What mask? That’s how I look! Okay, so I tried, (and succeeded?), my very best to have it appear that way, with all footage of the lion being greenscreened, and then composited in the shoots with the camera and microphones. So, no. I did not do the test with the mask, but that you would even entertain that idea for a moment, is a very kind compliment. Thanks!
This video looks great but from my experience the varying noise floor was very erratic. Listened at mid to high volume with head phones. Sometime it sounded like the recordings were at different times of the day or AC was no then off (not during take but from take to take). Outside noise? For the test, are the mics being recorded at the same time or one after the other. I feel like one after the other and which for me. was difficult to to judge. Love the mask but I think it interferes with the sound axis. Some stuff sounds off axis me, maybe the mask? Sorry to be critical over lower end mics but it would be great to hear each mic reading the same paragraph to hear how each reacts to the same air pressure and sibilance. This is exactly the kind of video we are all looking for so think you for making it!
Thanks for story time... a novel and well done mic shootout. I have the Movo and have been happy with it. I like the sound quality of the Neewer here in the video.
This was super helpful in making my decision. I agree with your comments. I think I'm going with the Movo, seeing I think it might have more capacity and I want to record music as well. Love the reading! I recognize your voice (me thinks)! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
Why does this channel only have 32 subscribers. This is a superb review. If you want more subscribers I don't think it is the content that is lacking probably just needs getting out there a bit. Keep up the great work. A comparison of cheap end lights ( for DSLR or action/ vlog cams) would be good.
Excellent video and description. You can clearly choose your weapon. Good explanation for Neewer. You can't grounded your equipment everywhere.. Rode probably knows what to put inside microphone. Thanks again bud!!!
Hi I think the Rode is the "fairest" microphone but still not that fantastic. A question would this microphone be good to record a music concert?Rode VideoMic NTG Only for live streams as I can no longer edit the sound in post production. I only want to record with Smartphone and have a OnePlus plus 6 (it's not a new thing) with 3.5 mm output. May I have your opinion friendly lion? 😊
I suspect the Movo is the same as the Boya BY-MM1. That is what I have. Way too bassy for my liking and have been thinking of ditching it. The Rode sounds the best and cleanest to me, and other reviews suggest that the shockmount is much better there as well, my Boya picks up too much of the bumps.
Check your cables. The end that goes into the Neewer needs to be a TRS (two black rings on the plug. The end that goes into your phone needs to be TRRS (three black rings.) That cable should be in the box if you bought the mic new. Otherwise, grab it on Amazon or eBay. It's literally called 'TRS to TRRS 3.5mm cable'. If none of that works, then there's either something wrong the the phone plug or Neewer plug.
I have been looking at all of these. I must be honest and say..... I can't tell them apart. I think I will get the neewer based on price. J have a couple of their products already and they are great.
In a nice controlled room, where the worst case is some echoy walls, the mics have more in common than not. Take them outside in windy weather, or to an event with music playing, and it'll be bass-overload for the Movo and it will start distorting. The Rode handles room tone best if beyond 3ft from your subject. The Neewer, or at least my unit, had a strange short to ground issue, where it would start humming loudly if I connected it to a recorder that was powered by an AC outlet without ground. None of the other mics had the same issue. As soon as I connected DC power via USB to the recorder, the hum was gone, so it's not likely you'll encounter that if using it with a camera - unless you use the mic on a camera that is connected to an AC power source. In conclusion: Is the Rode better than the Neewer? Yes, but not by $40+ or however much the difference is. The Neewer is a pretty solid mic that will perform well if you familiarize yourself with its strengths and weaknesses. Happy shooting!
I really wanted to love the Movo because it's got that extra boost. But after shooting outside in mild wind, and finding that the audio cut in and out because the extra bass made it clip, I went back to Rode. Neewer is definitely my second choice.
@@techlion4388 bro! The clipping is so annoying. I have my mic turned down to volume 1 and out side is the wind it clips all the time. Thats with the dead cat on too. I baught it ages ago due to all the videos on youtube saying its better then the rode micro. Im glad its not me thats also having the clipping problem.
@@techlion4388 its annoying as where im from the rode micro is $80 the movo is $70 and the neweer is $21 lol so neweer is looking mega good at that price

You really made an "Audio-Test" with a Mask, wich covers your mouth?

What about the BOYA BY-MM1? It seems to be the winner for both price and performance in other comparisons I've seen.
Fantastic Video! Thank you so much for this! Happy for having bought my Rode VM yesterday then!
Is it me or is there some low electronic noise with the Neewer?
very Hummm 60Hz
Great video.. Thanks,
Love the reading! I've never gotten so comfy during a review!

Wow, great video and information in the description !
I decided to go with the Movo for the bass, thanks for the help Lion Dude !! 👍

@@techlion4388 no problem mate ..... I bought the neewer by the way.... Still trying it out.
Because the dude is wearing a mask while doing audio reviews? That's going to be a no from me dawq.
By far the best video on the topic! Thank you!

Easy for me : i will choose the more flat and the more directional. And happily both qualities are on the same model : the Moukey MCM-1.
Thanks for the review, But I wonder, doesn't the mask muffles the voice for the true sound clarity?
The review was not done with the mask on. Note also that the mask is not at the distances displayed from the tests.
Very detailed comparisons 👍 made me have a lot more confidences going into my purchase...... Thanks

Thanks for the comment. Which mic did you like the best?
this channel is a gem.
would've loved to see the vxr10 pro compared
Terrific detailed review, thanks! I will be going with the neewer mic.
Great job I was looking at the moukey but I think il go with the neewer instead thx again and keep it up👍
Compared to the Moukey, and at that price, you can't go wrong with the Neewer. Happy shooting.
wtf after that im subbing even if this is the only video i need to watch its ridiculous how this hasnt picked up

I honestly think the movo sounds the best, I like tha bass it packs
I have a Neewer mic and pluged in to Huawei. However, the phone is still using the internal mic

How can you have only 58 subscribers?
My style of channel, I would never show my face on RUclips either.
Thanks! Nice video!
I must admit i got into the story and forgot about the mics haha
Aha! A Neewer win for me! Gonna do some longer range and wind tests before I really decide though. Should have included that in this video.
Nice review. Have you tried these outdoors? let me know your conclusions. Thanks.

The only clear winner here is Detective LaRue; What a fantastic piece of literature!
You just made me feel sorry for just buying the Movo VXR10, instead of the half price and better sounding Neweer CM14
You should not ... I like the sound of Movo much more. Neweer is too "hissy" for my taste.
