loved the video! one of my tips for you guys is to cover use >
stick-on paint sheets to change the kitchen! i think that's the one space left that needs an upgrade then your space is complete :D / > also that brown wall next to the fridge that you have the photos stuck to you could cover that in a cream/ canvas hanging sheet to size or stick wallpaper I think it would modernise that part a lot . what if you moved the dish washer to where the microwave oven was and the microwave above the fridge!? anyhoo I'm thinking out loud hahah
anyhoo I think your home looks lovely and really suits you guys!

reason why i love watching your video is that you guys are truly humble and authentic in your own ways. sarahs absolutely right. buying all the exorbitant and humungous furnitures don't make sense if your spaces cant accommodate them, yet there's a good number of people in korea (and perhaps in other countries) who would make such frivolous decision regardless just to 'show and prove' to the others. it's really soothing to watch your videos and love how you decorated your home despite not having to go through an actual renovation. thanks for sharing!

You know you're an adult when you get excited about an in depth behind the scenes video about interior design 😅
You guys did such an awesome job and this time lapse really shows how much time and effort has gone into your new space and how much you both had to work at at. My favourite piece in your new place is the cat tower - it fits in your living area so well and is so beautifully designed!

Good Job on the timelapse. One thing that sticks with me is the acronym *SPACE* , it is more about keeping your place and things at a less stressful level.
Sort, Purge, Assign, Containerize, Evaluate, when you do it in this order you buy the right smart storage for where it will go and what will be in it.

    • @2hearts1seoul

I found taking your time to find the right pieces is the best way to go. Most of my furniture aside from my bed is second hand items in great condition. You save a lot more money this way and you can wait and find unique pieces that you might not find in stores anymore.

    • @2hearts1seoul
      @2hearts1seoul  4 года назад

Absolutely! Over half of our items from our previous place were second hand-including cooking utensils, blankets, and our lamps 😁
We decided to get new stuff after moving because most of our secondhand stuff was getting pretty worn out and it was really starting to show, haha. We really took a long time choosing each piece for our new place ☺️

The time-lapse was sick, the editing is so well done, Kyuho!
We're moving into our first 'our OUR' (no roommates, living there longer than a few months) apartment in a month and I'm taking mad notes from you guys, as well as researching as much as I can. The one thing that's stuck with me has definitely been the wood undertone "rule". It's hard to find exact matches when you purchase furniture from different places, so learning the undertone matching has been a game changer for me.
Your new place is absolutely beautiful and #goals, I'm so glad you guys are loving it, and it's so well deserved!

We moved into a home that had a niche with quite extreme measurements - 10 feet wide, by 4 feet high by 3 inches deep. Thought of hiring someone to do a mural or purchasing a wallpaper type mural tailored to size but all in all, we didn't want anything that permanent. Instead, I use it as an art gallery. In the beginning, I simply bought 3 poster size frames & placed beautiful fabric in each one as a focal point. Then, when I discovered abstract painting, I changed it up to showcasing my work (just for my own enjoyment - lol!). Next, my goal is to lighten up the drapes so more light is allowed to come into this particular space. It's just fun experimenting. You guys did an awesome job! Kudos!!

I love how you've decorated your place. Tasteful and functional as well. I remember I had this idea of the type of furniture I wanted long before I even found my home, but it realised it wouldn't work in the space that I had, so I had to re-think everything. I also remember feeling overwhelmed going from a room in a houseshare to my own flat, how was I going to fill it and with what? For me choosing the colour was terrifying, it was a huge decision and I couldnt decide, but then I found a set of curtains I loved and I based everything around that...so happy with how it turned out😊

I love your apartment and how cozy your home is now. I’ve lived in a shoe box in Korea, then a loft. It can be so hard to make those apartments cozy and you did an amazing job dealing with the wallpaper and the odd placement of plugs, intercoms, floor and water heating panels, etc. The one thing that I always did, was make sure that my space was organized (especially the cupboards and closets) and always had decor accents with a personal touch. I bought well made furniture that fit the space and when I finally left Korea, it was really easy to resell. I love your cat decor ❤️
My husband (he’s South Korean) and I have settled in Northern Quebec. We suddenly have a four bedroom house that was provided as part of my teaching contract and I’m now overwhelmed with storage options. We rescue, help educate, and rehome northern dogs, so the space is needed. To be honest, I miss my small apartment in Uijeongbu ❤️

I think we moved 11 times within span of 12 years (maybe, lost counts. it was a lot of moving for different reasons). Mostly to different cities and sometimes, across the country. What I learned from all of this is the less we have the better. Also, our furniture started out as bulky and heavy because some of them were hand me down so we didn't have a choice. We donated all of those bulky furniture to salvation army and etc. Now, when we buy something, we look at the weight and size of it (can it fit through the doors and stairs and etc?). Also, we reduced many of our stuffs such as books, clothing, nicknack, kitchen items, and etc. LOL pretty much every categories, we reduced. Now, we can put away all of our stuffs in two days if we need to move again. Sorry for the long reply. I notice that most apartments in Asia and Europe don't seem to have a lot of storage space compared to most US and Canada apartments.

I'm moving next weekend and this helped make me excited for it again! Been getting overwhelmed with the process so this was a nice reset on my mindset :) One thing that really helped my partner and I was we made a to-scale 2D model of our new place in powerpoint and measured all our existing furniture. This helped us make a solid plan of what we're keeping, where it will go, and helped us see what new things will fit before we buy. Great video! Thank you:)

I’ve seen several Korean apartment makeovers recently but yours is by far the best! You guys did a wonderful job! Also, Sarah is your outfit a blouse or dress? It’s so cute!

Sarah & Kyuho did such an amazing job with your new apartment !! Bravo to you !! 👏👏
( You two should start your own house decorating business ! 🏠 😎👍 )
From my experience when arranging a new place , one of the things I always had to look out for was finding furniture that suits my height ( because I am a tall person ) . But many furniture pieces has to be selected carefully because it could take too much space . In cases like this , I had to double check everything space wise .
