Couldn't agree more regarding 8yr olds in academies.. far too young and devastating to most who get released.. and I've seen lots come and go in the last 12 years of being at West brom as a parent. Plus all the travelling involved.. let them enjoy it with their mates, and when they get to around 13 or so, if you get scouted, go for it.
