- Its been one year we are using Bajaj Chetak and we are giving our user feedback, in this video you will find all negative points as well as positive points of Bajaj Chetak Electric scooter, we have given our honest review of the scooter after the long use watch the video till end to get the real truth about the electric scooter.
I too own a chetak from last 57 days and it has run 2800+kms
Probably newbees who don't know what electric vehicles are and how it gives range,
They complain
It doesn't matter if it's chetak or any other electric vehicle all gives 4 different kinds of ranges depending upon our riding conditions
Like for me
Single on eco mode it has given me 107+kms
Single on highway driven at averagely at speeds of 60-65 I have got range of 75kms
Double driven on eco mode has given me 75kms
Double riding in sports mode has given around 65
That difference from 65kms for 1 charge to 105 kms depends on how you are riding and what weight vehicle is pulling anta
Another thing in coments someone has asked will it pull 3 persons, answer is it will pull but if over all weight increases it effects motor and it will get spoils soon, if you want motor to give long life down the lane start to care it from the day1
For everyone who says it's over prized, YES it is and vehicle is worth each and every penny,
Don't compare this vehicle with all other electric vehicles only on the basis of spec's build quality of chetak and ather is all to gether different,
No other electric vehicle's build quality is good as these 2 (ather and chetak)
Very well explained about how to get good range from any EV. yes rightly said newbies don't know about how to get good range from EV.

1, No only Chetak has metal body in this EV world as of now, but both Ather and Chetak provide very good strong chassis, all others are done keeping light weight in mind, but these 2 provided very good base for vehicle
2. No both ather and chetak both are fixed battery types, which also only few things I dislike
3. 5 years/60 months OR 60kms whichever comes earlier

People who want more range need to understand, it will increase the cost of the vehicle. Range of 150 is necessary only if you travel that much in one day. You can full charge the battery in the night.

Bahot aachi baat hai agar aapke pitaji ne Chetak leneka decide kiya hai to, single fork suspension safe hai kuch nahi hoga hum ek sal se upar se use kar rahe hai koi dikkat nahi aai hai ok.
Mere Wali Chetak Mai Bhi Ye Front Dikki Wala Problem Aya Tha Ek Saal Pehle But Servicing Mai Thik Kar Diya Free Of Cost

Very nice review Sir...I am also owner of Chetak ev since last one year and using it daily , Very nice vehicle basically for city riders ..Company needs to start charging stations on highways and rural areas as it should be easily used anywhere just like petrol vehicles .Actually fuel and maintenance expenses are nil .. highly appreciated ...

@@shaileshwadkar6522 till now i haven't spent anything on Vehicle apart from 325 rs twice so total amount spent on Vehicle is 650 Rs that to for servicing 2 times, apart from that 400-500 on puncture's
Along with that once my charger got damaged later i got a replacement charger from company 1 month later till then i had bought the charger and adapter it had costed me 2400 , now i have spare charger so that doesn't count as expenditure bit still i spent it so have added
Rest nothing , if you try to calculate amount spent on electricity, can't guage it exactly because it is included in household use, can't guess exactly still if you try to calculate it will come inbetween 25-35 Paisa, like if you ride alone within 40KMPH ull get charged at 25 Paisa if you ride in sports mode with double seats occupied ull be charged at 35 Paisa,
Still you need to assume that ull incure 1rs50paisa per km because whatever you save in that 1.15 or 1.25 will be spent on battery in future compareing to ICE engine's

@evguru nice review … you covered almost all points … the only point I don’t agree is the you have checked the range and you got 98km ….but only after raiding 3k km I don’t think there will be any change in range … the range May reduce after 8-10k km run … I am telling this out of my own experience with this bike … I am using this bike for past one year and crossed 7K kms… now I am getting almost 10km range lesser compared 4-5min this before …. May be you should also check after 10k KM run

Just had a very bad experience with KTM showroom just now, while I was purchasing the vehicle I was informed that charger comes under warranty, now my charger is not working, they are denying saying that warranty for charger comes only if charging home unit is installed only,
They had not mentioned it while purchasing, neither was it mentioned in owners manual at that time, why do silly things like this now...?
Does this was explained for any others during purchase..?

