    Great tutorial!!! Question... how to you call out different segments and/or presets?

    • @3ATIVE
      @3ATIVE  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you.
      A: You can really call individual Segments or Presets, as Presets are made of Segments. What you can do is format the rest_command "Data" that includes everything within a preset. Then send that to WLED.
      You can get this (JSON Formatted) data by looking inside one of your saved WLED presets.

  • @stovedoctor
    @stovedoctor Год назад +1

    A bit of a tangled web for this neophyte but you detail it well. What happens if you remove power from the setup? Will it remember the last scrolling message and just continue when power is restored? (Like if you had it on a timer, or an alexa plug, and it would come on for a few hours every day)

    • @3ATIVE
      @3ATIVE  11 месяцев назад

      Yes it will, as the "segment name" (which is where the text goes) is saved within WLED.
      However, for WLED to return to that on power-up, you need to set that in config > LED preferences, then scroll down to "Apply preset [xx] at boot".

I have 2 8x32 and I’ve set them up stacked and it’s running as a 16x32. Now I can create segments and have the top do whatever and the bottom, for example, show the time. In home assistant, how do I direct it to send the info to either ID 1 or ID 2 (segment 1 or 2). So I can have text alerts sent to the top and have the static time on the bottom. Sorry if I don’t make total sense, hope you understand though what I’m getting at. At 12:20 you sorta say other segments.

      Thanks.
      Sure, each segment can have any number of LEDs in its Width and Height. So, you just make two segments of 8x8, just make sure you set the 2nd to "Start" at 8.
      Then, in Home Assistant, send your first data to segment 0, and the other to segment 1.
