I've never been married and this is what I want to be able to do in order to save up monies but I have my gold fish and age 33. I will continue saving.
wyn clark I like your style. I’d much rather live in RV instead of some overpriced concrete box. Seriously. RV is the best house one can have. Mobility, freedom... you name it. I wish I could live in America some day and live with my dog in RV. I really do
@@lindadannis224 you are either heartless or stupid. I'm a motorhome homeless person. After taking care of my mother with alzheimers for the last 11 years, in the last 4 years of her life I could not leve her alone so I had to take early retirement and as a consequence I make very little. No wear near to pay the rents, utilities and food for California. My son helped me but he does not make that much and has his bills. I can't work I had a couple of falls and arthritis. But if I can live in my rv. I DO NOT NEED any welfare, but if I'm force to move to housing I will qualify for section 8, EBT, and medical. What do you prefer, let us park in designated streets, or pay more taxes??? You tell us, most of those in motorhomes don't want to be on government assistance, I talk to as many of them as I can, that's what they say. Most just want a place to park so they can work. They are not asking for much. The city could add some dump stations near some of these areas to cut down the polution on the streets.
I lived in my motor home for 10 years. I work a full time job and realized I couldn't retire with the debt I had. I sold my house paid off 75 grand in debt. Now I'm ready to retire and it's because I did it.
I am retired, health issues and SS I hope my meager savings,SS and my house being paid off will work. An RV plus equity on the house doesnt sound bad, if I weren't chased off by the cops all the time.
I live in a motorhome and don’t feel homeless! I’ve been wandering around in the deserts of Arizona. It has its challenges, but anymore the price of housing just makes traditional living arrangements out of reach for some of us retirees and others. I’m glad to know about this place because if I want to go to LA I know someplace I can park. Thanks for the info.
If you are driving around in your RV then you are not in the same situation as many of these RVs seen parked everywhere. Majority of these RVs never move from where they are parked at.
Pogey Bait that’s true but house needs maintenance too. But yes. Real estate holds its value much better. Usually. But it also keeps person in one place and limits he’s or her job opportunities. Motorhome is quite good in this case. If there’s oil boom in North Dakota, well it’s possible to go there and make good money. And when industry dies and another pops up elsewhere, it’s relatively easy to move and work elsewhere.
As someone who travels and sleeps in my van, I have to tell you, people who live in motor homes don't consider themselves homeless. Less of a home is a home none the less.
+Robin Marie Your lifestyle is not the situation here in LA . www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/
I live in the city of Long Beach, CA, that's about 30 minutes from Venice, CA, -- you're wrong -- the people living in these dilapidated motor homes will empty their septic tanks full of human feces and urine out into our gutters and into our streets. Legally you have to take your motor home to a place that accepts this kind of waste and you have to pay a fee to empty your tanks. The homeless just empty their septic tanks right out into our residential neighborhood streets. And, a lot of these people have communicable diseases like Hepatitis-A and Hepatitis-C because they're drug addicts or recovering drug addicts. Think about that for a minute. Would you want that in your neighborhood? Would you want the crimes (burglary, assaults and property crimes, etc.) that these people commit in YOUR neighborhood?
Carl Larsen exactly... that word “homeless” is ridiculous. Just some made up word to describe people who refuse to be bank slave for the rest of their life... I personally think houseless people who live in RVs are geniuses. I love these RVs
I sold my house with good size equity and now I'm full time rving since 10/1/18. I pay $150 a month for thousand trails membership and I move rv park to rv park every 21days in so cal. I will get back to housing market when time is right. I love full time rving! No more coughing out $2000 for rent.😛
jong lee very smart decision. I’d live in RV over some random overpriced concrete box anytime. I love this lifestyle. I wish I can live in USA and roll around with my RV someday. I really like it a lot
Many of these nomads that you call homeless really aren't, do more research on the nomadic life style. You'll be surprised how many chose this lifestyle over sticks and bricks.
Lynn Driver yea as I was telling this worry wart many people who lived out in the Valley experienced an 8.2 earth quake and where terrified when a three story collapsed on The lessees in the middle of the night campers and tents where everywhere and people out of quake fear opted for that shortly there after I grew up in the Valley. I lived in one in Anaheim I had a lot of leftover cash and bought an apartment building in lake worth Florida!
that is not the case with these people. you probably don't live in CA so you don't know. these people aren't living a nomadic lifestyle by choice. the only alternative for these people is to live on the streets.
And with rent control those of us with rentals will not be able to pay the bills that come with rental ownership like insurance, property taxes, federal and state income taxes along with the mortgage payment. All but the mortgage payment seem to go up annually so if government is able to dictate what we can collect for rent then we have no choice but to sell and there goes another rental option for people unable to purchase their own home which leads to different problems. So if a rental property is in an area with rental control and losing $300 a month it's not feasible for the owner of the rental property to sustain such a loss. There are two sides to everything.
@@ShaleyJean yes it's two sides but we all know and don't try to act like it doesn't exist but a lot of these rental property companies get greedy. That's the main problem. If you don't want to be fair maybe you should join another industry other than housing.
my huband and i have taken on homelessness to be closer to them all so we bought a wagon and horses to travel the highways and biways and mountain tops spreading truth and love and when we can we cook a hot meal for them.its been rough lotta haters but some good folks still left.sadly we have lost several in cold weather and strangly some have disapeared (mabie marcl law)but we still keep going thank you for what you do may the father protect you...love TIWFD
I've been homeless for 12 years. Down in San Diego. There are tent cities down here as well. Obviously not even half the size of L.A. I went up there two weeks ago, on Jan. 1st and drove down Venice Blvd. and noticed those RVs too !! I live in my van and I avoid the poorer areas. And yes, I have a fulltime job but can't afford housing. I appreciate what you're doing...raising awareness of the problem. I truely hope SOME positive end comes from your broadcasting of our dilemma !!
The city can easily find a place for you to park on City Land or land taken by imminent domain. They should set up places to park citywide and they can charge you $5 a day for services which is only $150 a month and if you can't pay it you can pay the fee by cleaning and removing brush around the streets. There should also be one FHA loan size, since they bump it up in LA, all the property managers just bump up the price of homes. Garcetti just wants to build big apartment complexes wasting millions on a solution that is free, as land is free like air.
I know this is going to sound bad, but they are living the homeless lifestyle in luxury, motorhomes are way better than being stranded on the streets, Stranded in a shelter, or living in a car. I really wish the government would step up and do a better job... I wish they would designated some land for the motorhomes with portable restrooms and running water.
Homeless Lives Matter I live in Fort Worth Texas and the homeless rate has almost double in a year, most of them are in tents under over passes...I see how they live everyday on my way to work, and the city now has a strict ban on panhandling so I'm not sure how they are eating regular meals and surviving...I often give money to those that look like they really need it, especially if kids or pets are involved... I also know some like to panhandle as a business and I try to avoid those people...even though it's illegal they still do it, then run when police are nearby...On a Saturday morning I just parked somewhere and watched how they operate.
