  • Yup the HornTrader's got one!
    From the first Vincent Bach trumpet production in 1925 through the late 1970’s, all Bach professional trumpets incorporated two-piece valve casing construction. The bottom two-thirds of the casing was made out of yellow brass and the top third was made out of nickel silver. The late 70’s ushered in a new era of CNC machining capabilities allowing valve casings to be machined entirely out of yellow brass in one piece. From the late 1970’s through today, all “180” series Bach Stradivarius trumpets have been made using the one-piece brass casing design
    The year 2010 marked the introduction of the newest generation of Bach Stradivarius trumpets; the “190” series. This series is built using a vintage two-piece valve casing design. Two-piece valve casings provide more feedback to the player, a quicker response, and more color in the sound. The model 190S43 is the latest offering in the “190” series Bach Stradivarius trumpets.
    Features
    Bach Stradivarius trumpets are the number one selling professional trumpets in the world. The 190S43 features a professional #43 bell with a side-seam resulting in a quick response and a brilliant tone. The combination of two-piece valve construction, nickel silver outer slides, brass valve guides, and a steel bell wire provides a broad sound with a quick response and great feedback to the player. The silver-plate finish provides a controlled brilliance to the overall sound. These features combined with a .459" medium-large bore allow the player to produce a well-rounded sound well suited for all types of music.
    Tech Specs
    Bach "Stradivarius" - .459" Medium-large bore, standard weight body, two-piece nickel/brass valve casing construction, standard weight yellow brass one-piece hand-hammered #43 bell with a side seam and a round steel wire bell rim, standard construction #25 mouthpipe, Monel pistons, brass and plastic valve guides, nickel silver outer and brass inner slides, 1st slide thumb saddle, adjustable 3rd slide rod stop, silver-plate finish, Bach 3C mouthpiece, C180 woodshell case.

    As usual your playing was great. I am not a huge Bach fan but it did sound very nice. I definitely prefer the 43, 72, 7, 38 bell over the 37. The added reverb though made it a bit hard to really hear nuances. It surely make the room sound more alive, bigger and warmer though for sure! Beautiful looking horn for sure!

    I have a 43 star bell Stradivarius from college circa 1977 and I was wondering how to identify if I have the two piece valve casing. Serial is 155199. Anyways, great video and we really enjoyed hearing you play.

      "In a Sentimental Mood" is a jazz composition by Duke Ellington. He composed the piece in 1935 and recorded it with his orchestra during the same year. Check out Coltrane with Duke. It will make you cry.............

    What’s the difference between the 190S37 and 190S43 sound wise and how you feel when u play them? I payed them both out today at the TMEA convention and I couldn’t notice that much of a difference between them. I need a little help deciding on which one to get.

    How does this feel compared to the .459 bore commercial model?

    • @HornTrader
      @HornTrader  6 лет назад

      trumpet 2501 A little warmer, darker horn, really great sound for the soloist, but still might be a little small and heavy for lead playing

      "In a Sentimental Mood" is a jazz composition by Duke Ellington that is also performed as a song. Ellington composed the piece in 1935 and recorded it with his orchestra the same year. Lyrics were later written for the tune by Manny Kurtz; as was the custom of the day, Ellington's manager Irving Mills cut himself in for a percentage of the publishing, the song credited to all three.
      According to Ellington, the song was born in Durham, North Carolina. "We had played a big dance in a tobacco warehouse, and afterwards a friend of mine, an executive in the North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company, threw a party for Amy. I was playing piano when another one of our friends had some trouble with two chicks. To pacify them, I composed this there and then, with one chick standing on each side of the piano."[1] The original recording featured solos by Otto Hardwicke, Harry Carney, Lawrence Brown, and Rex Stewart.

      HornTrader Thank you for replying, I am going to go learn it. You do an amazing job on all of your reviews and I greatly appreciate the detailed demonstrations and review that you put out. Also, where do you learn the songs you use for the reviews? Do you use online music sources or do you learn by ear? Thank you
