Former OBX local here. Best tip is to not have any surf racks or stickers on your vehicle when you park to surf somewhere. Surf racks will make every goober from Va. Beach pull over and paddle out right where you are.
Sheesh man, I see an old Toyota, Subaru outback, or a Jeep and I'm parking to go and check. Guilty as charged. But I'll give you 100-200 yards and your own peaks to yourself
Dude this is incredible. From the footy to the editing and most importantly the fun factor: 10/10 across the board... And the academy award of stoke goes to Surfline!!
Used to be a classic point set-up in NC, got destroyed by people who were actually trying to save it, but they had to save public and private property too and this was back in the 80s. Surf science has come a long way since then, probably could have saved it now. Still a sand bottom one that rarely turns on with sharks galore and a current that kills a few swimmers every year though.
Two different places^. There is also a novelty point for toe tubes, might get waist high on an overhead swell. I wish I’d know about it during peak of sandy swell, might have been the one day it was head high in the last decade.
The mid Atlantic east coasts gift from God. When it's waist high every where else the banks is overhead and cranking. Nicest folks and best fishing on the coast.
I miss OBX so much. Moved to Okinawa after joining the military. It’s nice and the waves are decent but the reef breaks aren’t ideal. I miss summers that I would drive up and down the OBX looking for my next place to surf then shore fishing for anything that would bite.
Very nicely done. You've captured some of the true beauty of the Outer Banks as well as some of our best surfers in some of our best waves. The place is just magical and those living here and making it home you'll find care about it immensely. I am one of those. Thank you,
Yeah we always avoided the wolf pack of cars. If it’s firing spread out. That’s why pea island is my favorite place cactus and dunes you gotta be committed checking there
Awesome video. Always felt a connection with the ocean. Now I’m 29 with a wife and kid and feel like the window of opportunity has closed for me to learn to surf. :/
@@joshm3779 my father learned with that same age, 42. he's now 56 and he surfs really well - our home beach is a long sandy break similar to outer banks, and my dad is always with his longboard even when it's big overhead. he has broken like, 7 longboads? and he doens't care cause when he's in the outside, he's gonna catch some fast, great waves or closeouts or whatever. you are never too old, just make sure you are in shape and your swimming is on the point!

@@scootersstuff So true
Fun fact: 8 out of 10 OBX locals are either from VA or their parents or grandparents are from VA.
Also eat your wheaties staying on these sandbars is no light task
dude you must be sick as fuck!!
The memories of great surf. Frisco woods camping on the sound. Redfish on camp fire. Did I say great waves!
The great thing about the OBX is that you can move up or down the beach 200 yards and get very similar waves all to yourself.
Yep
and not to worry because in a few minutes you will be down the beach 200 yards, or more! lol
Yes this is the beautiful thing compared to reef breaks here in hawaii where you compete with so many people to get a wave.
So true

First surf film I enjoyed in years
Been my go to escape from my hometown on the eastern shore of Virginia for 30 years. Always look fwd to my yearly visit to obx
Days of my youth spent camping at OBX. Nobody anywhere and waves everywhere! ❤️👍🏼where you learn to paddle out in big waves with No Channel !
NOOO CHANNelllll I remember the first time I surfed a a point moving from NC I didn't know what was going on

Great exciting NEW content bringing back memories of my 7 year stay from 1976-1983. Beautiful work townie Logan Marshall < 🎞🎞🎞
Love surfing OBX. This track list also rips.
That's got to be Brett Barley and and crew tearing it up as usual
This is so epic. So many great times camping and chasing storms
Only thing we ask is you respect the locals and drive the speed limit. Other than that , have a great time
Best place on earth
Fantastic production and vibe, I don't know any of those bands oh my god I'm so old LOL
Great piece. Work of art. Music 🤘.
Rad edit! Bo and the boys are ripping

Learned when I turned 42, man. It’s never too late if you have access to a beach.

What spawned these fantastic East Coast tubes spitting in your face?
big winter storms or hurricane swells with offshores. A lot of conditions have to line up though
So gooood!
Nice back door
Showtime. This beach in Ocean Atlântic, correto?

@@Makai77 Muito obrigado. Aqui no Brasil somente temos o oceano pacífico, por isto da minha pergunta.Mais uma vez obrigado e belo vídeo.

Sharks?
Didn’t know waves like this existed on the east coast
only on the OBX
And Nj and New York and Florida
None of those beaches get like Hatteras, c'mon now. @@andrewmiller7143
They don't 🤫
The banks are east coast surfing!!!!!
OBX is great, really great.Could use a little west coast influence, maybe?
Pepe
Keep it.
Great lefts
LOOKS LIKE A BUNCH VISITORS THAT DONT EVEN LIVE ON HATTERAS ISLAND BUT EXPLOIT THE PLACE FOR THEIR OWN FAME OR GAIN…!!!!
Surfing huge slabs is 'exploiting' the spot?? It's giving OBX the recognition it deserves
So what? They do better than you! Look at your profile picture what a awful cutback you selfish pos
Lol and the problem with that is…?🤡
OBX is overated and too far in the middle of nowhere. Surf City NC is better and close to cool Wilmington
fine. stay there.
I will . flooded zombie obx@@rk41gator
But how do you surf the ankle slappers in Surf City?🤔
I surfed it double over head and glassy@@h5u7p5gt9
