    I do it the same way! I like not being alone lolol. If I want 2.35 bars, I simply uncheck the uniform scale and lower the scale height to 75% (I use a Sirui (SOO-ray) 1.25x adapter on my sphericals) So 25% wider? K. 75% of the height then. Boom :) If I want the full 2160 height (no 2.35 bars) then I do it your way and also...boom! :P

    I have a problem, I took a couple of videos and some photos using Anamorphic 50mm on my Sony A6700. I’m able to see the Photographs but I’m unable to see the video footage when I loaded it in Final Cut Pro. Can you help me??? Brand New Anamorphic User. 🙁

    Hey! This is a really dumb question but I've been playing around with some 1.33x lenses and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right--selecting the "HD Anamorphic 1080 1.33" option is still totally applicable to 4k or UHD footage, correct? Not just 1080? Thank you so much!

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  8 месяцев назад

      Hey, there are no drums questions, I whole heartedly believe that. For the select you're mentioning, does the footage look good on the timeline ? I haven't worked with 1.33 in a while. To your eyes, do it look right?

    • @NightOwlsMedia

      But yes it should work right.

      @@NightOwlsMedia Thank you for your response! To my eyes, it definitely looks fine, I'm just concerned it might be slightly off and I'm not noticing. When I desqueeze my footage in Premiere vs when I desqueeze in Resolve, it definitely looks a little different but I can't tell which looks better

      @@bluedogfilms2737I know that feeling. And I know my way isn't the best - it's more for the weird in between desqueeze settings. How big of a diff between pp and resolve are you seeing?

    Hi i have the sirui 35mm with my bmpcc 4k i normally shoot in 4kDCI 4096x2160
    Im new to the field i wanna lear how to properly use anamorphic. So in davinci resolve i make a new project i set my timeline to b 4096x1716 but also i seen people go with 4096x1704, 4096x1624, i get lost here. In camera i have the 1.33 mode on but when i import my footage to my timeline do i have to crop?

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  2 года назад

      Hey there! If you're dealing with a 1.33 directly, there shouldn't be any weird set up like I had to do here. While I don't know Davinci well, there should be a preset as 1.33 is the standard desqueeze. You should have something in there directly. I know it's in PremPro as a standard. Let me know if you figure it out! I'd like to learn it too

    Excellent video! Do you know how to desqueeze 1.55 in Premiere Pro? It has 1.33 but not 1.55. The best I can get it is by using DV Pal 16:9 widescreen. Any tips?

    Hi Jaysin! Great review. Is there a way to desqueeze the 1.6 in Premiere where you can then punch in and rotate the clip? Thanks for any insight on this

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  Год назад +1

      First off, thank you so much for the watch and for the comment, that made my day. So the first thought I had after seeing your question once you are set with the de-squeeze and the look of the image, create a nest from that clip. I'm not sure if it's auto set to this or if I key mapped it on my keyboard to be f9. You can do this in your preferences settings. Once it is a nest, you can rotate, or change anything else to it without disrupting the original effects you had to do with the scaling

    Hey Jaysin, I am reaching out because I've been filming on my Sirui Anamorphic 1.33x 35mm lens; everytime I desqueeze on premiere, I get dark corners, and it looks jello-y and the middle looks awful. My footage shakes but I don't know why it's doing that. What would you advise? Please help. Thank you in advance.

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  Год назад +1

      I know exactly what you're talking about. So check for me before we go on to more details do you have the 35 mm 1.33 or the 35 mm Saturn 1.6? I believe unless you have the upscale cine version the 1.33 is actually a APSC lens. Meaning you will get dark edges because it's cropping outside the frame. So the camera isn't able to read a full frame lens and instead showing you the blacks. Now, if you have the cine version, I believe that's a full frame lens. To get around this, because I have the 1.33x 35mm lens as well and didn't know it was APSC until I bought it. I will punch in on my camera's digital zoom 1.3-1.4x and that will get past those black corners. It's not the best way to handle it, but it's either that or sell the lens.

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  Год назад

      As for the shaking and jello effect, that I haven't quite heard of. However there is no stabilization on these lenses so when you are using a gimbal or a tripod you should be better, but if you're going handheld you have to hold your body extremely securely while you're moving so you're not shaking the camera

    I think there is an error in the Matrix ;) . Correct me if im wrong. Your Camera records in 3840X2160 and when you upscale it (what you do on the wide side) you loose information and sharpnes. When you shrink the hight tho, the algorithm should work better cause he have overlapping informations that he needs to process but he already knows more than needed. so the sharpnes should be better.
    I still have to make some real life tests but i heared the way you do it several times, and its actually the way it was done Analogue. But for digital, my mind says there is something wrong.

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  Год назад +2

      Yup. You are correct. It was an we discovered after this project I was editing was over. The audience for these edits were all watching on computers, but you're right I need to redo this video.I need to figure out the math because premiere doesn't have it in the Presets.

      Thanks for your comment. I just think the same and was a little bit confused :-) So, we have to scale down the high. For 1.6x anam. factor it is 62,5%.

    • @NightOwlsMedia
      @NightOwlsMedia  Год назад +1

      @@spieker.fotografie It's incredibly annoying, I agree. I would LOVE to redo this video, however, I have not figured out a good way to handle this yet with non-standard presets. As of now, I am shooting normally and just increasing the scaling to fit into the 3840 x 1634

      In your export settings you should simply be able to set your resolution similar to how you would do for 2.35:1. Select the option for resolution and change the numbers after clicked.off the lock icon

    • @AlphaCentauri24
      @AlphaCentauri24 Год назад +1
