    Quick comment - these instructions are great - EXCEPT that you only need to trim about 1/4"-1/3" of the plastic casing on either side of the solder points. You do NOT need to trim the massive amount he demonstrates. If you look when he is actually attaching the connectors, you can see he has removed much less of the plastic casing than he demonstrates earlier in the video. I did this and ended up with the plastic casing perfectly flush against the connector.

      @teleplusdeluxe 3 года назад +3

      This is 100% accurate. I trimmed the amount he did initially and it made making the connection much more loose and constantly had to manipulate the cut end to make the connection. If you trim a shorter cut of the plastic casing it fits much more snug and the solder points have less room to move once the connector is closed, making a more solid connection to the pins.

      im at the same point with the gradient ambience strips since they have a defuser cover over the lines they put a gray line on the back to where u can cut and so i did and theres no contact points at those ends and from ive seen others do is soldering wires to those ends to reconnect them which is something i dont want to do but one guy used cat64 cabling to do this in another video

      b p it’s so you don’t screw up the actual light strip, without this type of video instruction it would be impossible for hue to instruct their customers on how to go about this, and they don’t want you to just cut a part of the actual light strip and screw the entire thing up

    Thank you very much for this video. I am wondering if it is possible to get in contact with you for some help regarding the phillips hue v4 or if it is possible to make a video on "cut-end connector" for the v4 as I am struggling to figure it out when trying to incorporate it into my set up.
    Thanks in advance and thanks again for the video.

    Wait. How do you connect the extension to the cut ends of the Hue Lightstrip? You seemed to have skipped over that part so I can't figure out how each "clip" is connect to one another from what is shown in the video. Where do the pins (males end) of the extension go? Which side is male and which is female, etc.?

    • @litcessorysupport3019
      @litcessorysupport3019  6 лет назад +1

      This video only shows how to connect the Cut-end to cut-end connector; this is to show how to connect two cut Phillips Hue Lightstrip Plus Lightstrip sections. This is completed from beginning to end in this video. This would mean that there really isn't a female or male end, though if you think of it like those terms, then each strip piece would be the male and the connector would be a female to female. Are you requesting a video that shows how to connect an extension cable to a snap connector?

      @@KDR195 I think you gone need a male to male connector and then do some soldering. Thats at least gone be the most cheep solutiong. Or it might be possible use 2 of these connetions and then put a male-male in between... tho these connectors might then cost as much as a 1m extention for hue. I dont know if i can link in the products to webpages for you here... but just search ebay for something like: "WHITE Pin Strip | for Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus | Male 6 Pin "
      Here are 2 videos of how you can do it:
      1: ruclips.net/video/jQEjFyyuVac/видео.html
      2: ruclips.net/video/U-5Mpn9eTd0/видео.html
      I think you gone need a male to male pin that is spesific to phillips hue to be sure that the pins are fitting to hue... so the safe buy is probaly the items you find when specificly searching for male male pins for hue ledstrips. Hope that helps.. i am just in proses of getting the right items to a livingroom project i am working on. So i have not done this my self yet.

      Hello
      Currently our products are specifically designed to work with the Philips Lightstrip Plus V3 product line.
      While we have had customers achieve success with Eve Lightstrips and other non-Hue products, they have not been designed or tested for other brands. If they are still a 6 pin connection, I'd say it's a good chance. However, we can't make any guarantees.
      Please feel free to reach out with any further questions.

    Hopefully this will be the perfect solution for my Gaming Desk setup, I'm currently using IKEA's Hallestad Countertop on top of 2 Alex Drawers from IKEA, I want to raise the counter top 4 - 5 inches using IKEA Capita Legs, after that I wanted to have part of my Phillips Hue Lightstrip which is placed at the back side of my desk connect to a Phillips Hue Extension light strip that will run underneath the countertop desk and just over the Alex Drawers (to give a cool, emanating glow for a futuristic look) and then of course I'll need to cut the 40-inch strip in half (or about half, depending on where the solder points end up) then use about 5 to 6.5 feet of Extension cord (thanks to Litcessory) to run under the desk and to the other side of the desk (opposite end) and have the last half of the Phillips Hue Extension cord light up that Alex Drawer. I will need these Cut-End Connectors as well in order to get it to connect to the Extension cord.
    Sounds a bit complicated but it's not really that complicated. Wish meh luck! I hope it turns out the way I imagine it, if not I'll probably simply need more Extension length cables
    This will be one for the books! @R/Battlestations.