Harry Balls Ya Harry with showers and sewers and street lights and put them on the school lunch programs, another socialist liberal answer to the problem of not getting a job,California put their governor moon beam in charge, and people say they want to leave the union,Please do before its in total collapse, I don't want my taxes that I work for to go to socialism
Of course, typical liberal response-Government should do more. How, tax the working people who own their own homes or rent from a landlord more taxes. Charge the commuters higher gas taxes until the point they too will be unable to pay the taxes and end up homeless. Then the government can swoop in and own the properties on the cheap.
If you check some of my recent videos you will see that my beard or shave down and Y facial hair is cleaned up . Long hair and facial hair or not my normal appearance anyway . There are personal reasons why I started growing it in the 1st place that I will explain in the near future .
So what was your point? I live in the L. A. Area , I would prefer people in motor homes than tents. L.A has a map of residential streets which shows where sleeping in your car is permitted, it's marked by red, yellow, and green lines, no longer than 72 hours at a time and not during the street cleaning times posted on each street.
I know about it well. I just returned to Florida after spending 7 months living out of my car in LA. There are a few good discreet places to park and sleep in LA. Not many but a few !
Homeless Lives Matter But why are you talking about people living in RVs like they are annoying you, pissing you off, that their vehicles are run down and skirting parking laws....really seems like you’re talking out of both sides of your mouth. You say you’re basically the same as these people you’re talking about, yet you’re doing some kind of expose on them and the whole tone of your video is ‘we have to do somehthing about these unsightly RV “homeless” people.
You are making assumptions. Millions of people called "Snowbirds" live in their RVs. Venice Beach is a popular place to go. at certain times of the year. many of them retired many of them are professionals and choose to live in their RV instead of paying outrageous amounts of rent. a lot of them work off the computer on the internet and make probably more money than you.
These are certainly a better choice than the tent &trash folks in the video you made. They are houseless but not homeless. Sometimes folks have to do the best they can in bad situations and I'm fairly certain the tent folks would feel like they were in a mansion if they had one the rv's your showing. To see vandwellers by the thousands go to Quartzsite az.
Wait until you've got RV's parked all the way down both sides of your street with dogs tied outside and people begging . You'll probably be making them sandwiches !
After 08, we lost everything! Saved our bacon to have our RV. Now we have bought and/or sold 3 properties. After 08, it was devesating. I'm back in my Motor home, by choice and renovating another property. Love my motorhome, but 08 and 09 was awful. Choice vs. Have to!
I lived in an old (but decent) motorhome in the AZ desert for almost 5 years, mostly by choice, on someone's private property who allowed me to do it. I had a commercial diesel generator that provided all the electricity I needed. I had a 1975 F250 with a utility bed and liftgate on it. I had to haul water in about once a week. I was about to buy a huge water tank on a trailer before I decided to give up the motor home life and buy a house (yes, I had the ability to buy a house the whole time) Living all by yourself in a motorhome can actually be enjoyable, especially if you are doing it because you want to, not because you have to.
Wildone: You mean like a tent on a sidewalk or a cardboard box with no toilet or shower or heat or air conditioning? But, yes, it's their very own. 🙄 As for the motorhomes, that's a precarious existence when you're poor or broke. They have to be kept running, the toilet tanks have to be emptied someplace, and propane has to be bought. And God help these people if the police start giving tickets again.
Venice is a beach town and a lot of people literally stay for a week or longer in those all over those beach towns Oxnard is even worse. Just leave people alone and don’t embarrass you’re fellow human Dammit!! Now my beer. Is kickin in and your pissing me off!!
I cant believe you are making an issue out of people living in a motor home, thank God they have a place to live. Pray you never are FORCED to live in a place smaller than many bathrooms, what a joke
People that live in a motorHOME.......have a home! So tired of people like you confusing issues, why not go give out food to some real homeless and film it? At least you would be serving a purpose, be well and feel better.
many who live in an RV quickly realize that all the tables, nooks and dividers are just a bunch of b/s weekend campers utilize, but when living in them, enormous amounts of usable space can be opened up by removal. then household furniture like recliners and such can be brought in, makes the whole event more do-able for the NOT homeless..
I think people in motorhomes are houseless not homeless. there is a big movement these days of people purposely giving up their homes to move into motorhomes. it’s becoming a real big thing. I’m thinking about doing it myself one of these days and there is so much free land for people to park on 14 days here, 14 days there. it’s called BLM land. look it up
kayleeskottageonwheels Nomad I'm not sure why he's making this an issue? He's not offering solutions just trying to cause more problems it seems. I just can't wrap my mind around this guy walking down a street in L.A. and thinking that the beautiful class A motorhomes are all belonging to homeless ppl. Are you effing kidding me???? I have a class c and would gladly move into any of those ""HOMELESS RVS " in a heartbeat. Lol!!! What is his problem???
BohemianDream 67 I have a no idea what his problem is. I lived in travel trailers twice in my life. one was just a 17 foot travel trailer with three kids and you know even though I had some problems with that rig I just really enjoyed the simplicity of it all. I can’t wait till I retire and go full-time again. It seems like his issue is that nobody is getting a ticket for being parked on the street more than their allotted.
Having visited CA and LA I can totally understand why so many homeless people live there. The weather's great and LA is so spacious. Imagine being homeless in Chicago, Detroit or Baltimore?
pirucreek: It can be over 100 in the summer. I can remember 115 one day in early Fall. (Summer-like temperatures run from mid-July to mid-October in southern CA.) I hope the motor homes have air conditioning. 😥
Please allow me a word. I am living full-time now in my 1988 Class C motorhome. I can tell you all of my legitimate reasons for doing so, and I'm certain you would agree it is my best option. There are a lot of people coming to the same conclusions, and most of them have very good reasons. I just want to spend my last years seeing this beautiful country and it's people. Yes there are people down and out who are exercising their rights and not following established courtesies such as cleaning up after themselves. But by and large, the majority of us are good people, not harming anyone and paying our way. Please don't lump us in with homeless people. We have a home... And we can go where we want within statutes and reason.
Jim, Lukewarm is just what his name implies. I guess he also forgot to mention the rest of the name he's referring to...MOTOR...as in moving. Moving down the road for recreational purposes! lol
lukewarm17 you can't be serious. While I can admit it's not a "house" a R.V. is in fact NOT a home they were not built to live in and be used as a "home" although people do use them as a "home" these people are homeless. Parked on the side of a fucking road and this person says "there not homeless"
I like all the videos you made about homelessness crisis in LA. Your videos are more sensitive and sticking to my soul than other postings in the RUclips. Great job, Sir. I learnt from you how people in general are callous and mean because they don't want to speak about the housing crisis. God bless you. Haile Okbe, Toronto, Canada
You've been here 2 months, I've been in L.A. 55 yrs. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Let them have their dignity, and quit exposing other less fortunate than you. They move them when they have to, and if they dont, they get towed. JUST LIKE IN EVERY STATE. KEEP YOUR NOSE TO YOURSELF. NO ONE'S HIDING SHIT, THEY WANT TO BE OFF THE GRID AND CHOOSE TO LAY LOW.
