roster was better and by the time 2008 came around Pau was better than Shaq. You can’t just assume he makes the finals with Shaq who’s an inferior player to Pau
I love this debate because people keep saying how Pippen the better second option which mean Kobe was actually 1B when teaming with Shaq instead of the second best player lol
Kobe is obviously better all time but Pippen was a better teammate and 2nd option. He understood that MJ was better than him and accepted his role. Kobe, even after playing horrible in the 04 finals, thought that he should be the man and forced the FO to trade Shaq
You really think MJ and Kobe would coexist on the same team? Kobe couldn't get along with Shaq and Shaq was a fun loving guy that everybody loved. I actually think Shaq an Scottie win 4-5 in a row. Scottie wouldn't of shot the team out of the 04 finals like Kobe did.
A lot of people are using their feelings to argue their point instead of listening to the question. No one is debating whether Kobe was a better player that pippen because we know Kobe was better and I couldn’t stand Kobe as a player. But as a second option pippen was better because he knew he was the second option and accepted it. Kobe viewed himself as the first option so it was difficult for him to accept.
Maybe because Pippen was that a second option Kobe knew he was more than that. And yes his feud with Shaq cost the team but in the end he won more than Shaq with less help and had a better career so what are we talking about
bean won 2 without shaq, Pippen couldn’t do nothing without MJ on bulls nkr Houston nor Portland. Pippen 4 40pt games with Jordan zero 50 point games.

@Evan H you're not taking the human element into account. All this talk on the video of, "Well, if they hadn't split up..." - a huge reason why they split up was because Kobe wanted to be the guy. He always viewed himself as the number 1 option, even when he clearly wasn't. In his early years, he was constantly forcing it, which led to some great highlights because he was so talented, but also led to a lot of turnovers and bad shots that were sooooooo unnecessary because you COULD just dump the ball down into the most physically dominant player in the game. But instead, you force it because you want to show off your talent. Pippen always knew his role and was arguably the best 2nd banana of all time.
@Francisco Pizarro what you're saying makes sense on paper, but basketball isn't played on paper. If you want to say the playoffs version of '01 Kobe or the '02 Finals version of Kobe was a better #2 than any version of Scottie as a #2, I'd agree with that. But Scottie was a #2 for 6 championships; Kobe couldn't stomach being a #2 for that long. I'll take Pip being the ultimate #2 for 6 rings over Kobe begrudgingly being an inconsistent #2 in '00, but a great #2 in the playoffs in '01 & '02 for 2 more rings. However, we can't say it doesn't matter why they split up seeing as how it was because Kobe didn't want to be #2, and because of that it imploded for a humiliating loss in '04 to the heavily underdog Pistons.
Scottie clears kobe as a 2nd option he's literally 6-0 as a second option. Scottie never proved himself as a 1st option. Kobe was always a first option forced to play with another 1st option

This question is disrespectful. Kobe matched Shaq statistically in the 2000-2001 season, what year did Pippen match Jordan?
All Facts

@@Nootz10 It doesn’t matter why they split up. Who was the better player as the 2nd option and that’s easily Kobe

Right and Kobe put the effort on defense same as Pippen did. As far as a big man well in Chicago u had the dominant two guard that open the game for Pippen and everyone else like a Paxson and Kerr. So why was Pippen average on offense since Jordan was doubled and tripled teamed some nights?
The problem everyone thinks its fantasy & NBA2k” It’s not about stats 🤦🏽♂️ Pippen wasn’t playing for stats” neither was JORDAN! They play within the offense” MJ was the go to guy on offense” But he not a big man that control the paint, which is a big different” It showed when Kobe starting winning when GASOL & Bynum arrive” If Kobe was MJ or even play close to what Pippen was on defense” He would won without a big man” The reason for super teams “ Is. the Lack of big men playing in the post” Look at the bubble gum ship” It was a big man who dominated” That made it easier for the wing player that’s older to dominate to” Duncan was old when he beat the heat with a young player and the rest was small & old” It’s a big man game” Even Giannis prove that” 🤷🏽♂️
Kobe has more all defensive teams…..
PEOPLE LOVE LIVING IN THE COMPUTER! THE HUMAN DONT UNDERSTAND WHY DONT USE STAT(S FANTASY) OR AWARDS(NBA2K) TO PROVE VALUE!! PIPPEN HAVE MORE CAREER STEALS , BLOCK & RDS THEN KOBE IN LESS YRS! HIS DEFENSE SKILLS SET SHOW 👀 THAT! PIPPEN ALSO HAD 100 BLS IN SEASON & LLED THE LEAGUE IN STEALS” TWO PLAYERS CONSIDER BETTER THEN HIM” WHO NEEDED PLAYERS TO WIN 🏆 NEVER DID THAT” BUT THE ERA OF FAN OF MEN WOULDNT PAID ATTENTION TO THAT! 😂
@@mikiec6894 You said “it’s not about stats” the proceed to use stats ☠️
You contradicted yourself, making your argument invalid.
Chill need to chill lol 😂 Get over it quit trying to discredit Kobe to make Lebron look better. Lol it ridiculous. I like Lebron but we all know its about statistics with him. Stat padding Kobe played broke fingers, knee shoulder no game management to secure stats. The NBA is soft now. And people who know nothing about basketball disrespecting a Top 5 player of all time! Who else scored 81 under 7'0 lol "shooting guard"
Scottie must have smashed sombody’s chick on this podcast. Y’all stay with the disrespect for Pip.
Calling Pippen a second option is not disrespect fella it's reality. The problem is u tryna put Pippen on this superstar pedestal level and he's not fella. Pippen was an Allstar fringe star player nothing more nothing less. Pippen is ranked exactly where he's supposed to be fella. Nice try fella lol
@@g24deez nice try “fella”. Not once did I say he was a Superstar “fella”. Just noticing that any time Pippen is discussed on this podcast, it is mad disrespectful. Acting as if he was barely in the league when he was a perennial all star and first team all league defender. Interesting that they didn’t bring up the times Kobe didn’t make it to the finals without a top 5 big. Yes he went to three finals without Shaq. He also missed the playoffs 4 times in his career “fella”. Pip led the Bulls in most statistical categories when he played with MJ. He filled up the stat sheet without being a volume shooter and primary scorer. He was a better second option. Mainly because Kobe came in trying to be the guy when he had Shaq in his prime. Pip knew his role and executed it to perfection. To the tune of 6 titles in 2 separate 3 peats. It’s ok “fella”. We all know Kobe was a better player.
@@jamiecousins254 fella of course u didn't outright call him a superstar but to say someone disrespect Pippen game is disillusioned fella. Again like I said if u wasn't tryna put Pippen on this superstar pedestal level then u wouldn't be Delusional to think someone disrespect Pippen game fella. Nice try though fella lol
@@jamiecousins254 well actually Pippen first 2 seasons in the league he was barely in the league fella. Pippen rookie year he didn't start not one game and the Bulls went 50-32 3rd seed all this with Pippen coming off the bench averaging 7.9 ppg and he wasn't even the 6th man fella so yep Pippen were barely in the league early In his career hence the bad contract Pippen signed that hunted him until he finally got his big payday fella lol. Go study up fella because when u REACH I TEACH fella lol
@@jamiecousins254 Gary Payton, Chris Paul were perennial Allstars and 1st team all nba defenders do u have the same fake outrage for them too fella?
Can’t have Kobe as a better second option when he was only the second option for 1 year😂😂😂
Damn, beat me to it.
Depends how you define “option.” Shaq was the better player from 2000-2002 and in 2004
He was the 2nd option during the entire 3peat