As new Battery rate is Around Rs 40k, and each 5 yrs we need to change it is around 670Rs comes even if we don't use it.
It is not necessary to change battery every 5 years, battery life depends on charging cycle so some users battery's will be work for 7 or more years as well

Bought Chetak a week back, Chetak has a flaw with keyless entry, today the vehicle drove for almost more than a kilometer without the keys 🔑 with rider this looks like a great technical flaw and error by chetak engineering team , aay one can intelligently take this vehicle and vanish off to unknown location 📍please think twice to buy chetak without subsidy as well

No, then it doesn't change the mode, try to put stand and then start it again without keys ull know
If Chetak is on and the key is in the range of 1 meter and if other person takes it, then it will run but once the person stops and if he does not have key then chetak will not go ahead at all, and since you as a owner have my chetak app you can check the live location of your chetak and can reach to it, so its not flaw its same with all other keyless vehicles.

very good question, aaj ke din me Ather and Chetak aachi EV hai hai, agar wait kar sakte ho to simple one ka wait karo uski range bahot aachi hai par jab tak hat me nahi aayegi exact feedback nahi de payenge.
Charging over ho jaye to kuch dikkat hai kya ? Means 4 hours ki badale 5 hours ho to ? Aur kya iske like daily chalana compulsory hai kya sir ?
Nahi isme auto cut off system aata hai to charging over nahi hoga aapne 6 ghante bhi rakha to, ekbar battery full hone ke bad power cut ho jayega, aur isko daily chalana compulsory nahi hai.
So its actual price is almost 2.00 lakhs. Very very high. Even though I liked scooter did not book it. Decided to wait for six months or so, will get reasonable price from other brands

@Sachin - Why do u feel its fake? if you have already checked the registration date so it is already one year old right, No crash because we drive carefully, yes seat cover looks as new as it was because the quality of seat is really nice, and as mentioned we used it almost 3500km. our usage is limited and due to lockdown it was very less which we mentioned in the vdo as well.

Dear Sir, *There is only one major problem observed in chetak Electric vehicle. As tires are small, the vehicle slip after braking. There were major injuries.
Tiers size need to be proper development with specifications* No safety provision in chetak tyre wrt heights.
Dangerous issues for running conditions slip issue.

You got 98km range for single charge, tell me what was your speed? In which mode you got 98km range?
Good question, as you can see in vdo, I drove on city road as well as highway so while in city traffic my speed was 30-40 and while on highway my speed was 60-70 and driving was in both modes eco and sport combine depending on roads.

yes bilkul degi, hamari running kam hai kyuki meri wife office aanejane ke liye use karti hai, mere kuch pehchan wale hai jo 1 sal se use kar rahe hai aur unki running 20k km tak hui hai with same performance.

Now a days we saw so many electric scooter is burning for the overheating issues of battery,Is the same issues of heating battery in bajaj chetak Or not.
@Dipti very good question, we know people using bajaj chetak from 2 years so far no chetak has reported any overheating issue because chetak is made with proper R&D and it is fully tried and tested product.
How much load it can carry and how is pillion rider comfort and full load performance n range
Very good question, officially it can carry 200kg of load, we have driven double seat many time so can confirm that pillion comfort is good, with pillion performance is also upto the mark nothing to worry about, range may go down by 5-10 km depending on driving style and road conditions with pillion.

Yes bilkul chal sakta hai, humne range test pe vdo banaya hai check kijiye channel pe.

Service maintenance can be done at any Bajaj Service center? And also what after warranty period is over because local mechanic can't repair electric vehicles
Service or maintenance is done at KTM service centers at this moment. and after warranty also you can do it at KTM service center it is not costly.