Mark - I'm 48 yrs old a native to CA and lived in this area half my life, and I literally left a comment saying almost the same exact thing! He comes out here for 2 months and is suddenly some expert on this issue out here. I have seen his comments in here and have seen him make comments to show he hates these people and doesn't care about them. He just wants the attention and subs (to make money on YT) and to expose these people to get rid of them. He is hateful and has no compassion for these people. Just judgment and assumptions.
UzeHerName , yup, he's just one of those creeps, that has nothing better to do, than to bother people, he doesn't even know. He's WAY BEYOND A HATER. And has never been in a situation like this. So he should just keep walking and mind his own business.
+Mark Romero DIGNITY ? They deserve real dignity and not being used as pawns by elected officials who want it to look bad in order to ask for more funding that can go on mis spent over and over again.
@@robertchilders8045 Awful. Where did this happen? Im so sorry. The system is stealing everything from us. Insurance companies rip us off. Cops do bad things. Banksters steal our homes....on and on and on Can you please tell us what happened to you?
+farpointgamingdirect a mobile home is not a motorhome. A mobile home has wheels and no motor with no means to transport itself around. A motorhome has drivetrain and is drivable.
This is not unique to just Southern California. We have the same issue here as well. The parking laws are strickly enforced. Alot of these people lost there homes, and this is all they have left. I rather see them in motorhomes than in tents.
+Clyde Pubill I agree. My point is though that LA ignores the illegally parked motor homes in order to keep their statistics lower than they actually are.
Clyde Pubill why don't you go back home to Florida and film all the homeless throughout your home state looks to me like your trying to make more trouble for the homeless or you just wanna be a big hit utubrr channel? How you supporting yourself?seems your filming homeless every day. Orareyouonstatefunds yourself justsaying......
Mabe people don't want costly houses....motor home.....that's a home so how can they behomless......people are tired of the status to kept up with to feel like you are somebody....so stupid
I’m 45 and retired from the usmc I love living my motorhome these guys have even nicer homes than me if they are in a motorhome they have a nice home the definition of homeless is dependent on what you think homeless is these people aren’t homeless
This person is delusional about RV's. Not only are there homeless people living in RVs but people working 9 to 5 jobs or 2nd shift or even 3rd shift that couldn't afford to pay rent because even though minimum wage was raised so was everything else . That means nothing changed so the city of Los Angeles drew up a map of everywhere it is legal to park a RV / Car and live in them . As for them not getting tickets well that's a crock of shit. The problem is that the tow companies that have city contracts with them refused to tow them because the people couldn't pay the tow price and that meant the company got stuck with it and they had many of them taking up space . The city would rather have homeless in RVs then homeless people on the street .
Ronnie Gray you can give me a million dollars and I’ll still rather live in RV instead of overpriced concrete box. I love these RVs. I wish the rest of the world would pick up this lifestyle
ive been looking at craigslist in SF for rooms for rent, i have found houses with up to 40 people living in them, all working. many have 10 or more living in them. many rent rooms with 4 bunk beds in each room calling those quads, charging $1000 for each bunk bed, thats $4000 for 1 single room total. The PROBLEM is not the homeless who cant afford to be ripped off by greedy land lords, who the hell can afford to pay $4000 for a single room in a home or apartment? These arent even mansions or luxury homes. Its criminal. Instead the focus is on those who are working and cant afford these crazy rents, or those who arent working and just may have plain given up all hope. criminal, the criminals arent living in the streets and they arent living in RVs, the criminals are the ones exploiting the needy and causing this disaster.
+Ricardo Cisneros Here is another example . www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/
I like these RV guys. It’s really unique way of living and they also work and pay taxes so I think it’s their right to be able to park their home on public land. Not everyone wants to live in overpriced concrete box. I totally understand it actually. If I could ever live in America, I would love to live in Los Angeles. I like that freedom and somewhat chaotic lifestyle. That’s where innovation comes from.
Not entitled at al as I also am someone who has been through a lot of " hard times " and at the time of my shooting that video was also sleeping out of my car.
I’m one of those Homeless Southern California RVers, but it’s more by choice and I look at it differently of more of a VanLifer than homeless RVer. I’m down in San Diego at the moment just got back from Texas but I’ll be in LA probably tomorrow
If you are traveling around then you are an RVr and not like majority of the RVs that are seen parked for months at a time. Many do not even run and are being rented out illegally. www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/
yes, I'm very aware...the hard part of this though it makes it harder on all of us Van and RV dwellers because when the cities crack down they crack down on all of us.
You’re a smart person. I’d much rather live in RV too. Motorhome is also a home. And actually it’s much better home coz you can move with it and be free. Be in the place where opportunities are. Perfect. I think more people should live on wheels
Living in a motor home in parked on the side of the road in the middle of a city is not living off grid. Majority of those RVs you see are illegal rentals. www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/
Im watching this because I’m considering buying a new RV. Looking into a 2019 Thor four winds 31w. I’m here in Los Ángeles and my business has slowed down for the last two years and it’s getting harder to afford my lifestyle and rent. Rent is $2350. I think there has to be a mutual respect and consideration. The RV’ers and residents. Everyone needs to be understanding, not so particular and judgmental.
Your situation is much different than many of those RVs you see around LA. www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/
voicesfrombeyond my intentions weren’t to be rude or to offend so if I did, my bad. I was relating in the sense that I’d have to deal with similar scrutiny rv dwellers go thru everyday living full time, thats all. Also in that same breath, go fuck yourself 🙏🏼
When you are in a r.v. you are in a whole new world of scamming! The predators out there are many! The government is not going to help you! Most r.v. parks are exploiting the "homeless, r.v. homeless!" Most parks require that your motorhome be newer than ten years old.
I know a couple who are living in a motor home in Florida. They love it. Granted though, they were able to get a deal with, like, a state park or national park or something, I think. Don't know how long that will last. They email me from time to time. (I live in Kentucky.)
I'm not sure what you're definition or "RVers" are, +Homeless Lives Matter, but to me, if you own and occupy an RV, as well as maintaining it, you're an RVer. From what I see, there are people living in RVs, whether by choice or force, and therefore, they are RVers. Merriam-Webster also clarifies the definition of an RVer: "one who occupies or operates a recreational vehicle."
It is a funny thing, because this is perception. To see people on the streets in all weather is awful. however, I lived in a few scenarios. one, 6 weeks in a car, that was tough, there was no room to move etc. 2. I lived in a tent in a forest in the scottish highlands. This was half and half for me. We had a generator, but we had no wifi, so we could not work form there. so we ran out of cash. 3. I lived for 6 months in a tiny caravan, with no electric, water or gas. I put a gypsy stove in to keep warm. Now, I am honest. if i had found some where more permanent to put it, i would have had no issue staying in it. I miss it. I am now in a flat ( apartment). I am only here until I can make enough money to get back up to the highlands, and buy land. Then i would be more than happy to live in a motorhome or caravan. to me they represent freedom, and its a great alternative lifestyle. The thing that stands out about this, is lack of cash. If they had it, they would move about more and experience more places.
