I think it was the amount of climbing more than anything that did me in that day. It's good to get some longer ones in from time to time. Can't wait for lock down to be done so we can venture further a field.
I've got such admiration for you doing that climb, breathtaking scenary! I've just got back into cycling and I love it, hopefully one day i'll be powering up that hill!
Nice one dude, lm no athlete let me tell you I was cream crackered going up that climb but my aim is to get fitter. Crazy that when I started 3-4 years ago I couldn't ride 3 miles without needing to stop. The sense of accomplishment getting to the top of these climbs is very addictive. Good luck 🤞
@@BeardonaBike Thats really incredible progress! I've built up from 3-4 miles to my biggest last week of 22 miles. Still looking to build on that but hopefully the weather will improve.
Hit the same closed road on one of my latest rides, very frustrating. You can always ride the greenway track alongside the river Calder to get round that road block, saved me a lot of miles at the end of a long ride last time.
@@BeardonaBike yes just came out further down that same road just before the bend into Brighouse. I'm from Bradford (Wyke) so not far off Huddersfield.
I cycled up mam nick on an old Carlton six speed with a pannier bag today. I've not been up for a couple of years. Was a nice climb but I was glad to get to the top
Nice video as always Aky, notice you also did the Deliverance climb on Strines, that's another tasty one. It was good to watch the Tour De Yorkshire going up there a few years back
@@BeardonaBike not that close, I live in Doncaster but we do regular rides out there (normally) and plenty of epic long distances ones when the weather's good
Winnats was shorter for sure but the cattle grids and cars/motorcycles passing close by put me off I think. I've set a time now so have something to go back for an beat in the future. If you know of anything else worth a ride out do let me know?
Yeah road's started collapsing from when we had all that rain earlier in the year. You can ride bikes down there though, just sneak past barriers then you've got a nice traffic free bit 😀
Made it look easy 🤣 what you didn't see was my heart rate. I had cafe legs first 1/4, the guys in front dropped me but by midway I managed to closed the gap somewhat.
Another great video beautiful location thanks for sharing
That is some route mate including the Strines road before Mam Nick. 💪 100 miles too. Epic!

Hey you went through Brighouse? I actually snook through 😉. Are you from Hudds?

You must have legs like tree trunks 💪
Great video again dude.

Great place bfor riding, love to be able to venture that way again once lockdown has ended. Are you nearby?

Great vlog as usual Aky, Weirdly I found Mam Tor tougher than Winnats Pass! Yet to do Holme Moss 👍🙂

Nice miles & climbing fella 👍👏
Don't know about nice took 3 days to recover 🤣
Great work bro!
Just waiting on you to come join me bro, you don't know what you are missing
You can go through that road closure.
I noticed a 3RT rider shortly after who got through was trying to scale down the side of the railing 🤣 the road is slipping away by the looks of it

I'll try and get him out and punish him again for not riding 😂
Great videos - bet you don't need a mic muff with that beard ;-)
I don't need buff in winter either 😜
You made mam nic look easy. I know it ain't