Yes it is comfortable no issues.

@@arunkainthla1144 Hi, so we have tried to gather info as much as we can and we could not get proper technical details from anyone, however we have done hill climbs and gathered information from the Chetak and other EV users so EV can ride up to 40-45 degree without any issue. hope you got your answer which you have been seeking from long time.

@nandan, very well said, but the main concern is Range other EV coming with higher range and people want range and fast charging these 2 are missing in Chetak or else overall Chetak is defiantly a good EV scooter.

In your 1st range test it showed 94 km for full charge but now it shows only 81 km for full charge ?? Why is it like that ??

@Ramini - once we make full charge and start the scooter the range shown in display is not exact range, once you start driving the range will change that's why it showed only 81 on full charge but in reality it gave 98 in that full charge. i think its a bug in the system that range is not shown exact range.
Charging in a week totally depends on how much are we using in our case now the chetak is used by my wife to go office and come back daily running is around 7-8 km so we charge only once a week only on Sunday.

Good question, apartment konse bhi floor pe ho par unchi building me har flat ka meter ground floor me hota hai to bas aapko aapke meter se cable connect karke charging point banake lena hai aapki parking me electrician ko bulake aur apka kam ho jayega.

Ok, 0 to 100% charge hone me 5 ghante lagte hai aur iske liye sirf 2 unit jalte hai, unit ki price har jagaha alag alag hai, hamare yaha 8-10 rs per unit hai so hame full charge karneko 20 rs lagte hai jisme gadi 90-95 km aaramse jati hai.

At this moment battery price is 45000 rs but after 3-4 years price will be less we hope it might be 20-25000 rs.
1 more negative point, it must have removable battery for charge saperatly. U should mention this too.
Dear EV Guru. As you have accepted in your video that the battery has not noticably deteriorated over the past year. You have mentioned lack of fast charging as a negative point. You cannot get both. If Bajaj introduced fast charging, for sure the battery will deteriorate faster. In my view, it is better not to have fast charging. This will increase the battery life. Please re consider stating lack of fast charging as a negative.
Hi, yes defiantly battery has not deteriorated till now, we understand that fast charging might reduce battery life however nowadays people want fast charging that's the reason we addressed that as a negative aspect in Chetak, but sure in our next vdos we will clarify this point about fast charging impact on battery life.

Sir... My vehicle is just 2 months old but it is realistically giving me only around 75 km range .. in your video also after fully charged it is showing only 80km range though it ran for 98km......
Yes the range shown on display is not acurate but as stated in vdo it was a full day test and we got 98, range depends on driving style road conditions etc we normaly drive in eco only
I too own a chetak from last 57 days and it has run 2800+kms
It doesn't matter if it's chetak or any other electric vehicle all gives 4 different kinds of ranges depending upon our riding conditions
Like for me
Single on eco mode it has given me 107+kms
Single on highway driven at averagely at speeds of 60-65 I have got range of 75kms
Double driven on eco mode has given me 75kms
Double riding in sports mode has given around 65
That difference from 65kms for 1 charge to 105 kms depends on how you are riding and what weight vehicle is pulling anta

You can call electrician and ask him to create 15amp socket near ur parking, he will pull the cable from ur meter and create the socket wherever u want.

good question, to charge full battery from 0-100% it need 5 hours of charging on 5amp scoket, which will consume 2-3 units of electricity, in our area per unit cost is 11 rs so total cost for 1 full charge is around 25-30 rs and in full charge it gives range of 90-95 km so over all per km it will cost u 0.35 paise

What is cost of new battery?
Except its metal body i do not see any other advantages over other EV scooters like Iqube and arther.
The electric parts are from Bosh that is also one of the major difference and iqube has less range compared to Chetak even fit and finish is better in Chetak. Athe no doubt is a good EV.