Thàts not homeless I live in a trailer home and is very comfortable better than a house no taxes no rent just my water light and food it's awesome oh and no neighbors bugging me that's the best part
Homeless know that affordable housing is not coming any time soon, if at all. They are not going into a shelter or live on the sidewalk. A motorhome affords them privacy, no matter how beat up it looks. County Government needs to realize this and create an RV park for this population, charge say $200-300 per month ( since most homeless do work or have government assistance coming in). The money would be used for operational expenses for the park. It can't be that difficult.
yes. i thought of that as well. Some can afford that cheap of rent to have power and a black tank dump... for the really poor perhaps places for their tents with rules so crime is minimum... or tent towns like refugee camps where there are showers and toilets and a mess hall and social services to get them a cheap apartment near family or work. real services...oh not in America. our people can't live in tents.!! geesh. we can help build camps in other countries, but nothing to help our people. look at Katrina. the trailers FEMA put people up in were filled with toxic chemicals and they got really sick. i suppose some people park the RV near their jobs so an RV park way out someplace would not help as the rigs are gas guzzlers draining the meager pay check...and some barely run. We need some of the big corp. and counties, states to start building communities where rent is income based. where you can walk for shops and such. less reliance on cars all the time. I know the BLM land, there are no jobs out there., food prices are high in Joshua tree and Quartzsite for example, and not a lot of doctors or school. it gets to be 110 degrees and sick, old poor people would die. You have to be really self sufficient to live in the desert in a car or RV. I think we need answers from our elected officials and we need to write to them and call and demand they do something and stop funding the things that are not necessary. We need to march on Washington and every state capital! The banks control everything, the 1% and we want is to have middle class lives where health care is a human right. Education and employment. people escape by using drugs because they see no future. they have little training or promise of a decent job and a home that won't be foreclosed on after 17 years of paying and repairing and taxes and interest and they got sick or lost their job. SHAME on the powers that be.
Okay, who pays for the home's water, electricity, AC and sewage? If the motor home family has a child enrolled in public school, who pays the property taxes that fund that school? (True, LA schools suck, but they cost a fortune.) SoCal has more workers, retail stores, contractors and marijuana cultivators/vendors that operate completely off the books than any other place I ever have lived. There are consequences for these things.
I’m a traveler and homeless advocate. This issue is rampant, but few see the issue as you said and it’s true it’s being hidden from the public eye, I surmise to not show how bad it really is as you pointed out. Statistically, over half of Americans have little savings and are struggling, so if they show this it’s just a reminder of our systematic issue. One of the main reasons for the mentally I’ll homeless can be traced to Reagan... during his term he closed many mental health institutions, so people ended up on the streets. It’s very sad and I see this everyday. I’m in Phoenix at present and it’s very similar to California. If we really want to address this, most don’t, the main reason for this is unfettered Crapitalism!!! The wealth gap continues, wages have stagnated, healthcare is to expensive, college debt has skyrocketed, education diminished, I could go on and on. America is in a death spiral sadly and government and corporate greed is the main problem, but few really want to look at this. If they do, then something has to be done, easier to put our heads in the sand, fire up the TV and numb out. Look at the opioid addiction today as well. Here in Phoenix it’s unbelievable!!! I would say 8 out of 10 homeless people are on some opioid to numb out. It’s very sad.
Homeless Lives Matter same here in Phoenix. At a circle K gas station people ask me if I want or have some G (meth aka “glass”) or H (heroine)... it’s very sad. Was told a story from homeless guy who said he hid behind a dumpster as a guy got his arm hacked off by an ax for ripping off the cartel. It’s crazy here and very sad.
Could you please reshoot your video. You said you’re studying homelessness and yet you don’t literally know the meaning of the word. Those people are HOUSELESS and not homeless. Those motor homes are their HOME, so technically they have homes. So please use the right terminology. And FYI some of them live there by choice.
You have to have a physical address to run a motor vehicle. How do they lie to get around this. No p.o. box for a driver's license either. They're breaking the law somewhere in the chain
stop blaming illegal aliens for this... Americans have all the opportunities in the history of humans being on earth and yet they still throw it away and want everything given to them because they are Americans.
I don't know if you're really trying to help or what but I'mma tell you I have been living in my RV now for 3 years why because I was given a wrongful eviction why because they didn't like the person I was dating at the time they wanted me to put him on the lease and when I put him on the lease they file paperwork because that month I was late on my rent but they file paperwork so I couldn't move. I worked almost 30 years as a certified nurse's assistant and I paid my rent and took care of my children however the system does not work for us it works against us so these people that are living in their RV you do not know their situation this is why I'm taking the time out to. I was staying in Long Beach and they continuously with giving me tickets but I was told that you can go to Venice because they will not bother you and I think that that is a good thing so with that being said I hope this is being done on a good note because right now from the way you're talkin it seems like your complaining so with that being said I hope the tables turn around and this one day happens to you so you will understand why it is that we had to live in our motorhomes which is way more comfortable way more freedom... I love my RV it is the best thing I have ever done and if I had to do it all over again I would shalom.
You're living in an RV is not the problem. The problem is is that Los Angeles, California as well as many other cities out there have turn away from enforcing regulations and laws only to ignore the illegally parked RVs and tented encampments as well as people sleeping on sidewalks and beneath overpasses. As a result you are allowed to live in your RV in a parking space without being ticketed. Would you not rather be living in an apartment instead of having your life reduced to living in an RV that you did not plan to live in in the first place ?
This statement is false though, the RVs get tickets and will eventually get towed. They don't get towed right away because the city can not handle the volume. The worst offenders do get towed 100%, look up videos of Portland to see what happens when you stop towing. This clearly has not happened in LA, none of the RVs in your video looked broke down.
+Gail Regula these people are not RVrs living in expensive units in their retirement. You are also correct, I cannot even afford a cheap used one righr now.
My neighbors rv cost more than my 1220 sq. ft. house on an acre but sure not in California. Watching tv shows, it would be a 2 million or more home in the Bay Area. I'll keep the snow in exchange for a home is a safe, woodsy and a more private area. Rents for crappy homes are higher than buying if you have credit and a down payment. I would be homeless in California but have a decent house here. Just miles to cities with everything I need but my vet is 1.5 hours away and doctors about an hour. Closest thing to walk to is a landscape business and that would be an hour walk. Lol. So glad to be away from a big city finally. Blight and crime took over. Don't care if friends or any family are two hours away. Got a deal and piece of mind. Had a paid off house to sell so made it easier. Ugh, a mortgage again but cheaper than any rent for a blighted area dump. Feel bad for kids with student loans for useless degrees. Fresh out of college and lots of debt and no jobs but McDonald's. Trade schools have a bigger demand like electricians, etc. and quicker to pay off and good pay.

