Tha nk you: the Canarios is a favourite of mine. I play it often. I heard it performed by Hopkinson smith and learned it. It is a shame things went a bit discordant at the end. It jarred as the rest was immaculately played.
Great to see young Musicians reviving this music. I've always considered these Renaissance pieces to be the Western equivalent of Indian Sitar compositions. Very ethereal.
It does. But it is not written like that. For some reason that I don't know, at 12:10 the theorbo player on the left decided to play every single string on his instrument.
Herrliche Musik ! So was nennt man dann wohl Neid !
I’m no expert on music, but have been listening intensely for the last year to complex baroque, elegant renaissance and (at times primitive) medieval music, but I found these selections long, boring and overly minimalistic. These musicians played with poor form , as they struggled with intonation, balance, and coordination.

Pleased that such beautiful music is performed and so preserved for future enjoyment.
Just beautiful! THANK you for preserving this music and for the talent and passion to do so.

The BEST kapsberger canario!!!
Interesting to see both theorbo and archlute in the same performance. Nice performance also.
J'adore. Bravo et chapeau!

Wonderful quartet. The music of Kapsberger sounds almost romantic...
So impressive! Two theorbos!...
*Beautiful*Beautiful*Beautiful*
Period instruments have such sweet sounds.
--Bravi tutti quattro ! Repetitio adjuvat =Repetition helps, said the ancients. Here, it's power for dances.

Gracias.
Realmente impressionante a dedicação destes alaudistas !
Johann Hyeronimus Kapsberger (Veneza, c.1580; Roma 1651).
Love it.....
Waooooo, que hermoso.
Muy bueno!!

Delightful

Kapsberger was Baroque not Renaissance:
Born: 1580, Venice, Italy
Died: January 17, 1651, Rome, Italy
Fancy having to carry those theorbos on a crowded bus or train!
There are some theorbos that have folding necks.
Bellisimo
Cool!
❤️💕
Is it just me or does that ending momentarily sound kind of metal?
It's not just you. Indeed, this piece could just as well be written today if we didn't know it was over 400 years old.
It does. But it is not written like that. For some reason that I don't know, at 12:10 the theorbo player on the left decided to play every single string on his instrument.
This music does remind me of Opeth. So there is something to it 🤘
Agent 99 is very good on the archlute.

🙏
Wonderfull! Where are they from? Russia, Ukrain or Bielarus?
Thank you! We are from Russia.
Bit of a bizarre ending, add lib was a bit OTT 12:10 it even surprised the other musicians! Still I gave the performance a thumbs up.
Beautiful! What's the song at 7:20?
00:10:20 please somebody help me with the name of the song! i know i've been listening to it a lot within another mixes but i cant remember its name
_Canarios, "La canarie",_ etc.
00:10:20 amagzing tune !!!
The first piece reminds me of the intro to To Live Is To Die by Metallica.
5:35
ok , who wants to make war now?
EWWWWWWW!!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!
