On paper I feel this is moderately difficult, maybe like grade 6 but when you realise it’s like 158 bpm for best part of 4 minutes it’s the stamina I personally struggle with. Amazes me how Taylor can play 2 hour long shows and finish it off with this without his arms falling off lol. Great cover anyway! Absolutely note for note.
Dude DUDE!! this is so cool! I absolutely love this song and you played it spot on perfect! I'm trying to learn it myself, I'm 17 and only started playing back in October but I love drums and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the amazing playing! You're an inspiriation
Cheers Freya! Thanks for watching. This one is ALL about the single stroke roll, so hit that each day and work it up bit by bit. Here's a little single stroke roll play-along drill for you: ruclips.net/video/WcQsytDUnBs/видео.html
Cant play this. Nowhere near this, yet. The thing i can take with me is efficiency of movement. Small movements on the hi hat. I am on the right track as i naturally started to do this knowing that my swings were coming from a height that was too high. Way to high. The bass drum work on this though is what is going to kill my leg. Getting this down would be a long term thing with lots of practice. I mean lots. I am not 13. I am 52 and started way late in life only drumming for a year now. Had fun watching it.
I've been playing drumset for I think three days now and this was the first song I started learning. I have the song around 120 bpm rn the stamina you need for this song is crazy
@@MikeBarnesDrums thanks mate! Really love your teaching style. Would it be possible to make tutorials about how to learn/play songs on drums charting etc?
i thought this was in the grade books? i mightve gotten it mixed up with rope. anyway, good cover as always and ill learn this soon and shouldnt take too long hopefully
Not in Trinity or Rockschool books. The challenge with this is single stroke roll speed and stamina! That's the thing to work on I'd say. Thanks for watching.

Yes you'll need to be playing for a bit longer than three days to get this down I reckon! Thanks for watching :)
While you play I noticed you were looking at papers, are those sheet music or your own kind of cheat sheet?
This was the sheet music (linked in the description), but I do sometimes use cheat sheets too. Thanks for watching.

Great work man. The smile when you would nail the fills was contagious. Are those drum heads red or is that from the lights draped over the kit?

Good
Because of taylor hawkins passing.. I might start learning this song, doesn’t look very difficult.. fills might be a little
This is all about single stroke roll speed - if you’ve got that happening you’ll be in business here!
Dave 😲😲
What is that double pedal and do you always keep it on your set
Tama Iron Cobra, great pedal - yes it's pretty much always on my set, although (like here) I don't always use it! Cheers!

Maybe retitle as a cover video, not a tutorial video.
Thanks for watching! No.