He's living in his car by choice, he's a wannabe field reporter. He doesn't care about these people, he just cares about content and making himself relevant. He's not homeless, don't let him mess with you like that. This guy makes me so angry. I have been homeless in the past, I have been out there on the street helping homeless. Not harassing them and putting their homes or lives on blast getting them exposed and causing the police to come down on their living situations. He's doing nothing good for these people, just himself.
Mobile living, things such as van life, is a much more affordable way of living, compared to the cost of living as it stands in 2018. I have a van that I travel in when I'm not living on the road full time as a truck driver. I'll never be able to afford a home and I don't plan on trying.
I have been in-and-out of homelessness myself many times through my life and I know what it is like . I also know how these people feel being ignored by the system that is there raising millions of dollars and supposedly to help them .
It is embarrassing and embarrasing that the world's greatest superpower treats its citizens in this way, in my country there are no homeless people, hospital and medical care are free, and everyone is entitled to a home, a place to live, we can not ourselves pay for it, bennefit from Guvement, so do our government, but we also pay everyone the highest taxes in the world, but it's worth all the money, because everyone is doing well in my country, so yes it's embarrassing to see the US treat its citizens so different. All other countries should make a model that we have in Denmark. Now we have also won the title as the world's most happy country and people in the world for 3 years in a row.

