If you were looking at a 2nd hand EV now (£20kish) would you go for an eniro

On the hole a good review video. But waiting for that next generation Hyundai and Kia my guess is 9 to 12 months and at the Kia e Niro 4+ spec will cost considerably more money. My advice if your in the market for an Ev now I would recommend the e Niro or if you can live with the looks the soul Ev first addition which after the grant now costs £32400 and is very well equipped. As for the range of your Niro my cars showing 224 miles range with 76% battery left I can see regularly 300+miles from here on though to September/October admittedly I’m not belting up and down a motorway. Overall I like you love the car it’s quick when you need it to be (overtaking) and economic as well as being comfortable and a good boot size for me

Really enjoyed the review, especially as I’ve had mine for about the same amount of time as you. I agree fully with the conclusion - whilst I don’t regret my purchase, I have told friends and family to try to hold off until the end of this year if they’ve considering going electric. One question I wanted to ask you (and apologies if you’ve covered this somewhere else and I’ve missed it) - what bike rack are you using and how does it affect range? Cheers

      Thanks for the feedback.
I’ve got thule wing bars with a pro ride rack.
Always found them to be very reliable and fairly quiet. Minimal impact on range but I did take it off for a couple of months during the worst of winter when I wasn’t using it.

Thanks for that - will go the same route, been procrastinating big time about it!

@@EVDoesItkind of a tag on question! With the rear seats down, can you slide a bike in wholesale, without having to remove wheels? Cheers

I currently drive a petrol vehicle, also Kia, and am pretty happy with it, but will probably change it September 22 when it reaches 3 years, and have been considering an EV for my next car. I suppose with newish technologies there are always going to be improvements on a pretty regular basis, so whenever I take the plunge I’m sure more improvements will come along soon after. It’s very useful to have your real-world experience so thanks for taking the time to pass it on.

Nice review, having mine only 3 month.
Regarding competition that comes out end 2021:
All candidates I can think of are much larger, heavier, more expensive with similar features configured.
Do you see one with similar internal to external space + similar range and efficiency - but with better DC charging you can get hands on 2021?

The EV6 is starting at about £40k, which is a few grand more that the list price of the e-Niro 4 plus.
Looks like the Ioniq 5 will have versions starting below £40k as well.

If you once parked the e-Niro next to a bulky ID4? I assume EV6 will be even bigger.

I totally agree and I've invested myself on going EV for quite sometime. The market will only be loaded with options and I hope that they'll lower some of the price for EV cars.

Now we're 5-6 months on from this review, what's the alternatives? Skoda Enyaq? VW ID4?

(Oct 2021) I’m torn between the Enyaq and the e-Niro. I hate the way Skoda got the price down for the PiG just so they can then charge us extra for everything. I like the Kia 7yr warranty too, but I’m curious if the front wheel drive traction issues let it down a bit. The enyaq is rear wheel drive and has things like the 360 parking cameras that I’d want (as an extra, obviously).

Yes a great car, but just ordered an EV6, the rate of progress in EVs is astounding. Yes Teslas are very good, but the competition will take a huge market share.

EV6 looks amazing, very jealous. Regretting my three year lease now, should have gone for two.

Good video! Do you actually get 220 miles? Like you could drive 100 miles and then home again and arrive home with 20 miles left? Or is that just what the car tells you but it drops 5 miles range for every 2 miles you actually drive? We have the E2008 and the range clock starts at 196 miles, but then we drive 70 miles on the motorway and the remaining range drops to 60 miles 🤨
So real world range we probably get 120 miles per full charge.

Generally if you do a good mix of driving (urban, motorway etc, then it is pretty accurate. Tends to Go a bit rogue if you are on long journeys motorway journeys as it has no regen braking

Do you like the sun roof?

I could live without out it. Find having it open too noisy once you are at a decent speed.

Which 'HOLE' would that be Stephen?
Regarding the review. Very informative. BUT 3KWM? I get 4 easily and often 4.5.
Also in the summer I was getting 313 miles to a full charge, now, in January 2024 I am getting 252 miles to NINETY % charge.
I suggest you stop driving in divers boots ;-) and put you plimmies on!

What cars coming now have 10-15 minutes recharge time you're talking about? 😮

    • @EVDoesIt
      @EVDoesIt  3 года назад

EV6 will go 20-80% in about 18 minutes on the right charger.

period. This car is defiantly at the top of it’s market, But in a year or two will defiantly look and feel dated.

For the same price maybe slightly cheaper you will be getting a second hand Model Y with autopilot and sentry mode. Like come on, why anyone would consider any other brand is beyond me
