I love both these people. Shang Chi was such a delight, and Simu was so good in it. Likewise for Matrix Resurrections. I really enjoyed the film, and Jessica's character Bugs was easily the best new addition. They both have a bright future ahead of them.
Matrix Resurrections sucked big time.

It's charm AND it's charisma. Some people have it and some people just don't.I always say that I think that a lot of things can be taught but that I don't think charisma is one of them-again,you either have it or you don't.
I hope she returns to Marvel, I think she did great in iron fist and I think she has potential for a greater role.

Jessica Henwick is such a beautiful and talented actress. I really hope her character Colleen Wing will make her way into MCU, specifically with Simu's Shang Chi, because Marvel can use her amazing performance once again.
If she just turned up at Xialing's place, she wouldn't even need an introduction for people who didn't watch the Netflix shows. It's such a natural fit. She's been in an underground fighting ring before. She's an enhanced fighter. The audience can infer how they might know each other, and there's a super easy reason to establish her powers. Like, here she is, she's a fighter, she's got powers, the rest will fall into place as needed. Then it's just a matter of letting the audience get to know the character like they would any other character who doesn't have those elements.
If only her character returns in MCU like Kingpin and Matt Murdock.

@@davidn.3017 Season 1 was weak. Not because of her character. She was consistently good in it, and season 2 was a huge improvement. If the MCU needs an iron fist, it would make sense to bring back Colleen instead of Danny, or to briefly bring back Danny just to kill him off and pass the torch to her. In spite of all the flaws of that show, Colleen Wing is a character worth bringing back if the story calls for it. It would make sense now that the canon floodgates have been officially opened and the underground superpowered martial arts scene has been established.
@@har5814 Really we just need all the great actors and actresses in those shows, in the MCU and we’re set for the Disney+ side of things. Jessica Jones, Punisher, Colleen, Luke Cage, and the Daredevil supporting cast.

8:17 what I love about Simu is how much of an actual person he his. There’s gets to a point where a celebrity becomes… a celebrity. Where they loose their grounded nature. It’s unfortunate that his increase of fame might come at the price of how close he is with us, but it’s understandable

I do want her to land a part in the MCU, even if it's not to play as Colleen Wing again. I am happy she didn't take the part of Shang-Chi's sister, as that would be a role that only exists in Shang-Chi films. I want Jessica to play a hero that can be in a lot of Marvel projects. Personally I want her to land the role of Psylocke in the eventual MCU X-Men films.

"It's an access point into our culture..." Such an awesome and positive perspective. There are too many Asians out there who feel that "that's all we're known for," but be damn proud of it. I'm Asian and a lot of times growing up I got the, "I bet you know Karate/ Martial Arts," and so on. If I didn't know {have it in my blood] I would've proudly said yes and hope they don't beat my ass. LOL! But seriously, Martial Arts runs very rich in our culture and those who feel ashamed of it should reconsider and start empowering themselves with a strong history of being warriors and more-so, Protectors.

Marvel Studios needs to see this chemistry. These two are hot together. Keep her as Colleen Wigg and team her with Shang Chi. That's a pairing I pay huge cinema bucks to see.

When Marvel first announced that they were making a Shang-Chi movie I was hoping they would cast Jessica Henwick having watched Iron Fist. Thought she was great in it. Hopefully, she'll be in the sequel.

Colleen as the main Iron Fist would be great. I hope they bring her back in the fold. The series ended with her being the crime-fighter by the end so I really think it would fit nicely and Danny could still exist elsewhere just travelling or finding his way back into K'un-Lun.
Her & Danny both had the power of the iron fist at the end of season 2. They need a real Asian/American actor as Danny though. That was the problem with the show & poor fight scenes. I love collen, but she should NOT be the MAIN iron fist imo. I still want her in the mcu somehow regardless if she plays collen or a new character
@@mikejaxx7791 Danny Rand was never an asian-american so they don't really need to change anything and it wasn't "the problem" with the show so much as it was the writing/execution. And why do they even need to change Danny's race anyway? Because he's associated to martial arts? If so , then that only furthers the asian stereotype brought up in this conversation. Part of Danny Rand's character was being a white guy of privilege who's thrust into an ancient culture where he's essentially stripped off everything and has to prove himself by working extra hard in a foreign land to be worthy of the Iron Fist. It won't be right to take that away, and I say this as an asian guy myself.

@@mikejaxx7791 yes, I often advocate for keeping things as close as *reasonably* possible to the source as it's always important to keep the essence of these characters intact. Diversity is necessary and can be good but diversity for diversity's sake and done at the expense of what a character is about is a no-no for me. Like for example, "The Batman" changing Gordon and Catwoman's race for me is perfectly fine because it doesn't affect the core of their characters but to change someone like Iron Fist who's race is pivotal to his character and story would be like changing Black Panther to a white guy. It won't be the same person in essence.
Shang-Chi has already been updated perfectly to provide the asian-american perspective that you're asking for and he exists as the other side of the coin opposite Danny Rand's. In my opinion, having them team-up and be friends like in the comics is the way to go because there's opportunity to explore the dynamic of two characters with opposite origins but yeah, I'm not sure that's what the studio wants for the character of Shang-Chi.

It would be amazing. I just want them to get him right this time & finally get his suit for crying out loud lol

It's interesting how Danny Rand was the least interesting character in his own show (although he greatly improved when they changed showrunners between seasons), but some of the secondary characters would totally be worth bringing back. Colleen Wing and Mary/Walker especially. Colleen for Shang-Chi 2 and Mary/Walker for Moon Knight or something.
Marvel folks - please consider this interview as a screen-test for Jessica with Simu - and get Jessica into Marvel MCU soon! :D

Jess has played one Marvel character in Iron Fist. Why recast her to play another character. Since Iron Fist was badly received by fan. Why not pair her with Simu in next Shang Ci film. Even in this video, I can feel the good chemistry between these two actors. I won't be surprised if this video is actually a teaser done by Marvel to bring Coleen Wing to MCU.
Well at the end of the Iron Fist shows she becomes the new Iron Fist so if the sequel is using Iron Fist bringing her back makes sense. But, Jessica would be the perfect Leiko Wu who was a British MI6 Agent that was Shang-Chi's love interest.

100% right...the entire world did fall in love with Jessica in that role. After watching this, I love both of these actors even more. Just watched Jessica's Bus Girl short in which she wrote and directed it and she is perfection! I would love to see Colleen Wang in her own show for Marvel! Nothing but the best for these two in what I hope are long and bright careers!