At least the homeless living in these vehicles have a roof over their heads and it is kept a bit cleaner than a tent city.

Linda Palson true but RV is more fun than house.
I’d live in RV anytime. I love these things.

Garcetti just wants to build big apartment complexes wasting millions on a solution that is free, as land is free like air.
how many times a week are you spanking it in sandiego?
Tyler Stewart Have you considered moving to the midwest or south. I live in a rust belt state. Yes we have snow but the rents are affordable.
They probably could have afforded a home in another state. California is expensive.
I know this is going to sound bad, but they are living the homeless lifestyle in luxury, motorhomes are way better than being stranded on the streets, Stranded in a shelter, or living in a car.

Parked on the side of a fucking road and this person says "there not homeless"
lukewarm17 if you pull a mobile home into a parking space should you be allowed to " live " there? Where does their sewage go? Totally disgusting.
Beth Myers Their sewage goes in your mouth
I like all the videos you made about homelessness crisis in LA. Your videos are more sensitive and sticking to my soul than other postings in the RUclips. Great job, Sir. I learnt from you how people in general are callous and mean because they don't want to speak about the housing crisis. God bless you. Haile Okbe, Toronto, Canada
I'm happy that they found a place to live. I think it's a good thing that they can park and live
Is rather live in a motorhome than a tent or or card boars box.....if they cant afford a house then thos is the best they can do
+Anthoni C I agree, however the issue is much deeper than people just living in RVs .
I think I would rather live in an RV than a apartment in a mediocre area.
You may have a point there, because I live in a dumpy slum apartment that has bed bugs that I can't get rid of.
Picturing a card boar's box. I wish I could draw, I wd make a cartoon
+UzeHerName you are incorrect.
I wish for people to actually get the help they need and not left ignored to die of OD on the streets.
"Way beyond a hater." Dig that. He's doing real damage, hurting people who can least afford to be hurt.
I went by a tow place in Fallbrook, .CA and the place is full of RVs towed in there. I believe the system is stealing them.
Wouldn't doubt it some townships solution to helping humanity by hurting travelers
This is happening all the country! I am surviving in a r.v.. there are many crooked towing companies out there! They use crooked cops and

