    Been looking for info on how to do this for a long time. Thanks to you, my GTA is blowing cold A/C again and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Thanks for posting stuff like this, sure appreciate it.

      Awesome, glad to hear! I had a valve go bad shortly after this video, I need to fix it unfortunately.

    Good video. The AC has blown hot air in my 1998 Firebird for years, but I just suffer through.

    Did you have to put any inserts on the suction line that goes to the compressor? Getting a leak from there were the green o ring is at

      I'm not sure I know which fitting you're referring to. I did have a valve give out on the high pressure side, so I need to get that swapped out this year.

      I am thinking of recharging my car with R12,meaning i have a 1984 GM car with the huge Harrison A6 compressor that stil has pressure,even the car is parked in a barn for several years,i will take it out next month,replace the tires fluids fuel and vaccuum the system and put R12 in it.(i was super lucky i got my hands on a big new 13 14kg cylinder).

    R134A is crap on old cars.. too high pressures causes leaks ! R12 much colder and less pressure !

    • @RamblinGarage
      @RamblinGarage  11 месяцев назад +2

      That's why you replace o-rings and valves :) R12 isn't much colder if at all to 134a.

      R12 and R 134a pressures are almost the same.

      Its the size of the r134a molecyle that can escape through a smaller hole that causes the leak with r12 orings