@@robertchilders8045 Awful. Where did this happen? Im so sorry.

Can you please tell us what happened to you?
@@beastsaver6514 I got ripped off by crooked politicians and cops to the tune of $100k in San Jose, California.
Sounds like a good alternative to keeping a house.
If you're living in a mobile home you're not homeless.
+farpointgamingdirect a mobile home is not a motorhome. A mobile home has wheels and no motor with no means to transport itself around. A motorhome has drivetrain and is drivable.
It depends on who you are and what situation you're in! If you can't afford regular housing you are at least half homeless!

CSAcitizen Feather you can find bargains
He means they're new to that spot if they stay somewhere for too long they go flat so he clearly hasn't been there too long that's all he was saying
It's the new way of life. Who can afford a house anymore. Let's all go camping permanently!
I live in a motorhome and I'm not homeless it is a life choice. It is cheaper every place except California why anyone would want to live there.
I lived in my old motor home for 3 yrs. It was great, and I would do it again.
Mabe people don't want costly houses....motor home.....that's a home so how can they behomless......people are tired of the status to kept up with to feel like you are somebody....so stupid
So how do you study homelessness and you don't talk to the homeless... Really
I do talk with ones who will talk to me.
Talk about calling the kettle black, he spent 7 months living in his car in LA
Where did he park? Maybe jealous he had a car and they had Motor Homes.
I’m 45 and retired from the usmc I love living my motorhome these guys have even nicer homes than me if they are in a motorhome they have a nice home the definition of homeless is dependent on what you think homeless is these people aren’t homeless
Not just California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Etc. I'm a truck driver, coast to coast, see homeless everywhere.
Is it that bad everywhere?
They are fortunate to have those motorhomes to live in.
+Michele Eastman I agree, however it would be better if they had their lives back.
Absolutely! From the look of things in this country, it is iffy!
Then u find a place that is cheeper. Or go to school for a better job. It makes the city or town look like trash.

Mind your business. People are going thru hard times. Save your 2 cents. Hes a Perfect example of a self entitled pick.
Many do not even run and are being rented out illegally.

yes, I'm very aware...the hard part of this though it makes it harder on all of us Van and RV dwellers because when the cities crack down they crack down on all of us.

Some of us chose to live in an rv and love it!
I met some of the nicest people that were homeless and a lot of them help each other in many ways. My desire is to live off the grind
Living in a motor home in parked on the side of the road in the middle of a city is not living off grid. Majority of those RVs you see are illegal rentals. www.dailynews.com/2017/11/28/las-underground-homeless-rv-rental-market-creates-dangerous-environment-councilman-says/

+Stalemate IB The people in LA are not RVrs .
+The Indigo Traveller Yes but that is not majority of the case in LA.

Thàts not homeless I live in a trailer home and is very comfortable better than a house no taxes no rent just my water light and food it's awesome oh and no neighbors bugging me that's the best part
what a great human being you are...
No better than anyone else.
We all should be expected to respect the same laws no matter who we are.
Sheila Armistead: Good idea.
Sheila Armistead $200-$300 per month for a parking spot doesn't sound very good to me.
yes. i thought of that as well.
4:43 Motor home homeless is an oxymoron, Red. A motor home is a domicile, which means it's considered to be a home.
Did you learn that from breaking bad?
Incorrect, Domicile is a fixed address.
Castaways’ in motor homes feel stranded on society’s fringe
www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-rv-homeless-20180304-htmlstory.html
I believe majority Homeless on LA streets are on Meth or heroine .
WOW .... now that is scary !
All this guy is doing is getting these people in trouble for where they are parked.
Shut up man.
Homeless??? I'm here saving and rasing my credit score dreaming to buy a motorhome. How is that homeless?
As a newly rv homeless, it's hard to find places to go.
Oh, but another person commented and said someone living in an RV is not Homeless .
Yeah......
I think it would be hard too. The places are slowly being red curbed too.
You’re making me want to get an rv and go to LA... lol
Could you please reshoot your video. You said you’re studying homelessness and yet you don’t literally know the meaning of the word. Those people are HOUSELESS and not homeless. Those motor homes are their HOME, so technically they have homes. So please use the right terminology. And FYI some of them live there by choice.
+aldesad you dont get it.n
You have to have a physical address to run a motor vehicle. How do they lie to get around this. No p.o. box for a driver's license either. They're breaking the law somewhere in the chain
ASK SOME OF THE THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT IT!
Too bad we don't treat our homeless as well.
stop blaming illegal aliens for this... Americans have all the opportunities in the history of humans being on earth and yet they still throw it away and want everything given to them because they are Americans.
I love seeing motorhomes all over the place!!!
This clearly has not happened in LA, none of the RVs in your video looked broke down.
gmagma_co Hello Can I move in with you?
Some RVs cost nearly $200,000. This Ginger Boy couldn't afford even a used one that can cost more than $50,000. More than many stationary homes.

Thank you. Is this guy really that stupid, or is he just this despicable? I think his contempt for the homeless is blaringly obvious.
Mobile living, things such as van life, is a much more affordable way of living, compared to the cost of living as it stands in 2018. I have a van that I travel in when I'm not living on the road full time as a truck driver. I'll never be able to afford a home and I don't plan on trying.

USA : the most powerful and rich country in the world seems not having money for solving this problems. Shame, shame, shame on all politicians
Now we have also won the title as the world's most happy country and people in the world for 3 years in a row.

you dont now about the root of this problems, what would happen if danmark would gain 500,000 people evrey year? u,s gains more than 3,000,000 per year
Not the Utopian society some think it is. Happiest country?? Maybe due to being the 4th highest antidepressant usage in the world. Lol
Nadejda Schmidt But what you forgot to say about you're socialist country is that you pay a 50% income tax rate and pay huge taxes on fuel and food!! YOU ALSO HAVE A 1/100 OF OUR POPULATION WHICH IS 350 MILLION PEOPLE! So before you run you're mouth maybe you should know what you're talking about!!
And still quite a high rate of suicide and divorce
I live on Venice as you filmed this and you are right about all the motorhomes. The local church was asked to let them park on the churches parking lot over night and the church/school declined due to multiple reasons they stated in mass. Idk what should be done. I have received so much slack about the MotorHome Homeless video from many who just do not understand the truth.

It is going to hit a boiling point.
